The fact that you actually went around the equipment as well showing the ports and connections was a great touch. Not everybody does this. Big plus points!
Aww thanks! I could imagine a beginner getting the main hardwares and then not knowing how to put it together. Getting the right cable can be a mission 😅
Nice, actually this is the controller that I bought my son. Let's see how long he'll use it for.....I like that you talk about monitors and the cable you need to go from RCA to XLR. I feel this may help beginners from hooking up to their home stereo system. 😁
Hi I'm Tony. While bartending 5 years ago a DJ came in to play. I had never seen a real DJ. All night behind the bar I was dancing like crazy. I ran up to him after closing and asked, "what was that?!?" Since I've seen tons, became a promoter, and thrown raves. Now I'm living a quiet sober life. At 51 I am going to start my journey into producing and DJing. I've been writing and playing music my whole life. I am so excited to turn songs into sick beats with even sicker drops. Thank you for the vid. I ordered the FLX4😊

Hi Becky, thanks for this amazing video!!!! Maybe it's time for me to try new things in my life. Thank you very much for giving me new inspiration. A well-deserved compliment all the way from BELGIUM!!!!
I’m really thinking of buying this controller but I’m hesitant because of reckord but I’m hearing some of the features are only available on reckordbox
im just starting out and been searching and trying to figure out what controler to get. I use vurtual dj software and right now i use my mixer from laptop to speakers but after watching this video i know what im goin after thank you .
I’ve been DJ’ing since 1989. 2 years ago I decided to retire from doing it and sold all my equipment. Recently my job laid me off and I spent 6 weeks applying for jobs. Only 1 interview and it sucked! Fast forward to earlier this week. I had a truck I have not driven in a while (1yr), I sold it and decided I’d use the funds and buy some new JBL Powered 700 Series 15’s, 12’s and the 18” EV Low frequency subs. They sound terrific if you wanted to know. I am looking for a new board, never used this one and I’m going to buy it, along with the speakers and headphones. Thank you for the video and for sharing your advice. You may have taught this old dog a new trick and I’m going back to the table! ❤ Tah Tahhhh!
Hi Becky, I just found you channel and subscribed. I've always had a passion for electronic music and hope one day to be able to DJ. Your videos have given me hope to one day reach this goal. I would love to bang out some rave tunes and dance all night like back in the days of the early rave scene, 1989+. Peace, Love. AB. ♥️
Switched from kontrol s2 mk3 to the flx4 a couple of weeks ago - infinitely better and works amazingly well with algoriddim dj pro on the iPad (fully integration and full mapping; just plug and play) Great video, speakers is next on my list (Bose soundlink micro not exactly getting the crowd jumping in my lounge 😂)
Great little vid and brings together what i usually recommend to beginners as well. Working on music / DJing / production courses with beginners at the Lisa Lashes School Of Music currently, so i'll pass this video around to each new course rather than just throwing a bunch of brand names & model numbers at them 😁 Great to see you doing your thing on here and passing on your talents & knowledge to others. Hello my name is jose and im looking into the ddj-800 pioneer and i was told its out dated so what do you recommend the ddj-800 or ddj-flx6-gt or the flx4
so i got the ddj 800 but i want to get the rokit 5 g4 studio monitor speakers but i want to know hwl would i connect them to my ddj 800 cause the speakers dont show that they come with any wires please help ??
How heavy is the software to run? Just to know if any laptop will do or if you need some good CPU grunt. Also shouldn't you need a DAC and Amp since the built in sound cards for most motherboards, especially laptops, is really terrible.
I'm not sure on how heavy the software is to run. It wasn't eating my laptop memory but my laptop is pretty high spec and new. Best to check online for that. As for the amp, the KRK speakers are powered and you have a gain control on the controller. There is an option to connect to an audio interface first from the conctroller and then to the speakers but it depends on how much control you're after and whether you're looking for a stronger, balanced cable signal with an XLR to XLR connection rather than RCA to XLR.
@@BeckySaifMusic Thx for the reply! Can the controller be used to pass sound through from a PC, for example if I'm just watching a movie or something, or is that ineffecient having it run on idle? Just curious since starting out, this equipment needs to be multi functional, since a good pair of speakers shouldn't go to waste, and could be used for other purposes.
Sup Becky :) Merry Xmas! Please could you do a tutorial on making a DnB mix in Ableton? Wishing you and yours a very merry xmas and a happy, healthy, prosperous and creative 2024! Ste/Echelon x
@@BeckySaifMusic Just for putting a mix together. i used to have my own decks about 20+ years ago. I've started learning how to make my own tunes (thank you for your awesome courses!) and it would be ace to try and make some mixes in Ableton :)
Hi Becky, I think you did a good job with the video and that can be useful for lots of people who need to have an idea of what kind of equipment they need to start djaying without wasting money with nothing too cheap or too expensive. Only thing I'd like to add, the FLX4 would work even with Djay app by Algoriddim, and thanks to Bluetooth connection it can be used with an iPad alternatively to a laptop. One more reason to consider this controller as one of the best choice in this price range. Hope this can help other users. Keep doing good contents like this. I've appreciated the way you describe things always with a smile on your face 😊
Great and simple review yet informative. THANK you for the controller and speaker and cable connection part. I have been scratching my head on what speaker would be most easily compatible and all the different inputs and outputs especially since the Flx4 just has 2 rca jacks only and the many speakers I have been looking at have a wide arrange of different inputs. Didn’t wanna have to deal with all kinds of wiring trickery. This speakers seem straight forward. Do you have a recommendation on speakers that might have a bit more ooomph? Does Rokit have a step up with the same connections ?
Hey Becky. Hope you're well. Amazing video as always! I can't believe how cheap this Pioneer controller actually is at around £279 😳. I don't know if I could ever go to controllers as I like the fact I can throw CDs, and flashsticks or plug a computer into my CDJs while at the same time having it plugged into my amp and decent sized speakers if I want to crank it up loud. What I didn't understand in the description for them is it expecting you already have Rekordbox as it says if you have it on your phone (which on phones is free) so is it like trying to palm off people with a freebie version or does it come with the proper Rekordbox you get with their CDJs which is obviously mostly the licence, or used to be years back? Also I love how it says ever been clubbing and seen the DJ and thought that is easy so learn how to do it on them, as I can see the day people doing that getting a club decked out with the older CDJs and their faces going white infront of a crowd when they realise there's no sync buttons or this smart fader gimic 😂! Just glad in a way I'm 42 and learnt in my early teens on 1210s as then you have no choice but to learn to beatmatch which was awesome really as its easier to go across to CDJs from vinyl than the other way! Its funny as everytime I'm spinning the Decks whether be a gig or just a mess around one of the first buttons I go for is to put them on vinyl mode for some reason 🤷🏻♂️😂! Keep up the Amazing work and Awesome videos 😊🎧
Forgot to say I use the HD25's for my DJing and Production and swear by them. There's just something about them that's absolutely spot on for spinning or making my Uplifting Trance!
Its insanely priced for the features available. I just downloaded Rekordbox onto my laptop and everything worked. Definitely worth having one of these controllers for a quick party or gig. It was really light as well. I remember the days dragging records to gigs - my back was ruined! 😅 so glad it's just a usb or controller now.
@BeckySaifMusic Yes I can remember those days of taking every vinyl including all the white labels on top and the bouncers helping me up the stairs with all the boxes of them all 😂

For the price of the flx4 a beginner could buy the entire set up and have some money left for some tracks
How much are the headphones and were can I get them from ❤

Is there any point of buying speakers if you DJ from an apartment and can't make too much noise due to neighbor concerns?
you can DJ in your headphones - I do that a lot on my Twitch stream
