Everybody else's video just glides right past it or they breathe on that bolt and it just magically comes out? You are the only person that actually showed that you have to put heat on these damn things!!! Thank you sir

:) No problem. Mapp gas works best, but i used what i had at the time.

Just to clarify something here... This is a good video and a good method for this particular application but it also goes against the laws of thermal dynamics. I've been a heavy equipment mechanic for 33 years and have used heat to remove things for my entire career. When a bolt is seized, the idea is to add heat to the metal around the threads trying not to heat the bolt... This causes the metal surrounding the bolt to expand and release the bolt. However, in this case the heat is breaking down the factory installed thread locking compound, helping to release the bolt but at the same time, the bolt is expanding making it tighter in the threads. So if he would have heated thoroughly then let it cool the bolt would shrink back down and it would come out even easier. I came here looking for a solution and this video delivered... I just wanted to add what I learned from my experience.

Huge breaker bar and a big jack handle or pipe. Put blocks under the harmonic balancer and start cranking with all your body weight. That’s what I’ve always Done.🙌🏽 good video.

MrGriffin23 Engines lil too close to my cutlass, so didn’t want to risk it. Heat with a fire extinguisher seemed safer.

I ended up using a 24mm 12pt socket and 18 inch breaker bar. Locked it into a frame hole and turned the engine over. When I walk back around to check the bolt was out. I heated the bolt for two minutes with MAP gas. Now I can't find a puller to fit the balancer. Had to order one.

Why are you burning it taking a chance on ruining a seal? When you can go to harbor freight buy a $100 Bauer electric heavy duty 1/2" corded wrench and get it off in seconds. Also use a bar or wood to go through the balancer to stop it from spinning
