Except to became cloagged with usual soot in exhaust system, is this mesh really of some use? What if the mesh removed ?

The car would work without. Long term, soot accumulation in the intake, never had a car long enough to see damage if removed 😀

Soot is getting past the DPF? Does the tail pipe have soot in it?

Yes, it has a bit.

@@GicaPhp probably needs a new DPF or that screen will keep blocking up
