    As someone who still plays echoes, its because there really isnt another option. Eve online is no longer available on mobile since they shut down eve anywhere. Believe me, if there was another open world MMORPG that wasnt anime or idle I would do that. But there isnt at the moment.

      I agree but, to their defense, it wasn't the Devs. I had the privilege of getting to speak to the dev team a lot (notable Melos, Tailless_Fox and Cloud) and their passion at the start was palpable. It was the publisher, NetEase, that forced their usual monetisation strategy on a game that didn't need it - and by their own statistics, it's worse off because of it. Suits in an office who've never heard of EVE.

      I would play EO instead of EE but I don’t have a suitable pc

  • @Tasaroo
    @Tasaroo 7 месяцев назад +3

    I personally enjoy EE. I don’t spend much more than Omega subscription and occasionally concord pass.
    I like to build stuff in Highsec like my current project the CyanSea…. Which I probably could have bought with Isk 3x if I just rat… but no fun in it.
    Maybe next I will try to build another capital in one of the Low sec stations. Will I fly it, probably not but I enjoy to build stuff.
    I not care much if other player want to spend a lot, up to them, some buy all the stuff and complain that they have nothing to do in EE…
    If EO would be fully mobile accessible I would likely switch as it is more complex but I don’t have time to play on a pc much.
    So EE is fine for me even with the usual mobile game in app purchases

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  7 месяцев назад

      Basically, you're proving my point. Echoes caters to Capital pilots who want to play alone and safe. It doesn't cater for the groups, the alliances, the pvpers, the industrialists who want to make a profit, to smaller ships, to really anything except this one very specific playstyle.
      Whilst I am glad that you're enjoying it, that's not EVE. That's not what Echoes promised. And at that point, it may as well be an offline solo game.

    • @Tasaroo
      @Tasaroo 7 месяцев назад

      @@captainbenzie I guess that would be online Mobile games for you. Typically short sessions, which makes typical Eve online PvP not so suitable.
      If you look at the typical PvP mobile game it’s more like Waregames in EE, rarely there is something you need hours for it, maybe more 10min at the max. That’s why people stay in Highsec, if you don’t want Null Sec politics and commitment.
      Of course things could be improved, like small ship content, or industry (eg remove insurance, sell stuff to NPC for faction rewards, etc.).
      Also low sec could need some unique content.
      Me personally would play EO if it’s full mobile as I prefer the complexity, but I would still be in relative save HighSec mainly solo / nomadic as a lot of EO player seem to do now.
      I don’t think (not so-) micro transactions will go away soon, there more likely coming to PC too.
      You are not wrong, for me it’s like a solo offline game with an online option (market, exploring in null, missions in low sec etc.)

I hate wasting time, which is limited enough as it is.
    Are there any other mobile games you'd (or anyone else) recommend? Preferably with a market economy. It's honestly painful to see that in writing, I used to be a desktop cpu gamer or nothing, just got older and busier, sad day.

People actually don't have any idea of business model and how this game is mining them. The problem is that neteasy allows that branch to keep alive.

      @@rabidspiders01 "calling me out" when over the years I've worked with EA, Rockstar, CCP, Superbit Machine, SuperEvilMegaCorp, Blizzard, and several other smaller indie studios. Good luck. I don't need to set up my own indie team, I've worked with dozens.
      The really dumbass thing is that none of that matters. All you ACTUALLY need to do is look at EVE Echoes stats over the years, and compare them, year on year. This is publicly available information, by the way.
      In the first year, Echoes had (quite literally) TWENTY TIMES the playerbase that it has currently. Its revenue was TRIPLE its current number. This was naturally even higher at launch, but held solid with a minor post-launch dip for the first year or so.
      Around the time that Nanocores were added, the playerbase dips to around a third of its first year average, revenue drops by a solid half. This then steadily declines with playerbase declining faster than revenue as "big spenders" spend more, but not enough to compensate. It still dips.
      Now we're here, year four. The playerbase is less than 5% of the first year average (and around 2% of it's launch period peak) with revenue down as one of NetEase's lowest games, below its own space game, Infinite Lagrange.
      So "call me out" all you like, be as big of a dickhead as you like about it, none of it matters. Look at the statistics and you can clearly see that the game is spiralling into oblivion.
      "It's a free game that costs nothing" is a lie. You know it, I know it, we all know it. You're being disingenuous. So was Diablo Immortal - are you going to defend the monetisation there too?
      You are defending the practice that turned mobile gaming from a promising new platform in 2017/18 into the cesspit of "freemium" transaction laden garbage that it is today. You are defending a practice that has seeped into mainstream PC and console gaming too.
      Please show me where games like Apex Legends needed to do this pay to win bullshit? Or Fortnite? Heck, even EVE On-line, the game this is BASED ON, is more profitable than Echoes, has been going TWENTY YEARS (still strong) and has NONE of this bullshit.
      And finally, Echoes doesn't even put out new content every month. Even if you class copy-pasted ships that make no sense and are a glorified store update as "new content".
      Your "argument" doesn't stand up. At all.

      The opinion of players that leave matters non to the players that stay, and any decent developer will choose to cater to them first even if a small price tag is attached.YOU'RE NOT A DEVELOPER, AND YOU LEFT THE GAME. YOU "QUITE RAGE QUIT". You have no leg to stand on. The only legitimate complaint you can make is about the free advertising you gave net easy.
