  • The number of ground breaking albums released in the 1990's is staggering. Unfortunately it was the era of the CD, and many were and are difficult to come by on vinyl. I chose a few of my absolute favorites from a truly memorable decade of music.

Found a repress of Mazzy Star So That Tonight at Walmart the other night. Was kinda floored.

Cool list GI. I like that you included some fairly obscure choices. I especially loved the call out to ‘Wiser Time’ by The Black Crowes. I have been a big fan of theirs since the first album, but that song in particular is still my favorite to this day!

Wiser Time live is a religious experience! 👌🏼

7:30 oh YES! That’s kinda the only 90s record (including rap) that I don’t have. But I just love the one song. Still would love to have it!

Fantastic selection of albums there, and as I know from my own 90s vinyl they are worth some serious cash these days! Particularly love Amorica, great album - and cover - that’s the only one I have of those. Interestingly they’re all American acts, right? The majority of my 90s vinyl seems to be by UK acts - Depeche Mode, Oasis, etc. tho I was lucky enough to find myself in a record shop in around 1993 that was selling all their vinyl off for £1 a pop so I bought all the albums I could afford at the time, although now I wish I’d cleared the entire shop! I picked up some really nice records including several albums by Dylan and Springsteen among many others.

I liked Porno For Pyros more than Jane's.....still do. U2 did a tune with Roy Orbison around 89/90.
Alot of great bands were swept away because of the Seattle Beatles.
Especially the Brit pop wave of bands that I loved. Shame.
R.E.M. did the same thing as Pumpkins, releasing Dead Letter Office between Life's Rich Pageant and Document.

I’d put Meat Beat Manifesto - 99% on my list. It would be hard to narrow it down to 10 though.
