If they standardize the Next Gen across the current international series (Pinty's in Canada, Euro series, Mexico series, etc.) Then they can make NASCAR international and recognizable without making the cup series schedule fit the new goals. I think if the Next Gen becomes the international standard for the sport it will attract foreign drivers to race in a stock car, and may attract the Cup series stars to make select appearances overseas for exhibition events. And if they really wanted to interconnect the global market, they can make a championship series that takes the Champ 4 from every international league and have a NASCAR world cup

Perhaps a good forward move for Nascar to go is try to close the gap between Nascar stock car and the Le Mans Camaro specs, so more teams can participate in Le Mans and the Wec Championship (6 hour races are perfectly doable for cars running the coca cola 600), or the 24 h Nurburgring in the same class as the gt cars

Chances are most sports fans in that region have already made their mind up about nascar so no point to make a massive push. Eric, thank you for a very thought-provoking video 🤔 While I'm not NASCAR's target market (i.e., not young), I'm a relatively new fan in the Midwest. And, I see pros and cons in going global. The challenge for any brand is how to evolve without losing your identity. To me, NASCAR has to figure out how to use the keys to success used by F1 without becoming an F1 wannabe. I'd like to see NASCAR take the stadium racing to go global rather than road courses . . . keeps the roots but gives a lot of options for global venues. And, they must be careful to not exhaust their stars (including crews) with a huge schedule. Even Soccer has an off-season.

I like the idea of going global, but we're getting to a point where it is physically impossible to have all the races we want on a schedule. You can't do Montreal, Mexico, Australia, etc. without cutting other dates. Ideally, we would eventually get to a point where we don't revisit most tracks, but even then, you might have to go to a biennial schedule where you alternate tracks every year to fit everything in. One year you run Watkins Glen, one year you run Montreal, etc. The other option would be to make a spinoff series specifically for Road Courses, but I don't think that it would be easy to get the funding for that sort of thing. All that said, I can't say that I wouldn't want to see a NASCAR race at Monza or Silverstone, and am interested to see where this goes in the future.

Would I like to see these races as part of the normal schedule, maybe Mexico and Canada. If they are going to go over seas, then the series has to do England, France and Germany or something along those lines. The cost of transportation for team members, parts and the cars would be small fortune. If they can pull some international sponsorships for the cars like UPS, DHL, Sony, Red Bull to add to Shell and Monster, sponsors would definitely get there moneys worth. However, car count may be an issue for will the lower funded teams afford to go plus if they don't, it should not affect their charter.

Indycar has hosted races there during the early 2000s and it has the great perk of being an oval, trioval to be specific, one of the few large ovals in Europe. And of course it's in Germany. In the UK, they can probably do Donington, Brands Hatch or the National layout of Silverstone. France doesn't really have circuits that I think would work well with a Cup car, maybe the Bugatti layout of Lemans or Dijon.

I was at le mans and i can say people loved the car. People clapped when the car got going again after it's issue and when it finished, and my friend and I had a giddy smile on our faces everytime it passed, it just sounded incredible. I really hope NASCAR comes to europe for a race because a full field of 40 of those must be crazy
If they do they could run the lausitzring, a full 2 mile tri-oval speedway that indycar used a few times in Germany.
Also what are the chances that Cup will start using the garage 56 aero at road courses? It's unlikely, but damn would it be fun.
Finally if I'm allowed to comment on america, everyone in America (in all countries really) loves their country, however division appears in how people want to improve the country and make it better. But here we got a car that is unapologetically American, that screams it's American everytime it passes, but in a way that puts a smile on peoples faces and makes them want to see more of america. No wonder everybody finds themselves patriotic of the car!

Baby steps. I'd like to see a NASCAR category in ISMA. Garage 56 was not in the way on the track. Could be exciting. Thanks for the video 😎👍

Would love to see a NASCAR entry in the Rolex 24. Overseas races seems logistically hard, but I'd be interested in watching a 100% international series in addition to regular Cup series.

I hope honda does consider coming to Nascar. It would be cool to see a civic in the field.

The Whelen Euro Series is pretty good stuff and it has given NASCAR a presence in Europe that could help pave the way for the original series to have some races there, maybe with some Euro Series drivers in the mix.

If we get more manufacturers, i would hope the field would be a bit bigger. Instead of 36 cars. Would like to see at least 43 cars again. I think there is alot of talent in the other series that will come up to cup. However with only 36 cars. Only so many can get spots. Im all for expanding to other regions as well. Think it would spark some interest!

if NASCAR wants to grow in Europe they do not need to physically race here, they need to work on access. All the promotion in the world is useless if it’s on some paid-for channel no one has in most western European markets. Viaplay Sports in the UK, people haven’t even heard of that… Sport1+ in Germany, a channel most are unlikely to have already.
That is what they need to work on and I’ve seen no indication anyone in NASCAR knows this.

If NASCAR wants to grow the popularity internationally, a good way to start is by starting races earlier in the day.

I love how some Europeans would try to find any reason as to why this wasn't that big of a deal. "They finished second to last of cars that made the full race." "It's not actually a real NASCAR." "It was lighter and had more horsepower than the GTE AM cars, so 2 to 4 seconds is nothing." I don't know the exact specs but from my probably wrong research it was 200 lbs heavier than the GTE AM cars, and I think the motor was the same as in the stock next gen car. It also had 650hp if I'm correct and 450hp doesn't sound right at Least Mans. A very high speed track. Correct me if I'm wrong

NASCAR was testing the waters to see popularity of NASCAR in Europe. Also test what it would cost to move the cars over seas.

I loved the Garage 56 appearance and not only did the world see the abilities and proficiency of NASCAR but I think NASCAR took much learning from this race that can be adopted into NASCAR to make the sporting format a bit more inviting to global audiences who think it's just ovals. More down force, increasing the engine HP, reducing weight, giving more tire life and you got yourself a road race ready stock car much like the very exciting to watch Australian SuperCars.
Which brings me to a desire of mine which is to merge Australian SuperCars and NASCAR into a global competition that is like F1 in that it goes from one track to another as they jump countries across the season. Ovals are fast with much jeopardy so I know it isn't easy and requires plenty of skill ... but I think more race circuits with twisty corners is also a necessity to add to the sport and Australian SuperCars does that so beautifully.

I grew up watching Nascar as a kid with my dad, routing Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson, and Earnhardt Jr around the track. When Gordon left, I kinda did too and this new generation of stock car racing turned me away more honestly. Hearing about Garage 56 with some big names racing for it was a game changer for me, and now learning that Nascar is doing more road courses... I think I have to get back into it again

I couldn't have been more hyped for G56. It completely exceeded expectations in spectacular fashion! I really hope NASCAR can find a way to work with the FiA and WEC to bring multiple stock cars to events like the Rolex 24, 12H Sebring, 12 Laguna Seca, 24H Nurburgring and/or Spa.
Couple that with the possibility of NASCAR doing more races internationally? This could very well be the break NASCAR has been looking for.
Ford's CEO was invested enough to take shots at the G56 Camaro, maybe that's the incentive needed to keep not just the Camaro alive but the NASCAR project as a whole.

Unfortunately, the American audience in the tiktok generation likely won't lead to more nascar fans. It's a niche interest in a saturated entertainment market. People can watch anything nowadays. Going global will probably be the only option in the coming years. I see a lot of international interest in the /turnleft/ threads.
