Jump Fest in Rotorua. Dad's Army style.

- Dad's Army finally gets to leave Auckland and we take the E bikes to hit up some of the new mountain bike trails in Rotorua. We check out some new trails such as Ma Te Wa and Black house down as well as some old favorite mtb jump trails like corridor and Katore jumps.

That jump you guys are doing at about 1:30, how fast are you going when you hit it?
You need to be going fairly quick. I usually pedal across the flat bit.

Are you familiar with the original tv program called Dad's Army. That is where the name came from. A load of blokes past their prime but still trying.

He crashed on little red riding huck doing the jumps. I haven't actually seen them yet.

hey Lance, great video, any recommendations for ebike riding, eg where you park your car and start riding? which typical trails it's a "MUST"? thanks
That could be a very long answer but as for car parking doesn't really matter. The Tarawera road park is very close to shuttle pick up if you want that. Trails depends on what you like but Eagle vs shark and Te Poaka are great flow trails and Corridor is great fun. So many awesome trails though.
Lance, what a vid! My favourite ever that you have done. Those flowey trails and gaps look amazing. How did the Bullet compare to the usual KTM?
Thanks for that. Similar geometry and travel although the Bullit was a bit smaller. The suspension on the Bullit was plusher. Almost tempted to change the spring on the ktm.
Making me jealous, with all that sun and lovely looking trails, winter here and after storm Arwen just about all the trails up here still closed due to fallen trees 😫 some decent sends there though boys ,enjoy the shred.🏴
Thanks for that. The weather has been very hot and dry lately. I shouldn't complain but almost too hot to ride.

i will be 76 in five days , maybe and it doesn't get better . Fortunately i have a Nox trail bike with the Sachs rs motor 112 Nm. i can go up hill faster than down . 😂

Was a great weekend with some new guys. Dad's Army is a very fluid group with new people joining in all the time. Lindsay spent 9 days in hospital but is now home and doing well.

Nice vid. Bit of a random one but how does the Riverhead road gap compare to AV8R? No problem with AV8R but haven’t tried the road gap yet.
Actually if you watched my video how to jump without crashing I compared those two jumps. They are a very similar feel. Flat take offs onto a sloping transition. I think the Riverhead one you can go slightly faster but the good news is you can't over jump it like you can on AV8A
