listened to the ventures very young and found that they were a great one. their songs were all instrumentals and easy listening. they had so many great songs and were an icon in japan.with so many songs with great sounds as well as songs from movies in the US. its too bad they ;lost a great drummer in Mel Taylor was a a mainstay but now the ventures have his son.its also too bad that the ventures were not in the haall of fame much sooner. they are still regarded as the most influential instrumental bands of all time with the most sold records. i could listen to their music all day. they were not a flashy or loud band like today and thats why they still have staying power and want to be heard by so many people.a lot of bands have a great respect for the ventures and have stated the ventures where their role models.just a great band all round.thumbs up.

The Ventures were good musicians and also very good copycats. A Finnish band called The Sounds recorded Manchurian Beat in 1963 and The Ventures recorded an exact copy of it later.
