Holy crap! Just found this gem. Bruce, I’ve always been impressed by talent, but now,I’m even more so.Roger has always been a superstar, but I’m so glad to hear two of my favorite singers get together for this incredible song. Congrats!
Bruce is the humblest superstar! He appreciates The Byrds contributions to Folk Rock, and Roger McGuinn's awesome jangling 12 string signature sound. Cool video!
Nothing but respect for The Boss for featuring Mr. McGuinn and his Rick-12. NO other instrument or musician can master that sound like Roger. No other guitar sounds like the Rick-12.
Roger Mcguinn founding member of the Byrds! He came up with the solo on turn, turn, turn that he plays on his Rickenbacker 12 string guitar with near perfection!
...and here in 2024 he's still doing it!! Largely as a solo act. He's amazing and a very cool cat at that. God bless him and I hope he lives to be 110+ years old.
Absolute magic. Roger has not lost a step. The delight of Springsteen and Miami Steve throughout, but especially when Roger nails the solo, is palpable. Springsteen's harmonies couldn't be more beautiful. Is there anything this man can't do?!? PS to fosbury68: Max's drumming, especially the cymbal work, was perfect. What do you want- Billy Cobham?
Great version!! Bruce is a class act as in this instance as he shows the respect and admiration of a true music fan of Roger. Who has most definitely earned it..
Man they sounded so great together: The E-Street Band, Bruce and Roger McGuinn lone could assume they were playing together since years already.. I cite the line "a time for peace I swear it`s not to late" in a time like our`s were a new treatining war looms over the horizon. Surely hope and pray that this will never happen. Have a good night gals and guys!
As raucous, rocking and rolling as a Springsteen concert is----McGuinn's performances are just as moving---in a quieter and jang-ly way. If you ever have the opportunity to see either, GO!
Her’s actually not finger picking. If you look closely you’ll see he’e using a flat pick. He may be hybrid picking some of it (pick and fingers) but in general he’s deftly using that pick. At the top of his solo the camera clearly shows him with a pick in his right hand. Just fyi, not taking away from his execution of such precise guitar lines. McGuinn is the master of the Rick 12 string.
@@larrypower8659 He is hybrid picking for sure. He sometimes uses those metal things to put on your middle and index fingers too, basically serves as a metal flatpick.
I've been a Byrds fanatic all my life (had to have a Ricky 12 at a very young age.) I enjoy seeing McGuinn in just about any setting. I know Bruce has loved the Byrds from the beginning and he really seems to be having a good time.
When Bruce genuflects to Roger at the end of the song...man, that just tore me up. Justice. Acknowledgment for value received. My respect for Bruce (already high) increased a hundredfold. It's pure class to acknowledge the giant on whose shoulders he's standing.
Sadly, the past several months of Civil Unrest in the USA have proven the wisdom of these Biblical words... Pete Seeger's melody and Roger McGuinn's 12 string, and The Boss' passion - WOW! what a combo...I am still hoping / waiting for the part about "a time for peace"...God Bless America....
No, this was written by King Solomon, King David's son by Bathsheba, probably around 940 BC. It is in the Book of Ecclesiastes and was inspired by God's Holy Spirit, as is all Scripture.
am thinking about a 15 year old bruce driving around jersey and this came on the AM radio then getting to play it with mcguinn and doing the whole byrds sound ... heaven ..
Some say that people are the seasons in a person's life. If that is so, I pray that you stay forever the Spring and Summer of our lives. We never want to see a Fall or Winter BOSS!!!
This is sheer magic - compare this to all the electronic crap that was churned out in the 80's...the sound of that 12 string Rickenbacker is unbelievable :)
Meravigliaaaaa!!! Emozioniiiiiiiii grandiiiii!!!! Era il 1965 ed io impazzivo per the Birds e per questa canzone!!! Sentirla cantata dal Boss mi fa volareeeeee!!!! 🙃🙂😍😘😘😘💘🎸🎶🎸🎶grazieeeeeeee!!!!

The joy on Bruce's face is infectious. Especially after Roger's solo, Bruce just kicked it up a notch for that final verse. During the closing riffs, Bruce knew that they absolutely nailed it. It just doesn't get any better than this.
Roger McGuinn was the sound of the Byrds. His voice and 12 string Rickenbacker was the heart of it.
Ali Mckenzie was the voice
Even David Crosby admitted that
What I would have given to be there... ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
One of those signature opening guitar riffs that sends shivers up your spine.
Ross Gill it really is.
so true.
Still
I dunno I feel like he would rather be doing another song.
Ross Gill like on Mr Tambourine man
Very cool, Bruce bowing to the High Priest of Cool, Roger McGuinn.
Really love the way that Bruce and Stevie admire Roger's playing during his solo.
2:41 Steve Van Zandt’s admiring one of his heroes says it all! This feeling…ohhhh, this is what music is all about!
Yes - he was. True admiration.
Yes - he was. True admiration.
Fantastic.

Bruce, I’ve always been impressed by talent, but now,I’m even more so.Roger has always been a superstar, but I’m so glad to hear two of my favorite singers get together for this incredible song.
Congrats!
During Rogers iconic solo , they (and I ) can't believe it's so breathtakingly unfolding.....
Absolutely fantastic! Great job by Bruce & the great E Street Band playing with the legend Roger McGuinn.
Just when you think you have seen every magical moment with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band another appears.
Bruce is the humblest superstar! He appreciates The Byrds contributions to Folk Rock, and Roger McGuinn's awesome jangling 12 string signature sound. Cool video!
He has reason to be humble. Too bad he shows false modesty/humbleness in public. If he were truly humble, he'd keep his horrible voice silent.
Everytime a friend of mine passes away, i listen to the timeless piece.

Nothing but respect for The Boss for featuring Mr. McGuinn and his Rick-12. NO other instrument or musician can master that sound like Roger. No other guitar sounds like the Rick-12.
Stunning. The respect given to McGuinn (and reverence for The Byrds) is so apparent. They truly played this as a back-up band. Tore me up. Wow....
Thank You for pointing out That Moment… it’s ❤️❤️❤️
Roger Mcguinn founding member of the Byrds! He came up with the solo on turn, turn, turn that he plays on his Rickenbacker 12 string guitar with near perfection!
Even in my childhood that has been one of my favorite songs. The version with Bruce Springsteen was magical.
saint mcguinn...modern music has so much to thank him for....a true pioneer and innovator......
...and here in 2024 he's still doing it!! Largely as a solo act. He's amazing and a very cool cat at that. God bless him and I hope he lives to be 110+ years old.
Terrific performance! First time I see RM is playing a Ric 660/12 instead of his 370/12 Signature.
yes was surprised by that as well ...
Amazing... Roger has to be around 75 now and his voice shows no sign of aging or wear and tear....THE BOSS AND THE BYRD
YES

Springsteen's harmonies couldn't be more beautiful. Is there anything this man can't do?!? PS to fosbury68: Max's drumming, especially the cymbal work, was perfect. What do you want- Billy Cobham?
absolutely ... the crown work on the cymbals was killer ...
The drummer is really good
Sono d'accordo con te jurgen Leo! Max e un grande batterista!
I always knew Roger Mcguinn is a superstar ever since tbe mamas and the papas immortalized him in tbeir song Creque Alley in the 60s
Great version!! Bruce is a class act as in this instance as he shows the respect and admiration of a true music fan of Roger. Who has most definitely earned it..
If he had any class he'd have shut the hell up while a real singer sang.
Man they sounded so great together: The E-Street Band, Bruce and Roger McGuinn lone could assume they were playing together since years already.. Beautiful, forever relevant song, incredible performances, so nice!!
That's why folk music are timeless

This perfomance is absolutly stunning! The respect for one of the best bands in the 60s: The Byrd's. Thank you: Roger Mc Guinn and Bruce Springfield.
Springsteen 🙂
I love that Rickenbacker signature sound. You can't get that from anything else. (I spoiled myself with a 450 and a 360).
It’s damn near impossible to capture that Rick sound with anything but a Rick. I had a Gretsch that was “close”.
He was playing the original Rickenbacker that he recorded with !
2 of the nicest celebrities I've ever met and talked too.
McGuinn is sooo good. Finger picking a 12. Like playing a screen door.
Great image!
Ric 12. God made this guitar for this song. No other guitar can fill this slot

marvelous, the great roger & bruce together on stage
fantastic sound
siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii !
I think its awesome they invited Roger to sing it - after all The Byrds made this song famous, and of course both Roger and Bruce are great guitarists
When Bruce genuflects to Roger at the end of the song...man, that just tore me up. Justice. Acknowledgment for value received. My respect for Bruce (already high) increased a hundredfold. It's pure class to acknowledge the giant on whose shoulders he's standing.
The Boss, What a "Class Act". Such a great cover. I honestly cannot think of anyone who's had more special guests on stage.
Bruce is the ult always willing to share a stage no ego there. It's why he will always be our boss.
Seriously one of the greatest musical performances I have ever seen and heard!
❤️❤️Beautiful song! Thank you! ❤️❤️
Bruce knows. He is the man.

Such a great find..... Roger looking good and fantastic guitar, as always. Bruce sounding good, harmony excellent.... 2 great artists.
Thank you for sharing this great version of this great song. God bless everyone
another rock and roll visionary like Bob Dylan, Roger McQuinn
Bruce es un genio, la forma en que adapta el tono al de McQuinn es increible
It's always nice to see great artists sing together unforgettable hits ❤❤
This song seems very appropriate today. ❤❤❤
Just epic. Nothing more to say.
Lost, confused, confined somewhere in the middle of the Indian Ocean this video is a magical moment
hope you made it through friend
I love everything about this video. Perfect.

roger is great on the guitar. what a neat show.
Two all time greats of music singing a classic song together on stage...doesn't get much better than that
That ending just friggin rocks!
Remember the Byrd’s as I’m 68 but this is a great effort and rendition of this classic
Class of '71, I'm right with you. The Boomer generation, still rocking and right into the KINGDOM . John 3.3, 33.
I’m 70 and there by your side sir, waiting for the snake to strike. I used to love pop music like this! Now it’s all trash! The suits have ruined it.
I just bought my brother a Rickenbacker 1993 Plus.
Dos leyendas de la música y unos verdaderos genios tanto el Boss como Roger melodías para la historia 💪🇪🇦
Love those two and love the Pete Seger Song....great, perfect, thanks for this music...the guitar Riff is so special...thank you..🥰
I can feel the jingle jangle!

I always loved this song. Still do. First time getting to see them perform it. 💕💯💕💯💕
