But it's absolutely cringe worthy - he makes it sound like all these changes are important to his customers. Joke. A: people drive these things down the street, it is embarrassing with that massive wing. Fact B: I could technically bet money that the average RS customer could drive any previous RS vs this and would not notice any difference. C: its just such a gimmick, bigger mudguard vent, brake vents, and oh so important carbon roof - really, nobody will notice a difference. Just cringe worthy, but I guess they have to say all of this, marketing material.
While I don't think anyone can argue there aren't those who buy the Porsche name, want (and can afford) the latest and greatest and like to be seen in something like the 991.2 GT3 RS, you would be dumbfounded by the number of 991 GT3 RSs that are tracked. In this price range and this caliber of car it is far and away the most 'common' on track compared to Audi, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, McLaren and even Ferrari. Moreover, it is an arrive and drive car. You can drive it to the track, track it all day, and drive it home with only so much as filling the tank with gas. And those who do track GT cars do expect that. So in that respect, these things are VERY important to the car, its customers and the brand. Plus, what are they supposed to do going from the .1 to .2? Go backwards in performance? ;)
@@warboyrb why are u so angry :D u may have a point but i highly doubt that mr preuninger cares what the "usual" porsche customers do with their cars, he is a real car enthusiast so it seems more likely that he is talking to the 20% part who really push those cars and appreciate every little detail. If u find this cringeworthy then ur clearly not seeing the real thing man
I think the admission of those purely aesthetic aero veins leading into the rear fender ducts was the first time I've ever heard Porsche admit something which wasnt necessary or functional, lol.
Well he said the black plastic insert piece was not necessary. The air vein itself is certainly functional. He even said they increased the size and flow.
Great presenter (of course) and the guy from Porsche is always a pleasure to watch (he was the one who jokingly told Chris Harris the gearstick in the 911R controls the radio right?)
his passion self evident, Preuninger a brilliant Eng. its helps when the Interviewer is equally passionate and Preuninger knew this... well done Henry, the best video from Geneva yet..
I should of had more faith in you Andreas - thank you for creating the GT3 touring package.....I will never doubt your level of commitment ever again .
Damm, got to trade the knife in for a scal-pel.......both great guys in the car industry and love Henry's writing style as well as dialogue. Brilliant journalist.
An Excellent presentation for Mr. Preuninger for the new GT3RS. Every detail that was relevant to the car, was explained and I cant wait for the Weissach package to arrive. Many thanks for a great vid.
Wow wow wow. Thats all i Can say. What a super informational interview. All details you dont get anywhere Else or can google up. Keep the good work up!
I love how for Porsche designing the streaks on the side of the intake opening was super aesthetically scandalous bc it “wasn’t functionable” lmaoo i love these guys
Emissions, noise control, and longevity keep that from being in the street cars. The theoretical limits for a flat 6 are just about reached . To get more, you either need to go to higher RPM which lessens longevity, add a turbo/supercharger (won't happen), or go to a flat 8 which is hard to squeeze into a 911 body.
We owe alot to Preuninger. I love how he was almost ashamed to admit that the vanes on the rear intake were purely aesthetic. Overall result of that purist approach is you end up with a car that is almost totally devoid of marketing BS and a pure driving tool.
Also i think this is the first mean looking Porsche. This has a sense of occasion and looks as good as it drives. I would only order this in this green color. Bravo
Andreas is brilliant. I was thinking about keeping my 991.1 GT3 RS and skipping the 991.2 but now I want both. Time to start doing more work around the house to build up the good will bank with the wife.
So is it coming a sub-seven lap-time in the Nordschleife with this 991.2 GT3 RS? I believe that its going to happen. And yes this car its almost perfect for me. Btw listening to Mr Preuninger its a pleasure... the man knows of what he's talking about. Good interview.
I think the best gen 2 gt3 value is the base GT3. Seems the most improved over gen 1 991 gt3. I personally like the gt3 styling more. Cleaner look and easier to drive daily probably compare to the RS.
Once again (and unsurprisingly) Andréas Preuninger comforts his title of "The most interesting engineer to listen to". (Christian von Koenigsegg is second)
It's always such a delight to hear Andreas talk.
I love that he loves to talk as well
Andreas and C. Koenigsegg are the two persons in the car industry I would be able to listen to for hours
Dmitry L even mr. Pagani
Chris Goodwin when he was at McLaren also gave great technical interviews. Check out Chris Harris on Cars McLaren P1 interview.
Yeah me too.
Don't forget Mate Rimac as well.
But Christian von Koenigsegg is easier to listen to in terms of dialect :-D
listening to Andreas Preuninger for hidden technical feature . he knows whats up!
i need to drive he better considering he is the head guy haha
Andres has the best job in the world I'd say haha.
But it's absolutely cringe worthy - he makes it sound like all these changes are important to his customers. Joke.

Mr. Preuninger always gives great interviews! No exception here. Thanks again!
I think the admission of those purely aesthetic aero veins leading into the rear fender ducts was the first time I've ever heard Porsche admit something which wasnt necessary or functional, lol.
Alan Bowers absolutely true. He was almost ashamed of it 😂
Well he said the black plastic insert piece was not necessary. The air vein itself is certainly functional.
He even said they increased the size and flow.
I bet if you would ask Andreas how many bolts is in the car he would tell you hat size & how long their are !! pure passion.
LOL, I’m glad I’m not the only one that got that impression 😅
Long life to the N/A engines!!!!
Andreas knows his stuff. Great to listen to.
There are handfull personalities in current automotive industry that can match mr. Preuninger. Would kill to be his apprentice.
Eddie Panedi they have always been the same since their inception Ferdinand Porsche created the first vw the beetle
Great presenter (of course) and the guy from Porsche is always a pleasure to watch (he was the one who jokingly told Chris Harris the gearstick in the 911R controls the radio right?)
Paul Yeung Cayman GT4 from what I remember!
Hahha, yes that was great 😂
God I love his attention to detail. He seems almost upset about having one small detail on the car that isn’t functional.
Porsche is magic.
No awkward breaks, honesty and at no point did it seem that the interviewee didn't know the answer or what to say about the car. Top-notch job!
Andreas is so genuine/knowledgeable. Great that he is willing to discuss the cars on camera. Great ambassador for the GT department!
3 legends on the stand henry, andreas and a GT3 RS !
I could listen to Andreas talk about something like spring rates for hours. What a guy. And what a machine this car is.
I liked this video before watching it, that's how much I enjoy Henry's interviews with AP.
Sadly only a selected few will ever know its true potential. Amazing car nonetheless.
I could listen to these two speak about this car all day. Can feel their passion and enthusiasm well done 👏🏻
Every time You meet Andreas Preuniger is a pleasure to watch and listen to.
his passion self evident, Preuninger a brilliant Eng. its helps when the Interviewer is equally passionate and Preuninger knew this... well done Henry, the best video from Geneva yet..
Thank you, Great chatting to Andreas , to understand the attention to detail that goes into the GT3
"A lip that's going up like Mick Jagger's" lol.
what ever andreas says is very convincing to me
I can't think of a person in the automotive industry I admire more than Andreas Preuninger. Great interview!
I should of had more faith in you Andreas - thank you for creating the GT3 touring package.....I will never doubt your level of commitment ever again .
It's always amazing to listen Mr. Preuninger talking about GT's.
Best motoring journalist out there! Still in love with the Boxster gts video you did in Mallorca!
Love listening to Andreas talking about his RS products. Great guy
Damm, got to trade the knife in for a scal-pel.......both great guys in the car industry and love Henry's writing style as well as dialogue. Brilliant journalist.
That executive seems really nice person.....andreas
Here's how to do an "interview" shut up and let the dude speak.
such a passionate man i could listen to him for hours
Andreas is a legend, fantastic interview Henry :)
I could watch these two discuss RS cars all day!
Andreas is a great man. He has no competition. I wish he stays head of Porsche GT cars as long as possible.
Very lucky to have Andreas all to yourself for so long. Well done.
That guy's gotta be 6'6"!
I saw a 2018. 718 Cayman S today in that same colour, it looked stunning up close.
Love porsche!
Henry, he's way ahead of you in this interview. You don't even need to ask questions.
Who gave this video a thumbs down seriously!!!!
Great interview Henry and the interviewee is pure Porsche, love it!
Lovely car, great enthusiasm...would love to be a part of Andreas’ team.
Henry really shed some light on this channel.
Preuninger is my idol. His knowledge of his products is so impressive.
I imagine (presumably Dr.) Preuninger’s job to be every german’s dream job, it would almost certainly me mine...
I love how for Porsche designing the streaks on the side of the intake opening was super aesthetically scandalous bc it “wasn’t functionable” lmaoo i love these guys
So, how many wolverines out of ten would you rate this?
10 Wolverines! It's that good! :-)
I always enjoy your interviews of Andreas Preuninger about the new GT models. The only downside is that they keep me poor!
This guy is amazing! Andreas really is knowledgeable. Great interview
Preuningur could speak all day and I could listen. Legendary.
I love the interviews between you two over the years, his passion for performance is reflected in the GT cars
"In the racecar without restrictor the engine can make upwards of 600hp at the same displacement" Porsche need to make a 600hp GT3 now
Emissions, noise control, and longevity keep that from being in the street cars. The theoretical limits for a flat 6 are just about reached . To get more, you either need to go to higher RPM which lessens longevity, add a turbo/supercharger (won't happen), or go to a flat 8 which is hard to squeeze into a 911 body.
I was debating back and forth between buying a GT3 RS or a BAC MONO but I'm sold after watching this video.
What a gentleman.. and obviously fanatic.
We owe alot to Preuninger. I love how he was almost ashamed to admit that the vanes on the rear intake were purely aesthetic. Overall result of that purist approach is you end up with a car that is almost totally devoid of marketing BS and a pure driving tool.
Excellent interview, great explanation from Andreas!
Great interview with all the technical info we like to know
Andreas knows his stuff what a guy, puts shame to other car manufacturers engineers
Another great interview Henry
Love listening to this guy. Great video.
Great video Henry ... fantastic work
Also i think this is the first mean looking Porsche. This has a sense of occasion and looks as good as it drives. I would only order this in this green color. Bravo
You "would"... but you won't, because you can't... lol!
SJW Maniac funny bugger
The look Henry gave to the annoying photographer @10:45 was hilarious. The dude leaning right on top of Andreas to get a picture wasn’t cool.
Good sound the videos from other youtubers can learn from this (hint: they had too much crowd sound). Good detail from this video love it!
What a company spokesman! Beast!
It's odd how satisfying it is to listen to him talk
Perfect racing garage, this GT3 RS and Ferrari Pista with a GT2 RS for the weekend hoon...😍
Damm great video
Andreas is brilliant. I was thinking about keeping my 991.1 GT3 RS and skipping the 991.2 but now I want both. Time to start doing more work around the house to build up the good will bank with the wife.
We need more videos like this
Harry giving the guy who’s filming that look @ 10:45
This guy is the best presenting Auto Executive in the business
Excellent work Henry!
Great interview. This is the car I would want to own and drive.
Lovely interview Henry! ✌️😊
So is it coming a sub-seven lap-time in the Nordschleife with this 991.2 GT3 RS? I believe that its going to happen. And yes this car its almost perfect for me. Btw listening to Mr Preuninger its a pleasure... the man knows of what he's talking about. Good interview.
That was absolutely brilliant
I Love Porsche Especially GT3 RS,great video.Thank's
What a great person to talk to
And engineer
Hi Henry, can you do a comparison video of the GT2RS vs GT3 RS
I think the best gen 2 gt3 value is the base GT3. Seems the most improved over gen 1 991 gt3. I personally like the gt3 styling more. Cleaner look and easier to drive daily probably compare to the RS.
Thank you so much for this!!!
Could listen to Preuninger all day #boss
Thanks, great interview
Great Car, Great interview, Great Video !
10:45 Henry: 'Piss off, mate.' lol
Once again (and unsurprisingly) Andréas Preuninger comforts his title of "The most interesting engineer to listen to". (Christian von Koenigsegg is second)
I was hoping from the title "TELLS US EVERYTHING" there was extra an GT on the way haha
Nice suit Mr. Preuninger
that little band-aid on your finger tip.... you didn't do that while ironing, did you?
thank you
for one
"Brake Coolant"
helper helper
It feels like more than 520hp because it is. =)
See his cheeky smirk. They clearly know there's more horses in there
love the interview...but Henry dont you own an iron?
emilio blanco ...Or a jacket of some sort at the very least ! Still, great interview and even greater journalist.
It's a linen shirt, it's hard to keep crease free especially after hours at a venue. Perhaps a better choice of material might have been sharper.
TheAnubite Or perhaps would it have been preferable to keep it out of his pants ?
josh looking at your writing style I doubt it.
Aaron Chern triggered aren't you?....I knew some ahole couldn't resist
Great job, but there are like 30 shades of green depending on the camera rofl
Humberto Amorim isn't that great
Great presentation !
This guy is honest. I like that.
Pirty motor, keep up the good work Henry.
He's a fantastic engineer.
