I want to thank you so much for adressing spasmodic dysphonia, I have one and I've met very few people that deal with it. I'd like to hear more about Donnie's story.

What a great "chat", I felt very moved at times, a gentle conversation about what is potent and potentially very powerful in a persons life. I appreciate the gentle pace as listening and learning can be overwhelming. Thanks to you both Donnie and Irene.

Sounds as if everything is unfolding perfectly as part of the journey… that said I know a number of adults with a later in life spasmodic dysphonia diagnosis and the thing they have all shared is that it came on after getting a regular flu shot… interestingly this voice disorder is listed as a side effect on the inserts… in any case … it’s amazing to follow how Donnie rediscovered his voice and how it all unfolded for him personally…

Struggling with dorsal vagal shutdown. I can force myself to do the mandatory chores, but the clutter is building. My meals are becoming less healthy and quick fixes rather than healthy meals. I feel like my inner teen is fighting the responsibilities adulting requires.

Could this be related to chronic tonsillitis?

I'm so grateful to Donnie for talking about the neglect piece. I can relate so strongly. The way he explained his experience feels so much like my experience. It brought tears to my eyes to hear that and have him articulate it like he did.

When we 'become' ready to make amends, when we are already radically accepting who WE are, we make the amends for our own well being. Going in there with the other person, expecting nothing. I would suggest if we are not very grounded within our own worth, no matter the other person's responses, then don't go there. Not yet.
