Thank you ,Took me Way Back I'm 72. (1951) THANK YOU. I CLOSE MY EYES And see my friends and I in San Diego at the beaches... Bon fires, parties.Summer time.😊
These guys play their music 50 years after the original recording as if it was the first time. They actually appear as fresh as tge first day. They hve brought me so much happiness over the years. Rhznks guys.
Astonishingly surprised to read this. Looks like I overlooked the news in Japan. I miss him so much. RIP the great Nokie! Hope Don and Jerry live longer and of course the current member of the Ventures like Leon and Bob Spalding.
Don and Gerry have pretty much given up touring and playing now too. There is a bit in a video ( 2017 concert, I believe)) where you see the line-up with the three new members and Don, but now Leon is the only (sort of, since he succeeded his dad Mel) original and now Don has relinquished his spot also. Wikipedia.com gives a good rundown of the past and present members, but since Nokie died only early yesterday morning, they had not mentioned his passing last time I looked. Leon is on FB, by the way.
Don Wilson you had put your guys song's on my computer back in the 60's, I still have them, you Guy's are the best group that I ever heard. What I would like to know what one of you is Don Wilson. There is no group that can beat yous'.I was 16 when I heard you play, I'm now 72 years old, your songs still keep me young at heart.
Grew up in late fifties and sixties in Southern Cal, we wore these guys albums out. The Ventures, one of a kind. Way before the Beachboys.....!! Very Cool.
I too grew listening to this music, Jan & Dean plus The Beach Boys. Trying recall the wipeout guitar player's name...was it Dick Dale? And Pipeline is now playing a super favorite of mine. I grew up at base of foothills going into The Sierra's so we just had the rivers to play in.
My all-time favourite U.S instrumental group.. Loved them since I first heard my Dad's old 45rpm singles back in 1976. I became hooked - still a huge fan almost 50 years later..
If not for these guys i would have never taken up Surfing . Thank You Ventures ! R.I.P. Nookie Edwards . And Thank You for all of the Wonderful Musical Memories .
This live show was realized in a very cold time on May 18, 2004, at 5:00 PM in Hibiya Kokaido Public Hall, Tokyo, Japan. It is the first time that the Theater received a Rock Band. The live show has played 31 uninterrupted music included the final encore. It was a Great Show to celebrate 45th years of the Band !
This was 2004 in Japan; this was the last year Bob Bogle went to Japan, the winter tour since Nokie is on lead, Gerry McGee played the Summer tours back then. I went to several shows in Japan 2007-2011; Don Wilson is retiring from the group after this tour in Japan, I will be at the Nakano Sun Plaza show, Don's last Tokyo show SEP 06, 2015. First time I saw them live was in Wichita, KS. March 1963. Between The Ventures and Shadows both are the top instrumental groups, different styles.
every time I play these songs it looks like its the first time I watch them ,fresh and new!!! viva ventures. i love all of you. you guys remind me my teen age and I feel young.
i am a crazy fan of the Venutres from my boyhood days.. It's my routine work to play this album everyday. Nocki Edwards looks very calm and gentle but yet very skillful with his guitar. I feel sad that they have become old and Bob Bogle has passed away. Certainly they are the guru of all the musicians today.
we all have to agree to that big loss, but all those guy's made us smile from ear to ear . all we can do now is keep playing their music and passing it down to other generations !! :))
Probably the most prolific musical group of all time. The Ventures inspired thousands of kids (including me) to form garage bands in the late 1960s. "Reflections in a Palace Lake" (Kyoto Bojo) remains one of the most beautiful instrumentals ever, IMO.
Fabulous!! I too grew up with The Ventures. Their music is timeless and no one will ever match their talent or success. I can listen to them for hours. Thanks for uploading this video.
The ventures gave a huge impact to Japan's music scene and created instrumental band boom in 60's. It was also so amazing that they could create so many truly Japanese melodies. I grew up in that era. They were and still are super stars to me and all of my generation. Thank you for coming to Japan to have concerts so many times. I love you guys.

The drum solo towards the end is simply mind-blowing...!
The Ventures and The Shadows. The Greatest Instrumental Groups of ALL time. From 1960's to 2060's and beyond.
The facial tempo expression of the late Mel Taylor is still instinct and same with his son Leo. Two generations of great innovative drum maestros.
If not for these guys i would have never taken up Surfing . Thank You Ventures ! R.I.P. Nookie Edwards . And Thank You for all of the Wonderful Musical Memories .
Rest in Peace Nokie. Rock it up with Mel and Bob in heaven.

What is it about the 60's, seems to me all of the best musicians came out this time period, and if still alive they are still the BEST.
Never get back such wonderful group, still today I never seen this talented musicians😢

Stara muzyka , jakże jednak piękna. Coś fantastycznego.
My dad was a great fans of Ventures though he's no more listening to them remind me of past memories
The last song was the best drumming I have enjoyed in a long time.
