You being stuck crawling on the floor in Lara's home had me in tears. Love watching your playthrough of these games. EDIT: I personally find many sections in this game very dark, so a small tip to efficiently use flares is to hold select and press the right bumper. This will quick select them and saves a lot of time if you end up using them. This works on modern controls btw. I tested myself before giving off false information (again lol). You can also press the roll button while crouching for her to dash-jump forwards. This has to be performwd when she only has one knee on the ground. When she is actually crawling, she cannot dash-jump.
@@LIZZgameWhen she's crawling I use the button to pull out the guns to make her "sit" and then roll 😆 Looks like you can just press the crouch button once with modern controls to do the same thing. The roll was like a beta thing and it was added in luckily! (much faster than crawling), and the forwards roll jump was added from TR5 😁 Originally you had to do the whole 180 degree turn + grab + drop every time 😆 In fact, I also remember she would "sit" every time you would pick up an item, so it's nice that she can do it while crawling too 😁 probably from TR4 or 5 but I can't remember 😆
21:36 - "And a mask..." - You've never seen Raider of the Lost Ark with Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones? 43:36 - This is where the demo for Tomb Raider 3 started. This right here was my actual first time playing a Tomb Raider game. I loved it and went on to play all the classic games in order. 45:43 - You can jump up onto that log. I think there was loot up there. 46:56 - "Why ae there save crystals now?" - Maybe because the original Windows version left them in, even though you could save anywhere? As I recall, they acted like health. 1:30:04 - "This is... I don't like this." - Each time you jump straight up, Lara moves forward a tiny bit (but won't fall off ledges), so if you just jump a couple more times, she'll inch forward and eventually grab the edge.

He makes his way through the traps, then carefully adjusts the amount of sand in a bag, so that he can swap it with the idol and not trigger anything. It seems to work at first, then the little platform starts sinking and everything starts falling apart. He's forced to run for his life and gets chased by a giant boulder, which is probably where the inspiration for the ones in the Tomb Raider games came from.
Collectible crystals are an odd one. Crystals were used for saving in the console version. The PC version had unlimited unrestricted saving like this game, but also, for whatever reason, crystals remained in game and worked as full health restores. In this game they are just trinkets I guess?
You didn't have to shoot monkey that takes the key... just be quicker than him :) As soon as you climb go for the key and that's it. May I suggest that you try NG+, especially first game that is, for me, best TR game ever. Just OG tomb raiding, no modern cities or some derelict ships. NG+ is real challenge... there are couple of save crystals through every level and they also heal you to full health (not possible to manually save). No health pickups, every one is replaced with ammo, you start with all your weapons, enemies have more health and hit harder. It really adds to excitement to not be able to save 30 times throughout level... every misstep is meaningful
Best thing about TR3 is after you complete the india location you get you to choose one of three locations. It,s the only TR game that,ll let you do this
Not sure if you read my comment in a previous video but don't forget to pick nevada when you get the choice. Doing it later can really put you at a disadvangement in late game. Thats all i can say without giving spoilers 👍

In case no one else has mentioned, if you do the sunglasses cheat (hold the walk + look button) when loading into her home, the bike will then be waiting for you outside her front door instead of the race track. You can then drive it all through her house.

Liz, from the first position of the crouch (without pressing forword, in the monkey position, let's call it. ), press roll! Or sprint. I can't remember wich one. She will roll forword. It's way quicker. The first time you tried it iside Croft Manor, you pressed forword and she changed her initial position.
Something I just realised about this game while watching your twitch stream earlier on web player, it seems to have inspired metal gear solid 3 with its jungle environment, and that boss battle with that guy throwing fire at you reminded me of "The Pain" boss in mgs 3. I could be wrong tho haha.

The quicksand not being animated is a bug, pretty sure it was fixed in the accidental update but you might be done with the game by the time it's out officially

I don't agree with that at all! Core Design still added completely new features and puzzles in Tomb Raider 4 and 5. TR 4 even came with a level editor and you can find hundreds of great custom levels on the internet, based on the settings of the 4 games and newly created ones. And TR 6 was the first attempt to completely overhaul the gameplay. While Eidos rushed its release and just fired Core Design because it was in an unplayable state, it is absolutely playable with the patches and fan fixes today. It's frustrating how everyone keeps skipping over that game, it's arguably the most interesting one in the series.
I think that Last Revelation was okay (except the going back and forth for a bit), but Chronicles just seemed to be a filler. I did like some of the levels in Chronicles though
@@LIZZgame doubt you'll ever get a fix for the camera, the reason it messes up is because it was never designed in a way to free move the way it does with the modern scheme. Before the camera angles were semi fixed and the look button was based on that setup, with the free floating camera it looks places where it shouldn't. Same with the modern controls, they designed the game around the old controls so slapping on a free form move just doesn't work that well. They would have to recode how everything works for two different schemes which i doubt they would do
It's very fun to watch you play. but so many recordings take away the emotion from the game, the goal is to make it hurt when Lara dies. I still see you the same

(Some key members were against the company to do another sequel so quick, so they quick.) But I played through of level1 for my friends who never play TR1 or TR2, then they all turned to love this game. We even group to the theater for the first movie. This is a good game actually. Modern control is not bad. Tank control is very boring in battle. Your battle video is very enjoyable. Horray!!! If you liked to try more story-oriented games of 90's, I like to make a suggestion - Red Alert 2. It's RTS game. But it's not a hard core RTS game. You smile won't be stoped.

I love parts of both actually. In the end, it all feels like one big game at this point, that continues to change over time.
