Imprintmaker has refined it's full color t-shirt printing process since 2012. With advancement in water based inks and proper curing of inks, DTG printing lasts same length as screen printing.
Since water based inks are being used, direct to garment t-shirt prints feel very soft to touch compared to screen print done using plastisol inks.

Looks good. Do all DTG commercial printers go through this process? If so, why do graphics and text come out cracked. I ordered two hoodies and a shirt from a well known supplier and I was extremely disappointed with the outcome. I was like, what is this? This is part of the reason why I’m having a hard time committing to DTG.

Sounds like crappy low quality ink and possible that whoever made those didn't heat press them properly either. I have had problems with low quality ink myself doing the same thing.
