Saw this band (PMBB) in Brisbane during the 80’s and a couple of years later again but this time called - The Concord Big Band -! Very much Basie-style, imo but nevertheless a really great swingin’ band. With Gene one of the most funky/bluesiest pianists around. And Ray Brown is a wonderful bassist. Anyone interested should check out. Gene, Ray and Herb Ellis plus other sidemen recording several albums for the Concord label during those incredible years. Enjoy the ride folks & Cheers!
