You have really expressed a lot of the things I was feeling in August this year. My only child, a son, was leaving to go back to Canada from France to study, and we went through his room together, decluttering and deciding what could go with him, given luggage restrictions. It was tough on both of us, but in the end I was proud of both of us for doing it. I still get a squeeze of my heart when I go in his room to clean, but he's doing well over there, and has reconnected with family and old friends, and has made new ones. Empty-nesting is not for the faint of heart! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel better about it all!
@@TheLadyoftheHouse Oh, I didn't mean to make you feel sad, just to let you know that your video touched my heart in a special way. I know you sometimes wonder if you're making a difference, and I wanted you to know you really are! Sending a hug from a Canadian in Brittany, France!
You look absolutely lovely in that color dress and with your hair! I love how you change it up! I also so value your transparency, integrity and honesty! I feel like what you see is what you get, you are simply you on and off camera! I trust your opinion because of that! Your life book looks stunning and I hope to have one someday 🤍 it was very well crafted! I can see the love you put into it! I also wanted to say I love your videos, as I didn’t have an example like you growing up! You are so feminine, ladylike, full of grace and poise! I love the life you live it truly is inspiring! I look forward to learning more of your lady of the house method! God bless you more and more! 🌹
I bet you had no idea what a great addition Lady would be to your declutter series. I love the constant she is at the end of each video. She is precious!
It is evidently clear who the Lady of the is now 🐕 I don't have a 2nd bedroom, so I will tackle the utility room. For whatever reason, I was recommended your positive tag video of 6 years ago!. That video confirmed my burning suspicion that you truly are the most wonderful human being I've come across in this seemingly infinite tube. I hope you know how special you are. You have so much integrity, discipline & dedication. Get on the ballot & I'll vote for you 🇺🇸 😘 The ability to forgive and to ask for forgivess is truly a gift from God and I practice this often. I personally do not let myself get sucked into buying gadgets and things being pedal pushed, unless it adds REAL value to my life. I encourage any Lady to go and compliment those special ladies in their lives. These things matter. I send love.
Dear Nikki, I was pleasantly surprised when you mentioned me, and it truly made me feel special. Thank You. I'm thoroughly enjoying the decluttering series. Your mention brought back memories of my daughter, who also found it challenging, particularly when dealing with sentimental items. I just love how you look in blues 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙋🏻♀️🤗
Dear Nikki, I was inspired by your favorite L'Oreal lipstick. The perfect color for you (800 Fairest Nude?) was a bit too warm toned for my winter type complexion, but both 560 Simply Mauve and 129 Montmartre look beautiful. When i put them on, I was immediately reminded of trying my mother's lipstick on as a girl. Same scent, same feel, same lipstick tube. Nice memory. She seemed to really like their mascara too
My second bedroom was once my mother's. Now it is a general storage area with clothes closets, a desk, books, laundry, vacuum cleaners, and more. Today I donated one good jacket to Goodwill. I love watching Lady's antics.
Hi Nikki, nice video. The kids grow up so quickly, my husband and I just decluttered our attic and we found so many toys up there that the kids used to play with. We're going to move them all downstairs now and we have a toy room for our grandchildren when they come over they can play with all the stuff. Also, I really appreciate all the ideas that you share with us, the makeup, the perfume, the way you dress, your home, it's all very inspiring to me..
That's a great use for those older toys! I hope they get a lot of use. They definitely don't make toys like they used to. I enjoy looking at a couple of mine from my childhood from time to time and allowed my kids to play with them. It's so nice to know you appreciate all those areas about my videos, thank you for letting me know. It really helps to inspire me 🌹
Lady is too cute!! She reminds me of my Maltese/poodle when he was a puppy. I’m really liking this decluttering series. I certainly have things that I need to declutter.
great video . .that puppy is adorable! It is a blessing to be there for all the seasons of our children's growth .. and for me my grandchildren as well. God bless you!
I am currently going through our entire house. We have 3 children ages 4-9 and my husband is currently remodeling our kitchen and bathroom. I feel like we are both very much involved in our tasks but we are definitely making progress. I love that my 4 year old loves to “help” mommy clean and organize.
Hi Nikki lovely video, my 2nd bedroom when my last daughter got married has become my craft room. Before that when the grandchildren were young they had toys and lots of things to play with in there. Now my youngest grandson is 11yrs we do lots of other things. I would give anything to have my children back such a wonderful time in my life. Yes Nikki they learn by example. Loved seeing Lady help with the doona ❤❤
Please excuse me, I have no comment on decluttering. But I do want to say that I am delighted that you have Lady to assist you with your work. Having to pause to relocate her, gives you a moment of pleasure (most of the time?),as you share your love with her. Her “supervision “ of your work, brings a smile to your face. That is a pleasure to see because you are a very giving person. And you have an impressive work ethic. Thank you, Lady, for bringing smiles to a very special woman.
Hi Nikki, We are fitting our master bedroom for a king size mattress so this means downsizing our night stands (3 drawers) and my desk/dressing table ( with 7 drawers). It’s been quite an undertaking to find space for these items. Julie 🌷
I love this series and seeing a video in my feed from you daily! Appreciate your hard work. My 2nd bedroom is my son's. He is growing up and out of clothes from last season and year. I need to go through and pull out those clothes that are too small and donate or store. The donate versus store question is one I struggle with on a personal level for various reasons I am sure many mothers or women at an age on point in life have to consider & be honest. I was in Michaels yesterday picking up a gift for my mom and needed to buy a few colored pencils to add to my collection. I walked around and came to an isle that should just say "Nikki's Isle." Everything in the isle was so lovely and I wanted a lot of it. None of it was on sale yet, so some was a bit pricey not on sale. But I stopped myself. What I have learned is that I can admire something but I do not have to own it. Also, there were a few pieces I loved, but everything should be in your house, not necessarily mine. Beware if you go to Michaels, Nikki!
I'm so glad! Now you KNOW I will have to look, haha! Donating what I am today though will help me be much more selective in the future but you are absolutely right, we can admire something without needing to own it, great point 🌹
Sentimental items, oh what a challenge... Sometimes I have found myself wanting to hold on to things my children want to declutter. When they were around 10 and 12 I found a whole box full of their baby clothes. They laughed at me and asked why on Earth I had saved so many. Luckily one of our friends had just got a baby boy, so we kept only few very special pieces and donated the rest to that precious little one. Win-win😊 I have notest with sentimental items that less really is more. It makes the items you keep more special. Still I find that area very difficult to declutter... Have a wonderful day, Nikki❤
Hi Nikki, thank you for this beautiful video. I would love to purchase your lady of the house diary however am in Australia and I am unable to purchase due to being sold out. Will you release more? ☺️
It shouldn't be sold out, maybe one of the types isn't available in Australia although I wanted it to be made available everywhere possible. It may be only paperback or hardcover is but these are print on demand so they won't sell out.
If your daughter wishes to keep favorite toys to share with her own children someday, I'd support it. My son, now that he has a baby, wishes he had done that.

That's so hard. I feel I'm in mourning even before it's happened.

I'll be using the extra bedroom days to go through seasonal clothing by categories. The footage with Lady helping make the bed is sweet. 🥰
Wonderful idea!
and letting go of the idea of selling the ones that aren't my colors or don't flatter me. It's often a lot of work for little reward.
