Got to say that is one of the best looking bits of fish you have ever reviewed. Chip portion with fish was stingy. 7/10. Points off because of the table being dirty and cloth not sounding clean. Good to see the Blonde Angel again. 😁
Me and my partner love going to our local Morrisons and having the fish and chips. It’s just so tasty and not dry. Is a bit pricey these days, but not surprising due to the current cost of living situation.

Couldn’t have been that bad. They didn’t leave much ! 🐷 complained about the table more than the meals. Which were seen to be eaten with animal gusto. Too many chips ? Ain’t that a good thing ? And dosnt salt come in those containers ? To picky a review for me. Nothing bad to say about the food so picked up on the negatives. My local Morrison’s, so I come out in support. Well done ! 👍
After covid restrictions was lifters Morrisons changed everything made new plates that hold less food to save more on food, portions are tiny now and they cut the menu to make it easier and cook less so less staff too, 168 store used to be packed but now you’ll see maybe a few tables full no one comes to the cafe anymore the food os terrible and yea I work at berwick store
I knew a girl who worked in the kitchen at Castle Bromwich Morrison's in Birmingham. She told me never to eat there as the kitchen was so filthy. I went in there for a coffee after shopping on one or two occasions, and it was really unpleasant. Tables piled with people's leftovers, used napkins scattered on the floor, etc. On a few occasions I've had lunch with my family at a south Birmingham branch of Morrisons. Same thing. Wet, sticky trays, filthy, uncleared tables cluttered with plates and debris, rubbish all over the floor, seemingly endless waits for food. It was a shame, because the meals, when they eventually arrived, were pretty good, and the coffee was really excellent, and the servers were as pleasant and accommodating as they could have been, considering they were working in such a miserable environment. The salt in your film was hilarious though; I'm a gardener and I buy table salt in those sized containers for killing weeds and de-icing customers' paths.
I visited morrisons cafe yesterday and have to say that I saw the fish and chips coming out for other customers and it looked really tastly. I wish I had time to order it. But sadly as I was working in store I had only had a 20 min break ( after I got to the cafe til. I get a 30 min break. Then I hear one menber of staff say she needs a 20 min delay on orders. Needless to say that I could not order a hot meal. A couple of tables had not been cleared, but that is a company staffing issue and no reflect on the staff on duty that day, who I have to say never stopped or slowed down for a second. Well done to the staff for their hard word and friendliness. I worked in the type of catering you provise many years ago and I know the work is demanding
I love seeing people going to another Morrisons cafe as I work in one. I know some times the table can be dirty i sometimes forget when people kindly clean the plates away themselves you don’t see if it’s dirty or not but it’s our job so I totally get it. We have the same situation with salt it’s taking forever for the sachets to come however we have smaller salt shakers, the giant table salt is extreme lol! X
Agree Karl. The little bucket of chips is extortionate. They put their chips up from £1 to £1.50 earlier last year. Used to give you a normal portion too. Last few visits to my local liskeard branches cafe have not been good. Cold food and awful breakfasts
Fish and chips was always one of my favourites from Morrisons cafe, glad to see it's still looking tasty and a good portion. Sorry you had a bad experience with hygiene, that maybe down to a decrease in staff but agree that it should be paramount regardless. Thankyou Lee and Ange x

Totally agree with the score Morrisons has gone down hill with the hygiene its not just the mansfield store but Hartlepool and Teesside Park cafés are the same I used to laugh at the Mrs for keeping Dettol wipes in her bag but makes sense now .. Great vlog anyway 👍

You are a braver man than me as supermarket cafes are normally full of ferral children, miserable people and piped music. The food looked better than I imagined it to be. However I am surprised at that dirty cloth and hope you didn't end up up the road in Kings Mill. Stay healthy and hope you have a good immune system. 🤮.
Am actually truly impressed with the food. It looks amazing for a supermarket. Many chip shops doesn't even sell anything like that fish. I know Morrisons does amazing salads as well.. Regardless of some hygiene issues I have to give this a 8.5 because fish looked good chips looked good peas where good. And it's a supermarket so 8.5 . Good video Lee👍🏻

When I visit England in August there is a Morrisons right across the street from the apt I rent with a cafe, thanks Lee on the ongoing food reviews in supermarkets, it’s an inexpensive option while traveling
We left our breakfast at another Morrison.. place was fifthy.., the high chairs was disgusting.. they had to get it cleaned down to be able to serve again.. foods always been good, shame it ruined the experience x

TBH I am suprised you ate the meal in the same day - one of the issues I have found more than anything with Morrisons Cafe is how long it takes them from taking the order to bringing it to the table.
Lets have you face your nemesis Lee and do a few garden centre cafe reviews - must be loads around you and also yorkshire. Did Morrisons in Brid a while back and the food was excellent. This one about 8 for me
One thing you can always rely on in a Morrisons cafe is that the tables will ALWAYS be filthy and littered with dirty plates, cutlery and cups. The excuse always given is that they're under-staffed, but seriously, how long does it take to remove some used crockery and wipe a table over? It's a shame because the food is okay for the price and they have really good coffee.
Because when there are only 3 staff working and one is cooking, one is washing dishes and one is on till, restocking and refilling coffee machines, there just aren't enough people when it's busy. When you leave the till to clean tables, there are people standing at the till wondering why they aren't being served - because there aren't enough staff members to do all the jobs needed to be done. Direct your anger towards the management who allow the understaffing. Most staff are doing the best they can with what they have.
Used to eat at morrisons regularly, I always remember if you got a breakfast later into the day all the beans would be mushy as they'd been left cooking in a pot all day. Not sure if anyone else remembers this?
I don’t eat fish & chips but they actually looked really good ! Mucky table sums Morrison’s up, they get a lot of things right but a lot of things wrong too ! Ketchup should be for chips only and should be nowhere near the toastie ! 😂
Morrisons used to be brilliant. At the beginning of the eighties there were only two shops, the main one in Bradford and the other in Leeds. I used to go to the one in Leeds. Ken Morrison was a proper Yorkshireman and the prices were low, when he expanded the business he turned Hillsborough barracks into a shopping centre with a big branch at its heart, which was great for me because I bought my first house there. Its not very good since the family sold it, like everything its got worse since others have owned it.
Went to Morrisons on Friday and had fish and chips, the fish was boiling but the chips and peas were warm, have to be fair it was nice. As with you, the table had the last sitters plates left and the table wasn't wiped and had salt over it, just used a napkin and wiped it onto the tray from the previous sitters. 8 from me but only because of the table.
Morrissons caff's have always been decent grub and good value. Its price point sets its level in the market - it doesn't try to be what it isn't - end of. My Mrs always likes the sandwich with a small portion of crisps and some salad with a nice brew - its not trying to be pretentious it just fills a gap - often in your belly ha ha ha
Both meals looked very good! The fish especially looked flakey, freshly cooked, crunchy batter and the chips looked braw, and of course you cleared your plate so it must have been good! I’d have said about an 8/10
That fish looks great! If its like that in all Morrisons, may pay a visit! Better than all the poxy sardines the recent fish and chip restaurants have been serving up. And it doesn't look like there is any skin on the Morrisons one. Fab
The most off putting thing when you walk into a café or cafeteria is being faced with a dirty table. It should not be our job to hunt someone down to clean them . The standard of hygiene is just as important as eating good food

Maybe the table should have been masked it's the small attention to detail that matters. Tables should be cleaned as soon as someone finishes and leaves. The food looked good. I guess they were hoping for frost so they could de ice the paths with the salt.
Funny enough I was thinking about a Morrisons brekky this morning at either Guiseley or Yeadon,(we live in Saltaire) the fish and chips did look good too.
Looked decent apart from the peas, even the toastie and salad looked above standard, tomato sauce though ? 7/10 for me....and Ange definitely speaks with her mouth full 😂
Know what Macca, that all looked very decent 😋 but they have to lose points on hygiene ! Wiping the table with a dirty cloth and no spray is not acceptable, also why can’t we have sea salt these days ? it would have been 8 but it’s 6/10
That looks like a seriously good piece of fish..the portions of chips and peas were dissapointingly stingy though..but the biggest problem I had Lee was the fact you were eating your fish and chips on a table that hadn't been cleaned properly for a long time. I rate the fish and chips 7.5 out of 10...the cleanliness of the cafe gets a 1 out of 10.
Ok this is my confession…. When me and my wife get a day off together which is extremely rare and our daughter is in school we do what any two young adults would do…. Go to Morrisons Cafe for a fish & chips! And a few slices of bread on the side :D we absolutely love a meal there great value for money.
We went to Morrisons last week for lunch. I got Full English with extra chips. My partner had Fish coujon sandwich and chips. Both or our portions of chips looked at least 3 hrs old, dry and cold. My breakfast was fine but also not at all hot however, The fish sandwich was supposed to have coleslaw and tartare sauce. Neither was on the meal. When i went and told the waitress she said oh yeh sorry we have not got any and asked if we would like some mushy peas instead. The cafe is in a supermarket ffs! Why cant they walk 10 yards and get the stuff from the shelves??????
I went to Weatherspoon's in Eastbourne when I was on holiday last August and I ordered the fish and chips and they looked similar to you meal and it was nice pal hope you and the blonde angel liked the food and your mum will be proud of you trying that today.
Hiya Lee! Hello Angie #theblondeangel You’re lucky the Morrisons you are at has the screens in between tables. The one I go to in Harwood, Bolton hasn’t got anything of the sort. Given up going now for any food after last breakfast encounter. No milk for the tea and no sachets of ketchup either. Should hang their heads in shame Now the supermarket is full of milk and sauce but they won’t go and get some off the shelves. I can recommend their gateau’s and cakes for birthdays and events. I bought a strawberry gateau and lemon meringue pie which cost me £23 for the two. The gateau was enormous fresh cream too and could feed 16 people. Same with the lemon meringue pie I can’t rate them at all for restaurant eating as I’m always disappointed nowadays
It looked really good and reasonable value, too. Some restaurants give you unlimited cups of coffee, you got unlimited dose of salts for this meal. Haha!
We have antibacterial wipes on us! shouldn't have to clean our own tables tho better than a dirty dishcloth I'd give it a 7 just because you enjoyed your meals
From looks alone the fish looked a lot better than yesterday's, the peas situation is still quite controversial, I'd assume it got a lower score than the quayside due to the table cleanliness

I think i mentioned on your tescos fish and chips video that my Morrisons is right at the end of the busy main road i live on (Morrisons and another main road at one end and yet another main road, motorway, costco and two pubs at the other end, 20 minutes from Manchester too, if you want convenience this is the place to be!!). It takes 10 minutes to walk to my Morrisons, or in my case wheel to it, so i go there every week for shopping and my Dinner. Had the fish often, it can be a bit hit and miss but more often than not its good. If i dont do the fish i get sausage egg chips and beans, again more often than not its usually good. As for hygiene, cant say ive noticed a problem, a few crumbs and plates etc left over from the previous occupents of the table sometimes but theyre swiftly cleaned up. I like it.
They have a good Fishmongers in Morrisons and Thier fish is always cooked fresh with fresh batter not frozen like the other supermarkets I think it's good value but got to be mushypeas,overall good value,shame about the germs 🤢 and the sachets👍🏴
First thing I look for is a clean table, not just cleared but with a spray and cloth, some places that has gone entirely from what we have seen. Spoons are one of the worst for that! We had Spoons twice this weekend and very dirty :( Huge table salt no no . Not really sure what I thought on the fish , chips a bit of a large portion but remember to have a take out box if you can. Toastie hmm not sure didn't look that good but Ange seemed to enjoy it ... 6 out of 10 for us

As with you, the table had the last sitters plates left and the table wasn't wiped and had salt over it, just used a napkin and wiped it onto the tray from the previous sitters. 8 from me but only because of the table.

Morrissons caff's have always been decent grub and good value. Its price point sets its level in the market - it doesn't try to be what it isn't - end of. My Mrs always likes the sandwich with a small portion of crisps and some salad with a nice brew - its not trying to be pretentious it just fills a gap - often in your belly ha ha ha

Both meals looked very good! The fish especially looked flakey, freshly cooked, crunchy batter and the chips looked braw, and of course you cleared your plate so it must have been good!

That fish looks great! If its like that in all Morrisons, may pay a visit! Better than all the poxy sardines the recent fish and chip restaurants have been serving up. And it doesn't look like there is any skin on the Morrisons one. Fab

The most off putting thing when you walk into a café or cafeteria is being faced with a dirty table. It should not be our job to hunt someone down to clean them . The standard of hygiene is just as important as eating good food

Maybe the table should have been masked it's the small attention to detail that matters. Tables should be cleaned as soon as someone finishes and leaves. The food looked good. I guess they were hoping for frost so they could de ice the paths with the salt.
Do you have to pay extra for bread and butter? Cos I'm thinking of trying the one in yeadon near Leeds ✌️
Funny enough I was thinking about a Morrisons brekky this morning at either Guiseley or Yeadon,(we live in Saltaire) the fish and chips did look good too.
Looked decent apart from the peas, even the toastie and salad looked above standard, tomato sauce though ? 7/10 for me....and Ange definitely speaks with her mouth full 😂
Know what Macca, that all looked very decent 😋 but they have to lose points on hygiene ! Wiping the table with a dirty cloth and no spray is not acceptable, also why can’t we have sea salt these days ? it would have been 8 but it’s 6/10
That looks like a seriously good piece of fish..the portions of chips and peas were dissapointingly stingy though..but the biggest problem I had Lee was the fact you were eating your fish and chips on a table that hadn't been cleaned properly for a long time.
I rate the fish and chips 7.5 out of 10...the cleanliness of the cafe gets a 1 out of 10.

Ok this is my confession…. When me and my wife get a day off together which is extremely rare and our daughter is in school we do what any two young adults would do…. Go to Morrisons Cafe for a fish & chips! And a few slices of bread on the side :D we absolutely love a meal there great value for money.
Decent bit of fish there. And that side salad looked nice.
That fish looked great, but garden peas? You end up mushing them anyway so they don't drop off your fork and roll under the nearest drinks machine.
We went to Morrisons last week for lunch. I got Full English with extra chips. My partner had Fish coujon sandwich and chips. Both or our portions of chips looked at least 3 hrs old, dry and cold. My breakfast was fine but also not at all hot however, The fish sandwich was supposed to have coleslaw and tartare sauce. Neither was on the meal. When i went and told the waitress she said oh yeh sorry we have not got any and asked if we would like some mushy peas instead. The cafe is in a supermarket ffs! Why cant they walk 10 yards and get the stuff from the shelves??????
I went to Weatherspoon's in Eastbourne when I was on holiday last August and I ordered the fish and chips and they looked similar to you meal and it was nice pal hope you and the blonde angel liked the food and your mum will be proud of you trying that today.
I like the crockery. Might check to see if they sell it in store. Fish looked really good.
Nicer fish than the last cafe you raved about Lee and Morrison's are a cafe and they FRY their fish,not frozen.

For value, Morrisons used to let kids eat for free with every adult meal purchased after 3pm, not sure if they still do it
Hiya Lee! Hello Angie #theblondeangel You’re lucky the Morrisons you are at has the screens in between tables. The one I go to in Harwood, Bolton hasn’t got anything of the sort. Given up going now for any food after last breakfast encounter. No milk for the tea and no sachets of ketchup either. Should hang their heads in shame
Now the supermarket is full of milk and sauce but they won’t go and get some off the shelves.
I can recommend their gateau’s and cakes for birthdays and events. I bought a strawberry gateau and lemon meringue pie which cost me £23 for the two. The gateau was enormous fresh cream too and could feed 16 people. Same with the lemon meringue pie
I can’t rate them at all for restaurant eating as I’m always disappointed nowadays
It looked really good and reasonable value, too. Some restaurants give you unlimited cups of coffee, you got unlimited dose of salts for this meal. Haha!
We have antibacterial wipes on us! shouldn't have to clean our own tables tho better than a dirty dishcloth I'd give it a 7 just because you enjoyed your meals

From looks alone the fish looked a lot better than yesterday's, the peas situation is still quite controversial, I'd assume it got a lower score than the quayside due to the table cleanliness

I live local, I would recommend the local TOBY just off the A38 for A sunday Carvery 9/10 1 point deducted as I was paying for mine and the mrs lol

I know what you mean. Hygiene eeeuugh. I've seen them in Costa ,wipe the tables & then the seats & then move on to the next tables. With the same cloth might I add ! All those sweaty bottoms. Then they turn the seats upside down on the tables. I'll stick to what I know. MY OWN Lol🙂

I think i mentioned on your tescos fish and chips video that my Morrisons is right at the end of the busy main road i live on (Morrisons and another main road at one end and yet another main road, motorway, costco and two pubs at the other end, 20 minutes from Manchester too, if you want convenience this is the place to be!!). It takes 10 minutes to walk to my Morrisons, or in my case wheel to it, so i go there every week for shopping and my Dinner. Had the fish often, it can be a bit hit and miss but more often than not its good. If i dont do the fish i get sausage egg chips and beans, again more often than not its usually good. As for hygiene, cant say ive noticed a problem, a few crumbs and plates etc left over from the previous occupents of the table sometimes but theyre swiftly cleaned up. I like it.

They have a good Fishmongers in Morrisons and Thier fish is always cooked fresh with fresh batter not frozen like the other supermarkets I think it's good value but got to be mushypeas,overall good value,shame about the germs 🤢 and the sachets👍🏴

Morrisons cafe food isn’t too bad tbh staff are always friendly just not enough staff too clean and serve shame .
First thing I look for is a clean table, not just cleared but with a spray and cloth, some places that has gone entirely from what we have seen. Spoons are one of the worst for that! We had Spoons twice this weekend and very dirty :( Huge table salt no no . Not really sure what I thought on the fish , chips a bit of a large portion but remember to have a take out box if you can. Toastie hmm not sure didn't look that good but Ange seemed to enjoy it ... 6 out of 10 for us
Fish and Chips looked great. Finding the quality of Food from Fish and Chip shops very hit and miss these days! Shame about the Hygiene issues and that Table Salt wasn't a good look
