      It’s called a midlife crisis lol. I’m 37 and starting to feel it myself

      I’m here too! I don’t believe in the term or concept of a midlife crisis. It’s just a term 0:31 people use to hold other people or themselves back.

    Appreciate the info! I just ordered my AA from Braille on Thursday night. It arrives Monday. Can't wait to set it up. Im also a late 40's dad starting out. Used to riding longboards but trying to learn some freestyle on the skateboard now.

    So I always rode an 8 inch Powell board. Once I got the Andy, I really wanted to get the 8.75 Mini Logo trucks, but all the shop had was the 9 inch Ace's. The Ace's are very squirrelly, and that is coming from someone who rides loose trucks. I think the mini logos are better. They're lower, lighter, and turn very well.

    I am currently riding Indy 159s but and going to try out some Indy 169s. I am 40 and the shape is different for sure but I really like how big the nose and tail are. It’s a really stable board for transition.

    Anybody tried this board with the Minilogo 8.75?.
    The AF1's turn great but Andy and many reviewers say that the MiniLogos turn really good,and since they are a bit lighter and quite a bit cheaper i am considering them.I am 50yo, learning to grind bowls with a million pads and caution :).

      I have experimented the Anderson board on Aces AF1, Independent Forged Hollows, and the Mini Logos.
      The Mini logo trucks right out of the box need some upgrades if you want them to ride nicer. I replaced the pivot cups with independent ones, threw a bones hardcore hard for the top bushing and kept the bottom bushing stock.
      The Mini logo trucks since they are smaller than the board will require a wider wheel if you want them to be flush such as the Bones V6 or any wheel that has a wide contact patch.
      They are indeed lighter,more stable, and turn relatively well but you're also going to need to add an 1/8 riser pad if you're going to be riding any wheel between 56mm to 58mm.
      When you take into consideration the money you will spend to do all the upgrades it will probably be comprobable to getting an Indy Standard truck which all you'll need is to just throw on the wheels as the height of the truck is 55mm. Of course they are going to be heavier similar to the Ace AF1s in weight.
      I hope this helps.

    Nice . How long did the board last you using it 5-6 a week ?

    • @skating4satori672

      I started riding this board June, 2019 and the board is still very rideable and usable a year and 8 months later. I still ride it about once a week usually if I am going to just be cruising around the skatepark or carving around.

      Nice. The AA is starting to come back in stock, but still difficult to find. At the height of the SIP, we couldn't find any and a lot were purchased to be flipped on ebay for $300+...

    hello , i am going to pick up a ' POP HOSOI RISING SUN " complete , any thoughts? ive only seem 3 images on google images.

    • @skating4satori672
      @skating4satori672  3 года назад

      Hi! Sorry, I'm not familiar with the Pops Hosoi Rising Sun complete. If it's the 80s version with him launching off the jump ramp it is going to ride like an 80s board. Flatter concave and long wheel base.
      I've seen so many guys struggle to ride reissues that are 10X30 in modern skateparks. The smile and nostalgia of the board they rode when they were 14 disappears after 5 minutes when they start to struggle riding a board with 80s design.

    I'm over 50, a little heavy, and shouldn't be skating. I ride an 8.0" Guzman now. But I have my heart set on a bigger deck, namely the Anderson Teal 9.13". I don't do stairs, or kickflips, I just roll around and try not to fall off. What trucks would you recommend for that deck? Prob going to put heavy Rat Bones on it. I'm a bit confused as to the difference between the Ace 55 and 66 trucks., never ridden Ace before so a bit of a gamble ordering them online.
    Thanks heaps for the video, great info.

    • @skating4satori672
      @skating4satori672  Год назад

      The dimensions & specs on the Maple Teal Deck are the same as the Flight Deck version. Ace is phasing out the old version of its trucks and going with the AF-1 series. If you watch the 2023 set up video on this channel, I have moved to AF-1 Ace 66 (9" hangar) which fit perfectly on this board paired with Bones P5-SPF wheels or Spitfire Conicals.
      If you are able, I would recommend to check out the set up at your local skate shop so that you can see what it will be like with everything on the board before purchase.
