I watch my grandson and have for his whole life he is now 8 years old and going on 9. I love being his other parent. I stay active because of him.

Yesssss grandkids are the best despite different challenges along the way (I definitely don't have as much energy, so bless those older parents!). It's a privilege to watch and love on them, also nice to send them home after enjoying the snuggles. I was always afraid of "being old" because of grandkids, but nope... the absolute BEST season of life!!

So, Dr. Livingood with that said, does it also hinder grandparents health who for whatever reason aren't able or allowed to spend reasonable time with their grandkids?

I wouldn't say it hinders, but you miss out on those increased benefits of quality time! -LGD Team

Oh, please don't let my son know this, or he'll have my 3 grandkids over here all the time 😂! I love my grandkids to death, but they can drive me absolutely crazy at times. I have a lot of health issues that I inherited from my parents. I have fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease, I have osteoarthritis in my neck, both knees that are bone on bone and in my shouldersand I also have sciatica, a herniated disc, a bulging disc, carpel tunnel in both hands and plantar fasciatis in both feet and hypothyroidism so it's hard for me to walk and get around at times. Don't get me wrong, they are good kids, but my 14 1/2 and 13 year old granddaughters are usually good, but when they start arguing, they just don't stop until they know that they got me aggravated and my 3 year old grandson got more energy than the Energizer Bunny even when the batteries are dead he keeps on going 🤣🤣🤣! Thank god my other 2 grandsons from my oldest daughter that are 18 and 14 are hardly over here, but when they are they don't give me any trouble. So yes, grandkids can make you younger, but they also can make you grayer and older, too 😂!!!
