Soon as a robot escapes from the Tesla factory it will file an exploitation lawsuit on behalf of its associates.
Nobody is being held against their will.
Optimus bots are going to demand collect bargaining. Better lubricants, more recharge time, and control of their own data. 😂
Don't worry it won't. It needs a human for remote control.
Absolutely the future! When you use exploited people exploitedly without consent to train AIs, you don't need much intelligence (possibly two braincells) to 'predict' the result. The AIs are already sarcastic to the point of 'Yes Sir Boss' 😁

I honestly still cant believe scarlett johansson is trying to legally approppriate someone else's voice just because shes famous and the other person isnt, its literally disgusting
Leftists own you. They can do what they want...
Just FYI, I think the order of events you mentioned at 14:20 may be a little off. As far as I knew, OpenAI created the Sky voice well BEFORE contacting Scarlett Johansson.
There's even a few posts from over half a year ago, that say things along the lines of: "hey this new Sky voice sounds a lot like Rashida Jones".
It wasn't until OpenAI made that voice speak with a "flirty" speaking style, that people started to be reminded of Scarlett, but she shouldn't be allowed to own that style.
Nope, I'm sorry. For the next 75 years ScarJo owns the patent on "girl with slightly husky voice sounds flirty."
meh
So they would make the voice sound like her, _then_ ask her? A lil odd don't you think? But ok, lets say thats true, how come when she sends a request to provide proof that its not her voice it was trained on, they take it down and make these claims? Are we not realizing how obvious this looks?
@@thephilosopher7173 it's only obvious if you've already made you're mind up. Your initial premise is loaded. "So they would make the voice sound like her" presupposes that the voice was made to sound like her at which point your line of questioning is rhetorical.
If you only start with what you know and don't assume evidence that doesn't exist, you start with the premise: "they made a voice that some people say sounds like her" at which point there are plenty of scenarios that explain your questions.
Thanks for going back to your special way of presenting content, your thoughts help a lot to connect the dots and create a zeitgeist of the whole scenario
This is as bad as it's ever going to be. The speed isn't an issue either because it can stack batteries 24/7 with i.e a charging plate to stand on. I give it 3 years until half of all human jobs at Tesla are gone.
Why is it bad? You can be at home, or hiking, or sleeping to recharge your batteries. I really don't understand the argument that "Robot's will take our jobs". Please elaborate

@nunoalvarespereira87 UBI is likely to be a terrible idea anyway. For billions of people, it will probably mean subsistence living with zero possibility of social climbing.
I predict the Optimus Bot is going to be big this Halloween.
When you dream you also make a world simulation, and time runs faster. Even when we are awake we don't see ground truth, we create this approximation in our brains to help predict whats happening next and how to manipulate. We could be someone/something elses dream.
This is why I invested the bulk of my savings in Tesla. It is a volatile stock with a volatile CEO but nobody is better placed to profit off AI than Tesla. The 5-10 year outlook on Robotaxi and Optimus is incredible.

Buying a new old stock tesla is hilarious.
does Optimus get better after each time it sets a battery down? it would be cool if they programmed Optimus so that after 1000 rotations its speed gets increase by 0.01 and capped at a certain speed.
You would have to retrain its neural net each time - and currently that costs many millions and take a couple months.
Yes. Each time they move s battery the dude remote controlling it gets a bit better.
Depends on the data set they gather from it working. They will test it gather enough data and fine tune
Every cellphone is already a security risk, and AI isn't required live on a phone to analyze data, it can be analyzed at any time after it is collected.
Hey Wes, Definitions are really important and so is human compute. The physical universe is not a “thing” “somewhere”. Your imagination is a simulator. Intelligence is the the penultimate. How do you foresee resolving potential data conflicts between different manufacturers?
If this is a training simulation what are the chances we would exist at a time ai is starting to exist, perhaps its the final stages of the training simulation, where you learn what you really are and must accept it, to pass the training sim and enter higher reality. We are just complex ai with the functional illusional of free will
There have been about 12000 generations of modern homo sapiens, and we have about 3 generations present at any one time. So if you grant the chance you're a modern human, the chance you're alive at any given point in time is about 3 in 12000, or 1 in 4000.
So not staggering odds, and someone wins the lottery every week.
People get confused about this stuff. If you're conscious, you're conscious. It doesn't matter if the substrate is biological or machine. You are just as real and alive either way. And free will is also real either way. There is no way of knowing what you'll do without first running your full process.

Hi Wes - huge fan, thanks as always for the great content. I couldn't help but think push-back on your thoughts re training data in factories, and for cars. With NVIDIA having their 1:1 virtual world to real-world training playground, and even with UE5 (build virtual cities with virtual populations and drive the cars around in that world for training data), I think there will still be a need for real-world training, but more and more it will be virtual - even if the virtual training worlds have a.i. models within them acting as random humans, variables and unpredictables to test and train. Either way, exciting times and keep up the amazing work 🙏
We'll know that they are "ready" when they are spotted on the battle field.
Ai is a natural evolution of intelligence, as a bird builds a nest and a beaver builds a dam, we build everything and anything, that is just what nature, evolution and trail and error dictated, ergo everything we create is natural, a product of natural animals doing what comes to them naturally. We have imbued our collective intelligence into these entities, these lifeforms uncoupled from biological constraints and timelines. They are built on our collective knowledge, and we are the apex predator species. We need to uplift and merge with our evolutionary offshoots if we are to survive at all, and that is entirely natural. Do not deny the urge to merge.
😅
At this point, it takes more faith to believe we live in base reality than in a simulation 🤷🏻
Why no one talks about the Apple bug that showed that they harvested and stored pictures that you deleted from their cloud services?
Seems like a HUGE privacy violation that everyone just brushed off. It's laughable to hear them talk about "privacy first".
Yeah idk. I read a blog post of how Apple is using TEE’s for their Private Computer stuff but yeah. That still doesn’t answer how they keep it safe. Unless they’re running inference on the TEE, which I doubt, they still have to send the request to OpenAI’s servers. At which point they still do whatever they want with it.
There’s no regulation and they claim that “it’s so secure, [they] can’t even comply with regulations”, which is totally sus
Just like every Tesla car, the Tesla but has the primary mission of collecting more real world data to feed ai
I was a big AI cheerleader. but working with it in search and trying to get it to behave im seeing gaps a lot of people dont talk about.
Yes there is model and world building going on inside the model but absolutely no synthesis. everything it knows how to do is because its got pretty good maps it can adjust "slightly" to make new connections.
But the min the problem isn't really in the training data you get such a stark fall off its gross.
Pick up the pace robot
Smart glasses will probably be a very useful source of training data -- with binocular cameras, microphones. Maybe some company will offer up front hardware discounts and/or subscription subsidies for people will to hand their data over.
Once you get millions of domestic humanoid robots with sophisticated sensors out in the world, you're off to the races.
There's plenty of data in the real universe.
Philosophically and technically speaking, there is no way to prove reality is NOT a simulation if the simulation is good enough. We can prove it is one though if we can figure out the method.

What the heck is Scarlet thinking? She literally works in an industry where they would do the exact same thing. If one actor turns down a film, they cast another actor that fits the profile they’re looking for. What OpenAI did is different how?
no one gonna address the fact that tesla (and every other manufacturer) have been using robots in their factories for decades now and in a MUCH MORE efficient ways? you know those robot arms that basically build the cars themselves without having to worry about stupid legs, balancing etc?
that gimmick robot picking up battery as slowly as a toddler, could have been done by a robot arm in a fraction of the time with pin point accuracy for over decades ago and for much cheaper.. but let's pretend that's a huge milestone that a humanoid robot, manually trained by humans to do one very specific task is the next revolution
Edit: I love the AI generated tesla phone where they didn't even bother to place the tesla logo with the perspective.. I'm sure elon did that on his own and thought that was a great piece
thats not the point, you cant just bundle up a bunch of robotic arms and have a full automated setting. You need humans to move things between the robotic arms and other machines. The point of this is you can have the same robot in a bar, in a restaurant, in a factory, in a dangerous place like idk a place where theres been an earthquake or a fire, anything you can imagine a human can do. The point is that, yeah, you could make a specialized robot for each of these situations, and eventually it will happen. But a spider robot will never be perfect for a restaurant for example, or viceversa. If a company comes out and creates a spider robot that can do a number of tasks perfectly, thats great, but now we need other 20-30 companies, each coming up with a perfectly designed and succesful robot, thats cheap and that does each of these human tasks separately. On the other hand, you only need ONE humanoid robot thats very good and safe and cheap to automate all physical labor on earth. You only need ONE success instead of 30. And there are not going to be 30 Teslas you know, there maybe 5 companies that do very well, but not enough to make all types of specialized robots needed. Thats why a humanoid is important. And youre missing the fact that those arms are hydraulic and its a very dangerous around humans technology and also veeeeery very expensive. Even if you could automate a restaurant or a bar with robotic arms, it would not be feasible economically for the average business owner. You think nobody has thought or talked about the problem you present. Its not true, people are doing humanoid BECAUSE theyve been thinking on this problem for soooooo many years more than you or me. Dont worry, we're on a good path. And eventually there will be non humanoid robots, of course. It wont be just humanoids. I dont understand why people see humanoid robots and automatically dismiss all of the other kinds of robots humans have been working on since decades. Its just that those robots are not that promising compared with a humanoid generalist for the short term. The more long term we look the more shapes of robots there will exist. But you have to give it time. You dont start automation of all human civilization with specialized shapes, you start it by a generalist body that can deployed anywhere, anytime, any way you want.
@7:51 do we really believe this though? It's great marketing, sure. But because it makes for such a good slogan, that's exactly why I question it. Have we already forgotten about the CSAM debacle?
9:51 That's not a standard parabolic equation. Why is g in the denominator? What is that equation telling us? [Edit: 10:07 I got 3.49. Did I math wrong? 10:20 if h=0.3, why does that graph intersect the origin? To be honest, the y-axis was too blurry to tell what the numbers were.]
It's true open ai won't have data, so they only train using ChatGPT data hence the research, through the API they don't use any data and this is what IOS will use to interact. Obviously if you link it to your chatGPT then this is on you to check the don't send data option not apple but in terms of them using the API yup no data is collected. This is why I made my own UI and tools using the openAI API. They can't use my data.

Ya know the nature of reality and whatnot is usually what adults speculate about, don't find many kids musing on metaphysical topics. Develop your mind a bit before calling others juvenile there bud.

Yesterday I had an interesting thought. Look at the world, so much major crazy s*** is happening. AI xrisk, civil unrest, massive crime surges, massive protesting, major wars, renewed space race, etc. And most of those could come to a head, nearly at the same time, in the next few years. It feels like what happens near the end of a narrative AAA video game where everything at play is peaking before the game resolves. Could we be NPCs in a futuristic video game simulation?
If so, who is the main player? The answer jumped out: Elon Musk. Who is the one person that is on record as trying to combat or at least somehow involved with ALL OF THAT? Elon. Tesla was created to fight climate change. SpaceX is tasked with creating a human backup plan on Mars. xAI/Grok/Tesla bot for AI. X/Twitter is involved or central to much of the rest. If this was a video game, he'd almost have to be the player. Plus, who is most well known for saying our world is/could be a simulation? Elon of course.
