    If you liked the vocals in this one, I also totally recommend Her Wishes, which is the ost of the Eternal Oasis. I also highly, highly recommend Konda Village’s Day and Night Themes and also Liyue’s, Inazuma’s, and Sumeru’s Main Themes. Honestly, the main themes are all breathtaking and do a fantastic job of representing their respective regions.

      For vocal tracks, I also recommend "A Storm, A Spine and a Sanctum (Dvalin's Nest)" and "Hope or Nostalgia". Both have a concert version btw, the 1st one in the 1st anniversary concert, and the 2nd one in the 2nd anniversary concert (but for Hope or Nostalgia, I think I prefer the in-game version).

    This song is from an area in Inazuma called Enkanomiya. This area is based a lot on Greek iconography and mythos so the music also reflects it.
    As for the title, it's a reference to the physical location of this region being literally beneath the ocean.
    The music and architecture difference between Enkanomiya and the island above it, Watatsumi is quite staggering.

    I almost forgot about this song since its in a place I really never go to now in the game. I would love to see you react to more of the world music than battle themes though cuz there are just so many good ones!

      It’s crazy to me that a person could completely miss out on Enkanomiya if they never do the quest on Watatsumi.

      Its one of the most brain dead features in the game, an area that doesnt get updated anymore nor any character mats are needed to be harvested there, (except for the boss that they can easily change location), that area should be removed to diminish the size of genshin. I know that they want to suck up to casuals, so they can go there for aesthetics or pictures, but at least make it an optional dlc, not all casuals want a 3gb area just for the aesthetics.

    I wouldn't stress too much about the talking points after the song is over. While it is nice to hear insightful comments about the track, I mostly watch for your reactions and funny faces you make while listening to cool music. 🙂

  • @sadia6503

    As a violist, that'd be torture to play absolutely not, there's no need to put a violist in something like 13th position for no reason when you've got a perfectly good 1st and 2nd violin right there. It sounds to me like there are 3 upper strings involved so it's probably one of the violins
    Also I've listen to this song on repeat 5 billion times so it's really cool that you liked it! Let me add a fun fact about this song and the songs in this region is that they're very empty and I think the vocals do a very good job of getting that across with the breathiness, they're quite ghostly. This one of course feels adventurous but I like to think that the small ensemble gets across a more intimate adventure than the over world battle themes with their grand full orchestral scores

  • @AnujSuresh0606
    @AnujSuresh0606 Год назад +9

    Theres one interesting thing to note about this particular track. Most of the battle themes are fully orchestrated and have multiple sets of instruments.
    The two battle themes in enkanomiya are instead only played on string quintets (2 violins, viola, cello and double bass). The first track, the one you listened to, also has a bit of vocals mixed in while the second track also has a bit of piano and synths mixed it.

  • @ying0878
    @ying0878 Год назад +6

    Enkanomiya (this location in game) is a lost, abandoned nation deep under the sea. Despite being in Inazuma (basically Japan), it reflects its distance from that culture, instead using a quartet for instrumentation, rather than any of the traditional Japanese instruments used in Inazuma’s OST. But it also doesn’t sound very European, reflecting the ambiguous nature of the background and origins of this civilization.

  • @effortlessfury
    @effortlessfury Год назад +7

    Though your idea for the reasoning for the breathiness is neat, there is no particularly obvious reason for its inclusion. It is still notable, however, for the fact that Genshin very, VERY rarely uses vocals whatsoever. Outside of boss themes, the number of tracks that contain vocals out of the literal hundreds of tracks in the game numbers around maybe ten, and nearly all of them use the same single vocalist. There are theories around possible lore significance, but they're pretty thin at the moment.
    And hey, if you feel a bulletpoint you've acknowledged is worth expanding on further, go for it! If you think about it, using another format for conveying info as an example, one way to format essays is to begin by addressing the points you'll be discussing at a high level, and then the meat of the essay is breaking down those points into the finer details. So, it's okay if you bring up something you noticed while you're listening, that just means we've got something to look forward to you possible talking more about afterward.

      @@CatharsisYT One thing you might be interested to know is that most concert tracks are "hype" arrangements of Genshin Impact OSTs but since you haven't heard the originals, you won't be able to comment on the arrangements (which are exceptionally good in my opinion). On the other hand, there are 43 tracks in the first concert and 28 tracks in the second one (and there are also a few smaller concerts), so looking at the current rate it would take more than a year for you to go through all of them 🙂 So maybe watching the concerts without hearing the originals is not a bad idea after all.
      A compromise solution could be watching all Genshin Impact character demos (55 videos with the total length of 1.5 hours) on the first livestream as if it's a separate concert. That way you will hear about 60-70 percent of the originals before hearing their arrangements in the concerts. Sure, the visuals in the demos could be a little bit distracting (they invested a lot of time and money into them), but on the other hand, these kinds of videos typically get the most views on RUclips in terms of Genshin Impact reaction videos, so it could be worth it. If you decide to watch these demos and use the character demo playlist from the official channel, make sure to watch them in the reverse order (from oldest to newest).
      And lastly, you might want to publish the concert version of "Rapid as Wildfires" as a separate video. I can't tell you why because that might spoil your reaction 🙂 But there is a chance that some people might be searching for this specific video on your channel to see your reaction.

    From what I heard, the vocals is by Venti's CN voice actress. He's a character in-game and is a god of wind. Who is also tied closely to the god of time. And the place where this is from was inhabited by an ancient civilization and is underneath Inazuma, the Japanese-inspired location. But as you can hear, it's nothing like a Japanese track. Really shows that it's distant and it's entirely it's own thing.

    • @Natsu
      @Natsu Год назад +7

      I'm pretty sure the singer in this track is the same one who also performs "Her wishes" (and all of Enka songs, Dvalin's nest ost, main theme etc.) and the name is Zirong Zhu (according to genshin wiki). Venti's CN VA is Miaojiang so it's a different person.
