omg....this guy is the real deal......nobody did help me before !!!! thanks for saving me....im on the right path so much better !!!! u save my life and i got my confident back
Omg! I am gonna cry! This doctor helped me save my my life quality.
Yo dude... Im having the same pain adn going to start now. How is ur situation now
i cant understand properly can someone explained to me plz
Guys i was mewing and one night i had a bad posture while sleeping, next day my jaw clicked but didnt hurt and i think it made my face asymmetrical
@@exoticmeep8523 what about now , are you good?
Why didn't youtube ever return this video when i researched this subject over the years?!?! As a TMD sufferer, this explanation has made the most sense, although i still have questions!
When I was a kid I went to rhe doc because my jaw was popping at basically anything I ate, she basically told me to never eat anything hard ever again in my life,no gum no nuts no hard meats and basically left it at that
I got told the same thing about the same problem.
I like this prespective where the tounge plays the main role in solving plenty of problems related to TMD .
whysomanyspaces?
It's easier to read that way.
bambo it Really Is
This is very interesting, I have had on and off issues w TMJD for about 7 years. This seems a simple enough thing to try.
Are you better now?
I don't have chronic pain but my TMJ is clicking because my bite doesn't fit well from up/down motion. I need to go sideways a bit and I rotate mandible on one side towards the neck (horizontal plane) alongside vertical rotation because my gums and teeth are deeper on one side of maxilla. I also have a posterior crossbite on one tooth that I am dodging doing this movement. When i correct my jaw with hands I can't do a proper bite but my jaw moves up and down without clicking and I can say there's definitely more symmetry.
Mewing actually helped me (after approx 6 weeks) when the clicking became subtle in comparison to state before as the click were more noisy. I also started to use bigger interdental brushes after 6 weeks of mewing on top teeth in comparison to time period before mewing. I'm 35 years old. I am still going to go for braces to do the alignment.
One last word, as Doctor Mike Mew said I used to have huge tongue and no space in mouth as a kid. My mother would tell me now that my tongue would stick out from the mouth all the time. I was also attending a doctor to teach me pronounce but these days when I'm talking my tongue would touch teeth on one side (affected by posterior crossbite) not the other one. Given all these bad habits. I think important to mention is, that my affected side by posterior crossbite is missing a wisdom tooth. I only had 3 to erupt. Maybe there is correlation? Other than that I am sure you need to align the teeth looking at how the joint is built instead of not looking at specifics of the joint. Good luck all!
i watched this at 1.5, saved me alot of time
I'm sayin
Same
old video, was likely new to the filming scene. His newer ones are waaay better
Braces cause tmd.dentists suck.thus man is the only man speaking out openly against unnatural stuff that has orthodontics.
Yup! Braces gave me tmd
@Symbat Sabit I had tmjd from braces, no teeths extractions left side did resolve and I'm starting to mew to help the right side.
@Symbat Sabit thanks a lot, I'm not trusting braces anymore. I have high hopes in mewing but I might be deluded.
@Symbat Sabit Good Luck mate, I might update the tread after a few months of mewing!
@Symbat Sabit I didn't use the little brush, and was eating normally. It was 5 years ago, I don't fully remember, sorry.
Ask a specialist :)
Love your videos man, keep it up.
Keep up the good work
So basically have your resting jaw position be the same as your biting position
I fixed my TMJ by mewing properly, I am 34, now I coach people about that same. The chances are greater the younger one starts mewing, I did at 27. And I ended up developing my own routine, so as to boost results. You might want to google about growth hormone role in recovery time for example, but there is also much more one can do go get better, best, fastest.
i am not sure i have tmd or not, but my left jaw clicks, sometime it clicks but sometimes not.. also when closing my mouth with teeth together it kinda feel light pressure on jaw... all these problem isnt causing any physical pain, but my mental health... i am thinking it would become problematic in future..
Hey. Could you help me?🥺
Unfortunately I seem to have this, I'm attempting to expand my palate and move my maxilla up and forward with my tongue after watching a lot of your videos and I hope I see results
How's it going?
@@name-zv3vv I tried mewing and then I got tmd. I don't recognize it. I had no tmd before mewing and now I do. That's all I know.
@@PastorOogway that's Better now ?
@@RADITZMANGADOKKAN It's not as bad as it was.
What I do, and have been advised to do by someone else who's had experience mewing, is. Switch between mewing with my back teeth together, and mewing with just my front teeth together (I have an overbite). I've found this works fine, so I can keep mewing as much as possible, while keeping it safe.
If I start to feel any issues I can just switch to only touching my front teeth, or just stopping completely temporarily.
@@PastorOogway I have a question
It's like my muscle are tired and flat after having tmj ,and my face seems very tired and have droopy eyelid
It can be fix ? ,i'm very afraid that my face rest like this 😢
My TMJ affects the shape of my face.
yeah same my face is more than slightly assymetrical
Same here
Even chewing on just one side of your mouth will change your face! My muscles are sore from TMD and bulging, not to mention the tinnitus. Just as well i have a big old beard!!
Same but it make it look way better for some reason
Will keeping correct oral posture (mewing) help realign the bite in such a way as he describes? I tried mewing for awhile but I clenched my jaw muscles in order to keep my mouth closed and so it started to hurt after awhile. Any tips on how to do mewing without clenching the jaw?
I have the exact same question.
Same
You need to do it while relaxing your mouth. You want it to be a habit. You teeth should be slightly touching each other. Also lips should be closed.
@@melaynineyahiyahi4988 I have my relaxed mouth too but I have to strain my chin muscles to close my lips I think it's called mentalis strain and golf ball! I'm Mewing and my jaw got less verical and my cheek bones show more but I still have the TMJ the orthodontist gave me from so much retracting and less tongue space! In already talked to facefocused.com and they were very helpful!
@@Sariine436 sorry to hear what the orthodontist did. I guess you need professional help. I have TMJ and its painful, but I just ignore it
It may be over for me pls can somebody talk me more about this
Dr Mew, do you still check comments? Is correcting this problem (in the early stages) possible with correcting tongue posture? Thanks!
i need to know this too. i have jaw clicking everytime i open my mouth and i don’t know if mewing will fix it or worsen it
@@zxorizonn_3111 Hey man. I did a lot of research. Stumbled across info that suggested you push your lower jaw forward at rest. Just slightly, and relaxed. This takes pressure off the joint of the jaw and helps inflammation go down. Still chew normally. But at rest try to do this more. I have been doing this and my jaw clicking has reduced quite a bit.
@@botekate Thank you for coming back to respond to his comment. This small act of kindness is more helpful than you think. Thank you again!
@@botekateexactly, keeping mandible forwards helps. My splint is also designed that way.
Dear Mike
Im having TMD and Im trying to adopt tropic premise but I had a doubt in maintaining TROPIC PREMISE. ie) while chewing my disc moves backward pressing the tissue which cause me pain but why wouldn't happen when our teeth are in contact for 4-8h?
what did you do to fix your tmd
Chewing is a hard force and light contact is not meant to be a hard force. If it is your tmj is really messed up. If you keep your teeth in a bite position your tmj will remodel even if it is not 100% comfortable
i had ortho for an underbite as a child- RPE, reverse headgear, and braces. i am not sure if even though my teeth come together and are straight, if my bite is off or lower jaw too far back. can mewing alone help it come forward (and myo and tie revision) or is an orthotic needed to get the right bite and relax jaw?
Really, splints do not work for everyone. I have 14 years of wearing splints up and down 24/7 and nothing improved ever except pain to the level of incapacitating.
Holy shit now i know whats wrong with me
What about Condylar hyperplasia and joint diseases and posterior disc displacement bc of CH. This needs surgery. Unfortunately
I wanna know too!
thx
WHAT IS THE APPLIANCE. Why is it so difficult to find out
Bro I’m in the same fricking boat. I just wanna know so I can spend $8,000 and move on with my life.
Found another comment that said Bioblock. Google “Bioblock mouth”
I started mewing then i got TMJ. Now one side of my jaw is significantly larger than the other, it bulges out
Same can it be cured
how r u now
@@MrVirgin you did uneven mewing probably ate from one side or something
@@icecreammachine7636 u will have to eat from the larger side softly so that your tongue can clean the food stixking to ur teeth and push em in wards and down making that side of the face thinner then after they are same start doing normal mewing and eat from both side and sleep straight
Probably clenching
4:13 what appliance is he talking about ? Whats it called? And how do I go about acquiring one in us

The website address does not exist anymore. Does anyone have a current alternative?
Very interesting, but unfortunately does not solve my TMJD problem:I do not place my tongue between the teeth,I keep it always on the "spot" ,the problem is that dentist pusched my jaw too far backwards when getting CR bite,so my resting position is much more forward than ICP position which is to back, and my muscles cruched,I can not chew with normal chewing cycles in such a bckward position but using only open-close movement, like a crocodile .Terrible situation.I am almost 57,can not use bone growing procedures, any other suggestion for my case? Thanks!
Debora, the old phrase "if I had a dollar for everytime someone told me that they don't put their tongue between their back teeth...." does come to mind. Sorry but I bet that you do. The front of your tongue might be on the spot but the sides of the back of your tongue is between the back teeth in nearly all modern humans to a greater or lesser degree and I've had endless discussions with people on this.
For 99.5% of the time most people have no idea were their tongue is, and usually when the are aware, they are focused on its position. As such the sample of reference points they use to decide where they rest is completely bais.
Countless times I've engage in this exact conversation then made a full examination, to see scalloping marks on the side of the tongue, showing that in fact the tongue is between the teeth. As a consequence I just don't believe them, and will not until we are able to research the resting position of the tongue in a more precise way.
What a dentist did at some point is far less relevant than what you do everyday. In time I will go through TMD in more detail but being focused on one goal is important. One step at a time. #mikemew
Will our condyle reposition naturally if utilizing the correct tongue posture method? My condyles are too retracted and affecting my tubes.
R Garcia, yes your condyle will preposition. It will always adapt to stay centric when your teeth are in their resting position. If you can learn to keep your teeth in light contact the majority of the time then your condyle will eventually grow to fit that position and will reduce your TMD symptoms.
Just follow the Tropic Premise on all three points, (tongue up, teeth lightly together and lips slightly sealed,) and give it a really consistent effort and you will see improvement in your symptoms. Just don't expect to see obvious improvement until you really start to habitually maintain better oral posture, and that does take time and practice.
@@Orthotropics my ORTHODONTIST said to keep my tongue rolled in my mouth since I kept complaining about a lack of tongue space I had after they were retracting everything
@@Grays_Plays thank you.
What device are you referring to for the love of god that will fix the popping?

Could someone please give me a summary, I understand it very little, I don't speak English
How are you texting in full grammatically correct English then bitch
There's an option with the captions to auto-translate videos into your language.
Ok
Where does the splint go
In the trash
Are orthotics useful to heal the joints temporarily? Will MSE fix headaches and tmj if caused from that? I also have a posterior tie so that can cause pain too. … does dna and alf work?
As an orthodontist i must say that what this very called doctor says is unscientific and it needs to be shit down right now please ask professional help
