Marty is both a wise and humble man to step aside and let McGuinn and his guitar shine. And they surely do light up the stage. And Marty himself is truly elated.
None better than Marty interviewing his peers, he definitely brings out the best in them. I'll never forget when he spoke with John Prine, just terrific - John clearly had a good time.
I wonder how many times Clarence played that song with McGuinn using the very same guitar Marty is playing. Clarence was with the Byrds for 4-1/2 years; second only in tenure to McGuinn himself.
My uncle is a priest and I remember him telling me way back then that the lyrics were straight out of the Bible. My reply was " Yeah I know it's taken from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 " Which really shut him up.
EVERY BIT AS GOOD This is every bit as good as the original Byrds version... Four plus minutes worth listening to again and again... The Fabulous Superlatives are on top form. Kenny as usual and spot on vocals and drums. Marty's economy on the B-string Bender shows that he gets it. James Hennighan Yorkshire, England
I wish it had been mixed with it a bit higher in the mix. There's a live recording floating around of the Byrds with Clarence higher in the mix, and he's just killing it. I have a feeling Marty listened to that prior to this performance. I got to play Marty/Clarence's guitar for about five minutes, and it's amazing.
Rickenbacker 370/12 “Roger Mcguinn” edition in jet glo(they are typically maple glo). You can see the signature by his hands. You can still buy a 370/12 from rickenbacker. As you might imagine, they are always pre-order and wait, and a fairly pricey instrument. Any 12 string rickenbacker with toaster pick ups can replicate the sounds albeit it does require compression, the right amp/speaker setup, and so forth. Mcguinn’s special edition model had a built in compressor like he used to use back in the day. Jangleboxes and the like replicate the sound very well.
I wish Marty wasn't trying to show off with all his string bending. Support Roger.....not try to draw attention to yourself. This isn't a country song.
Thanks Marty and the Superlatives for keep this Classic music and real Country Music alive.
I think even Marty is in awe of all this.
I'm always in awe of Marty.
One of my all-time favorites.
It has to be in the top 50 best songs ever recorded.
Plus true meaning of life

Agreed. Marty, Roger and the Fab Superlatives sound, well, superlative!!
I bet Marty likes the Rickenbacker too😅
Love Roger McGuinn's 12 string Ricky. Marty is a killer musician. 👍👍
Roger makes the Rickenbacker a great lead for this fun song 😁😆
Timeless song. McGuinn and Marty Stuart class acts.
So incredible. Marty looks happy as a kid at Christmas.
This is my favorite version of this song.
Keep playing Roger - this is your pay cheque from here to eternity.
He makes the Rickenbacker sound so good 😂
None better than Marty interviewing his peers, he definitely brings out the best in them. I'll never forget when he spoke with John Prine, just terrific - John clearly had a good time.
How humble is Roger mcginn
Martys lick are other worldly
2:38 oh thank god he’s human too
Man the best ever what a sound
Check out Marty the quiet assassin back there on guitar. Laying down licks Clarence White OR ANYONE ELSE would be proud to call their own! Go Marty!
What happens when you combine Pete Seeger Bob Dylan and Roger McGuinn? You get rock and roll magic.
Nice to see the B-Bender back home. Underplayed beautifully, Marty.
I wonder how many times Clarence played that song with McGuinn using the very same guitar Marty is playing. Clarence was with the Byrds for 4-1/2 years; second only in tenure to McGuinn himself.
McGinnis was on PBS several times over the last years. Always a treat.
McGuinn's Pete Seeger impression at the beginning is dead-on.
So nice! Stuart adds some nice guitar in the latter part. That’d be nice if that whole band toured together!
They did, with Chris Hillman for the 50th anniversary of the "Sweethearts of the Rodeo" album.

Roger Mcguinn no pierde el estilo, gran canción
Roger was the sound of the Byrds. Both his vocals and that ringing 12 string Rickenbacker.
Great observation 😁
a great hit song.
Great to see Roger jamming!! I still think he is so cute!! 😊👍❤️❤️🎵🎶
I love it!
Roger McGuinn is awesome.
it's a very uplifting song especially when you hear those first few chords.
Marty, Roger and Kenny is my guitar heaven
I wonder if Roger is thinking, "Where were these guys in 1965?"
Hahaha, Marty was just seven :)
Truly love this song true meaning of life
Oh to have been in that audience that night thanks Marty
It's so dang good that Marty admired Roger who is great 🎉😂❤

Look at Marty having the time of his life.
Damn, tasty licks from Marty

It is THE B-bender! He bought it from Clarence White's widow!🎸💖
@@MarigoldThyme wow!
@@MarigoldThyme marty is worthy of it for sure.

Seriously? You gotta be the only person on the planet who thinks that?
