Hello friends! Did you enjoy this video format? A little motivation, a little chat and a task to wrap it up. For anybody waiting on an apron, I just added more to my Etsy shop, the link is in the description. Wishing you all a lovely weekend! ~Nikki
Nikki, I love the way you transformed your master bedroom into a chic apartment simply by rearranging furniture, hanging curtains & adding a chair. What a relaxing, luxurious retreat for you & Jorge. I am inspired to finally rearrange my bedroom this weekend.
Hi Nikki, its Sunday evening here in Australia and I have been watching some of your earlier videos to relax....you made me laugh when you said 'witch nails'😂...I just loved that...😂
I agree with the "witch nails!" Reminds me of putting Bugles on our fingers growing up LOL I always wonder how they do anything with them! Button buttons, zip zippers, turn doorknobs, change the radio, *use the bathroom,* etc... I feel better knowing your ring isn't real. I've watched you cook and do dishes without taking it off, which makes me wince. It's so lovely. The color, shape, overall style of it suits you quite well. It's big but simple, and elegant but not gaudy.
You are beginning to shine. Your fun sense of humor is coming through. That just makes you more “real “. That’s not to imply that you weren’t being your true self. It’s that humor is such an important part of our nature . Nowadays, humor is stifled because it might “offend” someone. There’s a great quote from the great Monty Python comedian, John Cleese. To paraphrase, “humor is criticism.” I would say that means the ability to laugh at ourselves and we are more similar in nature than some would like to acknowledge . Years ago, a comedian said (sadly, I can’t remember who to give proper credit ), “ if you can laugh at yourself, you’ll never run out of material .” So true. Thanks for another enjoyable visit with you.
My gramma was the same way! She wore "slacks," as she called them, and a blouse (either short-sleeved button-up in warmer months or long-sleeved button-up with the bow tied at the top) EVERY. DAY. I can't even recall if she wore skirts or dresses to church but she did have a small collection of shoes I'd sneak trying on. She was VERY modest. A quiet church mouse (secretary at her church, actually). Nothing vulgar or unladylike about her whatsoever, unless you count "slacks" as unladylike. Quiet speaking voice. Very quiet laugh. Lots of smiles. No jewelry. Always had her hair in rollers overnight. Covered her hair outdoors with a thin scarf tied under her chin. I miss her so much. Oh, the tissue thing. I'd gotten so lost in nostalgia haha she'd tuck her tissues up her sleeve or in her pocket until they were too used up. She always checked to make sure sleeves and pockets were empty.
Beautiful Nikki, I love when you do these type of videos .I feel like I’am with a friend just spending time .After Covid I started doing my own nails and They are the healthiest I’ve ever had them. My eye lashes natural just mascara . Due too lots of allergies in my eyes and I wear contacts..Thank you for your time with us...
I was supposed to do my nails Friday ...but pushed it to Saturday. But alas, it was actually Sunday afternoon. And when I saw that you posted this I thought, "Perfect! We're doing our nails together." 🙌🏼 💅. I had a friend who had fake lashes and they would fall on her cheek sometimes. But I never said anything because I didn't want to embarrass her. I just didn't know how she would respond because her lashes were something we just never discussed . 🤷♀️ Nikki, your responses to criticism is very self-controlled and well thought out. Great job on explaining your reasons.
Hi Nikki - I also went through a very short phase of trying false lashes. I spent way too much on different ones like the magnetic ones that I never even tried and they sat in my drawer forever, but I did try the glue on ones. They felt heavy and uncomfortable so I couldnt do it for more than a few days! And also I think that they don't look good, especially seeing someone just wear those false lashes barefaced they really stood out and looked awkward to me. About the nail polish remover, Sally's has a really nice one that is all acetone with a bit of a moisturizer. It works really well and doesn't dry out the nail bed and cuticles. It is a pink liquid and not hard to miss in the store. One more thing, about your beautiful ring. I found a gorgeous one online and our 30th anniversary was coming up, I told my husband about it and he had it custom made overseas from a company in Colombia that a couple friends of ours used for their wedding rings. It was about half the price we would have spent here in the States. It is very similar to the one you have. The middle is a 2 carat aquamarine oval stone, surrounded by conflict free diamonds that go around the stone as well as on the sides of the band, and as I have pretty long fingers the band was made wider for me. I love it and it is so special that my DH honored my desire for that ring for our 3th anniversary.
Thank you for doing this video. Your nails are beautiful, thanks for sharing you nail polish with us. I like doing mine on Saturday evening as well getting ready for Church on Sunday. Your channel is so relaxing and interesting I can't believe you dont have more following you. Come on ladies this is the channel to watch. Believe me you will always walk away feeling good. Thank you Nikki for you elegants and grace you always show us.
Thank you Kay! You're so sweet, maybe things will start picking up pretty quick. I'll tell you, it's hard not to compare when you look at other channels and what they do and how fast they grow.
Lovely video! Perhaps you've done this topic already and I missed it, but in case not, since you inspire us, I'm curious who inspires you? Where does Nikki go for examples of elegance? Thank you 🙂
Wonderful question! I have always been inspired by the older women in my life and that I've seen pictured or in films. They always stand out to me, like they know themselves and feel 100% comfortable in their own skin. How amazing to have the opportunity to step into their homes and chat about how and why they do what they do. I pay close attention to the set up of homes from the past as well. They always had a way of making it feel like home and not afraid to have their own style or use color. Fairytales have given me a love of whimsy and charm. I'm also incredibly drawn to old style ballet rooms and good craftsmanship. Tall windows, drapes, extra details, sunlight and all that is regal looking. I feel I could go on and on as to what inspires me though but I hope that names a few.
Mom and I just LOVE YOU SO MUCH, Nikki. Thank you for being you, your videos, your beautiful faith in God, and how you INSPIRE us!! Love and Blessings, Lovely One!! 🙏😇❤
I do my nails Saturday morning. I like to use Essie’s Ballet Slippers for a neutral nail.Your nail polish is such a pretty shade and I love, love, love your ring!!🥰 Princess Eugenie’s engagement ring was pink morganite, so you’re in good company, Nikki. It really is such a beautiful stone.
Lovely, lovely, lovely. Here’s a trick I use to set nail polish - once they are initially air dried, I run them under very cold water and this hardens them beautifully.
That's nice! I don't wear my original wedding ring because we upgraded it many years ago and then again and again. Now you see why I'm "testing this style". Jorge doesn't have his original ring either, that stuff isn't really important to us.
My MIL gets herself a new one every year for their anniversary. (The gaudier and tackier, the better lol) My FIL doesn't wear one at all. I, however, stick with my plain Jane band (seriously, it's just a thin band...nothing fancy, no embellishments whatsoever) and my engagement ring. The latter means far more to me than the band because we designed it together. My husband has a simple, but fun, wedding band and almost never takes it off. Everyone is different 😊
After "targeted therapy," my nails are junk, so I don't paint my fingernails but I am able (and enjoy!!) to paint my toenails. I feel naked when my toenails aren't painted LOL
I have a sense of humor, I promise, haha! I usually edited that out because I didn't know if it was enjoyable to all but I'm not here for all and quite frankly, I'm tired of that so hopefully you will still enjoy my channel as you see, me.
Greetings Nikki. I will be watching later this evening. I'm having one of those days where everything is going wrong. I off to take a quiet walk, pray and ask for direction and a new plan. Catch you later beautiful Nikki.🌺
I wear lashes every day, I'm older and no longer have many lashes of my own, once I put them on I don't think about them and I have found a style of lash that looks pretty natural. Nikki your natural lashes are beautiful no need for fakes. I like London Town and Sparitual polish, I prefer the more natural polishes, makeup, and skincare too. I love to also do my nails on Saturday so I look and feel my best for Church on Sunday. I have other beauty routines I like to do also on Saturday. I loved this video. Nikki I so appreciate you and your work to bring us these wonderful videos. Thank You
You are soo precious! I got my bookmark and you gave me a card also! Thank you! It was such a treasure to see my name written with your hand! The wrapping was a gift in itself. ♥️
I don't, we upgraded long ago and then changed again, and again....now you see why I'm "testing" a style before buying. I was a confused teen when we picked out my 1st one. I don't even regret not keeping it, mainly because that's not what I find treasurable. Thank you!
I wore false eyelashes when I was younger (much younger ;-). But the last time I wore them, maybe 10 years ago, I was so self conscious about it. Now my eyes are too sensitive. When I worked I had silk nails put on and I loved the look. Presently, I do not do anything with my nails. Mainly because I would never get around to redoing them until they chipped and looked awful. I think my natural nails look nice and are a good length. Your bedroom and bathroom are so dreamy. What a lovely area you have created.
Hi Nikki! I love your videos. I paint my nails… on Thursday Nights when I watch Gilmore Girls with my daughters. I use Rosy Quartz too after you mentioned it in one of your videos. Greetings from Monterrey, Mexico. 😘💖
Greetings Nikki. Its late but I finally took the time to watch my favorite RUclips channel.....your the best. You know Nikki, this is very unusual but we are quite similar, I relate to you so well. I too use the rose quarts nail color, I'm on my second bottle. Another one I like is from Essie called vanity fairest. (I hope I spelled that correctly). I like everything natural, elegant, beautiful, and very simple. That is how I enjoy life to the fullest. Prayers for you and your lovely family. Hope you have a relaxing and quiet weekend with the ones dear to your heart. 🍂🍁💛
Dear Nikki.. what a lovely video 💗 since I started watching your videos I now do my nails and toes on my Personal day which is Thursday..This actually helped me to have a day set aside and I feel it’s a little pampering for me. I love that polish and will be looking into it. I enjoyed the music and your beautiful curtains looking into your room. I now hang dry most of my clothes and my undergarments I hang in my closet to air dry. The ring is lovely and I like the idea of trying it out. I’ve been working on my dressing table in a small corner of my room. I’m going to try out and see how it works. I’m quit pleased❤️ thank you for all your hard work. 🍁nancy
I have always admired your ring and just assumed it was real! It is lovely and really suits you and your elegant style. I've always wondered how you keep the end of your nails so white with all the cleaning that you do? I always look forward to your videos Nikki! Thank you for all the inspiration!
Nicki, love this video! My new nail polish of choice is London Town illuminating nail concealer . I just use this a my neutral color or I can use them over another polish.
Loved the video Nikki! Watched this after coming back from my trip to Texas with my hubby and this is exactly the relaxing content I needed🧖🏼♀️💜🌹 I wear false lashes but only the outer edges. I cut them into fourths and place them almost downard, and they look natural, I already have long lashes anyway and they blend in quite well. I usually do that when I don't want to put eyeliner/shadow or mascara so by the end of the day it's easy to take off my face 😅😝 Oh nails! Don't get me started. I love doing my nails! I bought a UV light a while back and it's helped keep them pretty much longer 💆🏼♀️
Nikki there is a jewelry designer who makes exactly what you are looking for! Her name is Heidi Gibson of Heidi Gibson Designs. She has many Art Deco styles and uses lots of morganite. I think you’ll love her designs! 💛💛💛
That ring is gorgeous, I love ovals and mine is an oval aquamarine with diamonds with points around and I love it and get compliments constantly, but I really love how that one has a different size diamond every other. I highschool I kept my nails painted a sheer pink so it lasted a long time... now I rarely get to paint them unless it’s winter or unless I know I won’t be doing and gardening for a few days and have the time and energy to sit and night and do it 🤣
I used lash extensions for 18months. It was very time consuming (infills every 3 weeks at 1.25 hours plus travel ) and expensive but I had a subtle set and loved the look.. I went au natural for awhile but I’ve now started using diy lash extensions called Lashify. They are groups of lashes (called gossamers) that you glue underneath your lashes. I wear a set for 7 days before replacing. Takes me 15-20 mins to do. I only use 8-12mm lengths and brown gossamers so it looks very understated.
I think you would LOVE OPI passion it’s amazing 🤩. I could not stop laughing 😂 when you said “you must be a witch”. I have no idea how people have their nails like that either lol. I would poke myself in the eye everytime I itch my eyes lol.
I love this format as it's very relaxing. It's like chatting with friends. I have purchased false eyelashes and watched videos on how to apply them...however I've never tried them. I'm afraid the glue will damage the original lashes, or harm my eyes.(I know this is catastrophic thinking.😳) I've been blessed with long lashes and I'm happy with them. I must admit I used to go for regular manicures and pedicures, but am very reluctant since the pandemic. Thanks for sharing your life with us. You're such a blessing.🌸🌸🌸
When I used to do my nails, I'd do them Thursday night because Thursday was floor scrubbing day. (I NEVER mop. I don't even own one. I prefer scrubbing by hand because it gets cleaner and it's therapeutic to me. I also don't wear gloves. I inherited weird skin and gloves just make it worse. As long as after scrubbing, I thoroughly rinse, wash, and rinse again my hands and follow up with appropriate lotions/oils, it's all good.) After I put the children to bed, I'd give myself a wee home manicure. I'd put some music on and read, too.
Happy Sunday Nikki, I love your ring. I got a new wedding set for my birthday in June. I got rose gold with a morganite. We bought it at Kay jewelers, it’s by Neil Lane. (Designer) It’s pear shaped with the diamond surrounding it like yours. You might like their designs. I do my nails every Thursday. That way the only thing I may have to do is touch up over the weekend. As far as current favorite neutral nail polish it is OPI’s Bubble Bath. Sending love Amy Joleen
Hello Amy! Your ring sounds so beautiful! I love Neil Lane designs and we have always gone with Kay's since my engagement ring. Thank you so much for sharing!
I really enjoy Revitalash eyelash serum, it has worked amazingly for growing my own lashes. I also really like Mineral Fusions nail polish remover bc it works fast and is very moisturizing on my nail beds. 👍💗
I could never wear them every day but I do wear a half lash or a few individual lashes on the outer corner of my eyes if I really want to look extra groomed or for an occasion. But we'll applied eyeliner makes the lashes look more voluminous too. Thank God for makeup😂
Zoya is another polish remover that works well and isn't as harsh. It even works well on red polish on toes. I've tried the Rosy Quartz polish and I think my nails are just a bit too yellow to give it a nice, bright neutral look, so I'm still on the hunt for a nice brightening neutral.
That's so nice to know, thank you! If something works for red polish, it's great! Finding the right shade for our skin tone and nails can be tricky. I hope you find something you love!
I’m a lash artist and go natural most of the time. If I have an event I’ll do my own, a modest set. 🤗 But I don’t fill them that often. I think it’s good to have a healthy natural lash.
Love that ring! Mine is too small to for on my finger. So, perhaps I will try a fake to see if I can find another. I’m wearing lash extensions for the first time. Did it for my 40th. I won’t do it again. I like wearing mascara. I also like rubbing my eyes! LOL. I just bought a new OPI polish called “El Mat-adoring You” it’s pretty with my skin tone. I used to do my nails twice a week. I’m just starting to do them again more often.
Yes, that's how this all started. Well, I could get my others sized, but they just don't suite me. I went with what Jorge liked and that says it all. You're too funny, yes, I like rubbing my eyes too, especially at night when my makeup comes off and in the morning before I put my face back on. Finding a color that goes well with your skin tone is always the challenge. That's why I stick with the one I found, I've spent so much on something that's all wrong.
Loved the video. I do my nails on sunday evening so they are ready for work on monday. For nailpolish: I like essie ballet slippers or mademoiselle. Also sugar daddy from essie (what a weird name) it very nice and neutral. Love from Germany ♥
I must confess, I don't do my nails regularly anymore. I do so much gardening that it feels like a wasted effort, at least during the warmer months. That being said, when I do do them, I like to do them on Sunday evening, when all my housework is done and that usually carries me through the workweek. Like you, I default to a pale pink, like the pink that is used for a French manicure. It is festive, however, to wear a deeper shade for the holidays. 🎄
Sometimes that's best and then just waiting until a special time you would care to have them done. If they do chip with a pale pink, it's not as noticeable and a clear top coat is great for touch ups.
Thank you for another inspirational video, Nikki! My favourite nude nail polish is Limo Scene by Essie. I have fair skin with pink undertones which often makes my hands look red. I find that pale pink exacerbates that problem, but this particular polish colour helps to neutralise it a little bit. xx
My hands look red, too! It's so hard to find a nail polish that looks good on my skintone. I have very fair skin, just as you said. I'll check out the one you recommended. Thank you!
Nail oil is the key!! I use acetone, and wash my hands as soon as I've used it. I am painting my nails with Rosy Quartz right now!! I think I'll have to get a back up, as it's the only pale colour that doesn't go streaky on me. I found this colour through you, so, thanks!! Xx
I polish my nails with a clear gel coat. And I’ve tried the false eyelashes and they just weren’t for me. I’ve gone back to regular mascara. I love watching your videos.
Love the video I also prefer very pale nail polish, I struggle with my nails because they are not strong and I have done acrylic, also gel polish in a salon but it’s expensive and the paint don’t last to long So I decided that I’m going to keep my nails natural and I start using the nails polish that you use and I loved. On my toes I love white paint but I will go tu the salon every 5 weeks to get a gel pedicure because I’m really bad doing them
In regards to fake eyelashes I feel the same I prefer natural with mascara I only have use them for weddings or big events but not always , and I don’t like the nails neither .
😂😂😂 my 14 year old daughter does the witch nails, my 16 year old son paints his nails black, I prefer coffin shaped and wear dip to keep my preferred length. I dabble with "elegant" 😂
I have tile(plain old subway tile), in the bathroom, around the tub. I'd rather have it in white, so what do you think of a white solid bathroom rug, or yellow solid rug, or a print w/both colors in it, then the shower curtain is a light sand color and hues of light and medium blues, and a little bit of brown, It's prettier than it sounds, but it doesn't match the yellow and white. It's a Scripture shower curtain, scattered with verses, I love it. I'd like the window curtain to match the shower curtain. I found another Scripture curtain, but lighter colors. I'm a decorator at heart, lol..I know about colors, how to match things up, I can sew, but this bathroom has me a little stumped. Any ideas. Thanks.
My sister is such a great lash artist and I went to her for a while to get lash extensions but now that I’m back to my regular lashes with mascara I could never go back to extensions ☺️
I have always been a nail biter, but after watching you and Jennifer at the Daily Connoisseur, I have finally given up the habit and now have long pretty nails. I do my nail routine every Thursday night as part of my “spa” night. I use a nail hardener that has a bit of shine but other than that they are natural.
Saturday night for me too! I found an inexpensive nail colour that I love. It's Vanilla Latte by L.A. Colors and it is the perfect nude for my skin tone. The Sache Vite dry fast top coat is also a favorite of mine. Thank you for sharing 🌷
Your bedroom is looking so beautiful. I especially love the curtains between the bedroom and the ensuite. There’s just one little (but big) thing missing, I think some decorative cornice where the wall and the ceiling meet would be the icing on the cake! (I think it’s called crown moulding in America) In my opinion it just brings so much more detail and finesse to a space. Just a suggestion, I think if you look into it you’ll agree ❤️
Thank you so much! You have no idea how much I'd love crown moulding in my bedroom and bathroom but, Jorge said no. He did it in my office which I'm thankful for. I also feel wainscoting is mission on all the walls. Maybe in our next home...
Try a product called Rapid Lash. It's a serum to help grow lashes. It actually genuinely works. I have short sparse lashes and they are now long and there are more of them!
Why do you hang your clothes on that lovely rack with wheels? My daughter and I love it and she has asked for one for Christmas...could you please tell me where I can get one? My 11 year old daughter adores watching your videos! You are her inspiration many days! She has alot of qualities like you and I'm very proud of her! Not many 11 year old girls are interested in being modest or doing something in an original way. Thank you for your example! May God bless and guide you!
How nice to know, I'm so glad she enjoys watching! I hang my clothing on the rack to allow it to air dry because I don't put my clothes in the dryer. The rack was from Amazon but I can't find the specific rack anymore. Here is one that has swirls on it though: go.magik.ly/ml/1ajb4/ I love that she is thinking about modesty at this stage in her life and being true to her style!
@TheLadyoftheHouse Oh thank you for this! The key words on that page are helpful. I've looked for racks and only found boring or retail-style racks. Now I know how better to search 😊
Oh, yes, always wear cleaning gloves. Nikki, you need a pink pair with lace or something around the edges. Perfect for you! During lockdown I got super brave and tried Kiss false nails. It took a lot of trial & error, but the process was a very fun weekly project for me. I could never wear nail polish on my real nails. It always chipped within 24 hrs and dried out my real nails terribly. My fake nails last 2 weeks with not a single chip even though I do all my housework & yardwork. I don't do them really long and file in an oval shape. I just love them and they make me so feel so happy and put together. If you love false eyelashes, go ahead and do them! These little things that give us a polished look are wonderful for lifting our spirits and making us feel feminine.💅💋🌷👗
That would be perfect! That sounds interesting, I love having long nails but mine break easily so I may try that out for a bit. My SIL tried them and gifted some to my daughter to play with which she loved of course. I like knowing how long they lasted you!
Do you use a white fingernail pencil to color the underside of your nail tips? I used to, but cannot seem to find any white fingertip pencils anywhere any more. Your nails look very nice.
I've never used one of those. I find the polish makes the whites of my natural nail look better than with nothing on them at all. It's interesting how that works. Thank you kindly!
My favourite neutral nail polish colour, used to be "Shall We Dance" by Sally Hansen. It was the most pretty pale pink that was icy enough for my skin tone, but they sadly no longer make that colour. I should try the one you suggest. I too have had a love/hate relationship with fake lashes. I loved how you said, "you're not fooling anyone." So true. You can ALWAYS tell, and I remember one time being at Sephora and one of the girls there was helping me and she was wearing the hugest most ridiculous fake lashes, and I was saying to her, "I'm looking for some false lashes that look as natural as possible. I don't want it to be super obvious that I am wearing them...." And the whole time I'm thinking, "As in...the opposite of what YOU are wearing." But it was so awkward and uncomfortable and I kept trying not to put my foot in my mouth with her! It was pretty funny. But like you, in the end, I have mostly given up on fake lashes. They are a lot of trouble....they don't look natural...."You're not fooling anyone".....and they just don't work that well in real life. I find they are great on stage....or for fancy pictures....they look better on the screen than in person. And YOU look beautiful no matter what.
@@marenlatham4349 I found underwear I loved years ago. One day, I went to buy some new ones to replace some older ones and discovered they had stopped making them! Same happened with a brand of jeans that actually fit my waist, hips, rear, AND thighs *perfectly* back when I wore jeans. They must've gone out of business or gotten bought out and discontinued because it doesn't exist anymore. Boo!
I love your Clorox disclaimer! 😂 made me laugh. I was like that but the smell gives me horrific headaches so I only use when I’m seeing signs from the hard water we have. Old habits do die hard!
Haha! They sure do! I use that vinegar and dawn solution for our hard water, I never found Clorox to help with that. Do you leave it on for a certain length of time?
@@TheLadyoftheHouse I spray and go about other chores. Come back a while later. I do it 4-6 Weeks at worst 2 months. Soon as they start appearing. I also got a shower head filter. -The hair u know? 😂 mine doesn’t like hard water.
I quite enjoyed this video and subject, Nikki! I have always loved the look of painted nails - it adds such a feminine polish to one’s look. Years ago, I went through a gel nail phase, and while I enjoyed the durability, it was a costly habit and ruined my natural nails for sometime. While I rarely paint my fingernails anymore, I do paint my toenails in the spring and summer months, and I adore Essie’s Gel Couture polish in the colour Matter of Fiction. I would highly recommend both the colour and formula. I also love the Dior Huile Abricot for my cuticles. I believe you would like that also 🌸
You can get a morganite ring in white gold. They run 2700 in the zac pozen line in helzberg. Same ring Make sure to negotiate, wherever u go. I never knew to do this.
They can do either. During Christmas helzberg offers either a game console like ps whatever or discount. Most jewelers an will do least 10-20 percent. If you want more go at end of the month.. like on last day which is on Saturday. Then see the scramble. 15 and up discount
Back many moons ago I tried fake eyelashes but then my eyelid would feel itchy. I suppose I was allergic to the glue. Then a few years ago My daughter took me to have it professionally done but after chemo my real eyelashes were not strong enough to support them. Oh well! I do French tip on the tips of my nails and clear on the entire nail. My other favorite when I’m in a hurry I might use a pearlized nail polish. I really did enjoy your video and how it all played out. You always make me think of my younger self. 😘
I tried false eye lashes without success at all. Plus they tend to cover up your eye makeup. That’s all I saw was the lashes. Plus I never got very good at it
Your room looks so lovely - the draperies to the bath area I love! I agree completely about eyelashes…I’m surprised the trend has taken off so much because they look so fake and are so easily spotted as extensions…it’s just not a look I think is flattering. I also laughed at your Clorox remark - NOTHING cleans like Clorox in my opinion!!! When it comes to bathrooms, kitchens and needing to kill germs…Clorox is what I’m using…lol!!! I’m wondering if you’re going to come t with new holiday/Christmas stationary this year? I’d love to get some for my holiday letters and used your tree design for last years holiday correspondence. I’d love to see some sort of pretty snowy scene or something that’s holiday/winter appropriate 🤞🤞🤞. Take care 😊❤️
Thank you so much! It's been an exciting change! Yes, I will be creating one, this weekend actually. I'll announce when I add it to my shop. Thank you for your suggestion!
I wash after each wear for everything. I used to wash on the delicate cycle but since I have a front loader, I just wash on the speed cycle. Now I launder my bras by themselves whereas before I would wash them with my dresses in a lingerie bag.
Thank you! Yes, I'd wear it for Halloween or for the holidays but then look back on Christmas for instance and see how uncomfortable I felt. Red makes me uncomfortable so that's why it's not top on my list.
I basically never do my nails these days because I have a new baby... but back when I did do them, I'd usually do them in the evening once my chores were done. In general I'd prefer to have them done for me but it's not possible at the moment.
My go-to polish is so easy to apply: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel. 187 Happiness Followed by the shiny ✨ formula topcoat. Nice size brush. Reasonable price. Thin smooth consistency.
Hello Nikki, I sure love this format. 🤗. Sally Hansen 182... Blush Against the World, my all time favorite nail color, I think you’d love it! Sending much love, I’m a Saturday afternoon nail doer here. 🤍🥰🤍
I am in a stage of life where dresses are not feasible. I am a breastfeeding mom so skirts for now. I look forward to being able to come back to your videos specifically for dress inspiration.
I've gotten so I totally ignore my nails, because if I pay any attention to them (like putting on polish), they will split, crack, peel, anything but be nice; but if I just ignore them, they grow like weeds and I have to cut them back cause they get so long, they interfere with doing things.
Just shave it off and never look back. Some say that's not "feminine" but quite frankly, neither is having a ton of hair on your face that makes you uncomfortable in my opinion.
Shave, wax, sugar, pluck, thread, etc. A million and one ways to go about it. Women have struggled with this for eons, even in ancient times (yes, really!). It's nothing new. Find what works best for you and just do it. And no, shaving WILL NOT make it grow back more/thicker. Big myth. Plucking, waxing, sugaring, etc can make it grow back thinner and more sparse over time, though. Remember the super skinny eyebrows from the early 00s? A lot of ladies who participated in that never grew their natural brows back. It's not a guarantee, but it can happen.
I like lash extensions when they look natural, but maintenance is time consuming and expensive, and yes, it’s like “Instagram makeup” - it looks incredible in photos and in video, but IRL it’s a little obvious that they’re extensions, even if they’re more natural looking. Since I have naturally long lashes (but they’re dark blonde), I get them tinted and permed every six weeks. It looks like I’m wearing mascara, and adding mascara makes them really pop, even in photos and video.
You make me laugh sometimes because we all go through similar feelings. l laughed when you mumbled, "and I 'm sitting here worried about my lashes.":):) By the way, I know you might want to roll your eyes at this but this is purely out of concern. When you came out of your bathroom, I noticed you closed your curtain by reaching up behind you. As a person who has suffered with neck and back pain before, I would definitely recommend you just turn around and close them like closing French doors because that kind of movement can give some bad upper back pain or a crick in the neck and then one can't turn their neck, ect. Like I said, this is just a loving comment. I know I just can't stand it when I perform a task using a movement that strains so many different areas and then I kick myself because I have so much to do but now have to take it easy and rest more than usual. But of course, sometimes the Lord uses those moments I believe to keep us humble and to remind us of how fragile we truly are.:) I know you are one busy lady, too! But yes, just a suggestion so you can stay well and keep bringing us your awesome and lovely videos!:) God bless you!
I appreciate your concern. I look at pain from a dancers perspective. If something hurts after I do it, I know I'm not stretched enough. For example, before I started wearing dresses all the time, any time I would zip myself up, I would get a cramp in my shoulder. Now, since I wear them everyday, my muscles are stretched properly for the activity of zipping and I never get a cramp. You will find me often overextending or doing things in ways others might want to find an easier way to do.
Hello friends! Did you enjoy this video format? A little motivation, a little chat and a task to wrap it up. For anybody waiting on an apron, I just added more to my Etsy shop, the link is in the description. Wishing you all a lovely weekend! ~Nikki
You have a great weekend too and God bless you.
I really enjoyed it! 💜 thank you for another lovely video!
I think it was great. Very personal feel and light n breezy.
Love the format!
Nikki, I love the way you transformed your master bedroom into a chic apartment simply by rearranging furniture, hanging curtains & adding a chair. What a relaxing, luxurious retreat for you & Jorge. I am inspired to finally rearrange my bedroom this weekend.
Thank you so much Diana! I hope you love what you did!
Hi Nikki, its Sunday evening here in Australia and I have been watching some of your earlier videos to relax....you made me laugh when you said 'witch nails'😂...I just loved that...😂
I'm glad you can appreciate that🌹
I agree with the "witch nails!" Reminds me of putting Bugles on our fingers growing up LOL I always wonder how they do anything with them!
Thank you so much Linda! I left a lot of myself out by highly editing. I loved the quotes, they make a lot of sense!
I do my nails on Saturday mornings, after I pray the Rosary, while watching your videos and enjoying my coffee.
Thank you for sharing!
Seeing you check the pockets of your dresses made me smile- I've washed so many "tissue loads" of clothes because I've forgotten.
Yes, the worst!
Love love love curtains going into bathroom. Looks luxurious!
Yes! They are "dreamy".
Thank you!
Thank you Star! How nice that your nails are so healthy now!
Nikki, your responses to criticism is very self-controlled and well thought out. Great job on explaining your reasons.
Nice! Yes, that can be hard, what does one say? Maybe, "you have something on your cheek". Thank you!
Thank you for sharing Sharon! I appreciate the recommendations as well. Your ring sounds so beautiful!
Thank you 🙂
Good question!
Great a question!
You're so kind, thank you! Say hello for me!
@@TheLadyoftheHouse Only expressing the TRUTH! Will tell Mom you say hi! 💖💐😇
I heard that's what the Queen uses! Thank you! I had to take a look, hers is beautiful!
@@TheLadyoftheHouse 🌸💕🥰
Lovely, lovely, lovely. Here’s a trick I use to set nail polish - once they are initially air dried, I run them under very cold water and this hardens them beautifully.
Yes, I love that trick! I have put ice in a bowl of water to dip them as well.
Huh. I've never heard that before. I'll have to try it! Thanks for the tip!
That ring looks perfect on your finger. I love this video format too. I no longer paint my nails they chip all the time. Have a bless day!
Thank you Donna!
I rarely paint my fingernails, but I usually always keep my toes painted. I’m curious why you don’t wear your original wedding ring?
I am noticing a delightful sense of humor on you Nikki, @ 6:59 , too cute. 💗
You seem to know just what to do. I pray you have a better day Penny!
Thank you for sharing that penny, wonderful way to refocus ! I will have to remember that !
Thank You
That's great that you found something that looks natural! Thank you kindly!
You are soo precious!
I got my bookmark and you gave me a card also! Thank you! It was such a treasure to see my name written with your hand! The wrapping was a gift in itself. ♥️
I'm so glad you are happy with it!
OMG Nikki, my mother-in-law just gifted me a clock exactly as yours. That is so cool.
How nice of her!
Hi Nikki, Do you still have your original wedding band & diamond? This new design is fabulous. All the best, Julie 🌷
That's lovely that you embrace your natural nails! Thank you kindly!
Oh my word!! That bathroom In your master with the curtains is STUNNING
Thank you so much Ana!
Enjoy your time together! May the Spirit of God uplift and refresh both of you!! Xo
Thank you!
Hi Nikki! I love your videos. I paint my nails… on Thursday Nights when I watch Gilmore Girls with my daughters. I use Rosy Quartz too after you mentioned it in one of your videos. Greetings from Monterrey, Mexico. 😘💖
That sounds like a fun time to do that activity. I'm so glad you enjoy that polish too!
Thank you so much for watching Penny! I love that polish name, so beautiful! I appreciate your prayers!
🍁nancy
Thank you Nancy! I love that you are doing all those things now!
I have always admired your ring and just assumed it was real! It is lovely and really suits you and your elegant style. I've always wondered how you keep the end of your nails so white with all the cleaning that you do? I always look forward to your videos Nikki! Thank you for all the inspiration!
I'm taking my time this go around, when I see the right one, I'll know. Thank you!
Nicki, love this video! My new nail polish of choice is London Town illuminating nail concealer . I just use this a my neutral color or I can use them over another polish.
I'm so glad you enjoyed this, thank you for sharing Glenda!
Loved the video Nikki! Watched this after coming back from my trip to Texas with my hubby and this is exactly the relaxing content I needed🧖🏼♀️💜🌹
I wear false lashes but only the outer edges. I cut them into fourths and place them almost downard, and they look natural, I already have long lashes anyway and they blend in quite well. I usually do that when I don't want to put eyeliner/shadow or mascara so by the end of the day it's easy to take off my face 😅😝
Oh nails! Don't get me started. I love doing my nails! I bought a UV light a while back and it's helped keep them pretty much longer 💆🏼♀️
I'm so glad you enjoyed this! I'm sure you can do them in a lovely way!
Nikki there is a jewelry designer who makes exactly what you are looking for! Her name is Heidi Gibson of Heidi Gibson Designs. She has many Art Deco styles and uses lots of morganite. I think you’ll love her designs! 💛💛💛
Thank you for telling me about her, the designs are lovely!
That ring is gorgeous, I love ovals and mine is an oval aquamarine with diamonds with points around and I love it and get compliments constantly, but I really love how that one has a different size diamond every other. I highschool I kept my nails painted a sheer pink so it lasted a long time... now I rarely get to paint them unless it’s winter or unless I know I won’t be doing and gardening for a few days and have the time and energy to sit and night and do it 🤣
Yes, I love that feature as well! Gardening can really ruin my nails as well.
Interesting, thank you for sharing!
Nice video. Colors are so soothing. Always inspirational and motivating to get pretty and polished. Thank you! And yes on Clorox👍
Thank you!
I think you would LOVE OPI passion it’s amazing 🤩. I could not stop laughing 😂 when you said “you must be a witch”. I have no idea how people have their nails like that either lol. I would poke myself in the eye everytime I itch my eyes lol.
Hahaha! Yes, if you rub your eye you would poke yourself, I see women do this often and I fear for them!
My question is always along the lines of how in the world do they use the bathroom...if you know what I mean 😬😂😂😂
They shouldn't ruin anything but they can be uncomfortable. I just got my 1st pedicure as an adult and LOVED it!
Happy Sunday Nikki,
I love your ring. Sending love
Amy Joleen
That sounds lovely! Thank you for sharing!
I could never wear them every day but I do wear a half lash or a few individual lashes on the outer corner of my eyes if I really want to look extra groomed or for an occasion. But we'll applied eyeliner makes the lashes look more voluminous too. Thank God for makeup😂
I agree! Love the makeup!
Your dress is everything!!!
And the pockets? 😍😍😍😍
I know, she did an amazing job with the design, I'm so thankful for this dress! It's definitely a keeper!
Ohh I just love peach morganite! Your ring is beautiful, it'll be so wonderful to have it completely the way you like it.
Thank you Amber!
I’m a lash artist and go natural most of the time. If I have an event I’ll do my own, a modest set. 🤗 But I don’t fill them that often. I think it’s good to have a healthy natural lash.
That's nice that you can do them yourself!
Thank you! Yes, some of the names make me laugh! I appreciate you sharing.
Thank you!
@@christinefisher5425you're very welcome, I hope you like it!
It's so interesting that you say this! Yes, I know there are certain colors that do this and I never reach for again. Thank you for sharing!
Xx
I'm so glad you love that one too, it works so well!
I polish my nails with a clear gel coat. And I’ve tried the false eyelashes and they just weren’t for me. I’ve gone back to regular mascara. I love watching your videos.
That's great to know, thank you Jessica!
Nail Envy by O.P.I. Has been a MIRACLE for my nails.
How wonderful!
If my feet weren't so sensitive I'd appreciate getting a pedicure because when I see that women get them done, they look amazing!
😂😂😂 my 14 year old daughter does the witch nails, my 16 year old son paints his nails black, I prefer coffin shaped and wear dip to keep my preferred length. I dabble with "elegant" 😂
Hahaha! You're so funny! Dabbling is great!
It was fun for a while, but the feeling your get when free of them, can't be beat!
I have the same nail polish. It's lovely.
Yes!
How nice to know! I love that you changed this for yourself.
Saturday night for me too! I found an inexpensive nail colour that I love. It's Vanilla Latte by L.A. Colors and it is the perfect nude for my skin tone. The Sache Vite dry fast top coat is also a favorite of mine. Thank you for sharing 🌷
That's wonderful!
LA Colors is surprisingly good quality. And inexpensive!
Essie ballet slippers. That's my neutral. I will do lilac on my toes though
Interesting, I'll look into it, thank you!
Castor oil. Inexpensive, natural, time-tested. Plus it has many MANY other uses.
I was also wondering about the clothes rack. It is so pretty.
How nice to know, I'm so glad she enjoys watching! I hang my clothing on the rack to allow it to air dry because I don't put my clothes in the dryer. The rack was from Amazon but I can't find the specific rack anymore. Here is one that has swirls on it though: go.magik.ly/ml/1ajb4/
I love that she is thinking about modesty at this stage in her life and being true to her style!
@TheLadyoftheHouse Oh thank you for this! The key words on that page are helpful. I've looked for racks and only found boring or retail-style racks. Now I know how better to search 😊
I am new to watching. So far I find very inspirational.
I'm so glad, welcome!
My go to neutral color is "cheerio" by London Town.
I've used that several times on my toes, very pretty!
OMGosh Nikki! Your funny insert at 7:00 made me lol. You’re so fun!
Oh good, haha!
I tried false lashes once, never wore them out in public but they were a big no for me. They looked horrible.
Do you use a white fingernail pencil to color the underside of your nail tips? I used to, but cannot seem to find any white fingertip pencils anywhere any more. Your nails look very nice.
I was wondering the same thing! I was able to find some of those pencils at Sally's beauty supply. Mine was made by Flower 4-in-1nail pencil
I've never used one of those. I find the polish makes the whites of my natural nail look better than with nothing on them at all. It's interesting how that works. Thank you kindly!
I am not sure if Sally Hansen in the rose quartz shade is available here, such lovely colour! Currently, I am using Revlon Corset Affair😊
Thank you for sharing!
Loved your story! Don't you just hate when they stop making something you LOVED!? Thank you for your kind words Maren!
@@TheLadyoftheHouse Why yes I do! And it always happens!!
I do it 4-6
Weeks at worst 2 months. Soon as they start appearing. I also got a shower head filter. -The hair u know? 😂 mine doesn’t like hard water.
Reminder to have any valuable jewelry included on your home insurance - usually a separate rider.
That's a great reminder!
I believe you would like that also 🌸
I'm so glad! Thank you for sharing the polish you enjoy!
I love ❤️ this piano 🎹 theme. I just went to my piano 🎹 to try to play it. 🎵
That's lovely that you can play!
Hi Nikki! Do you do something with your cuticles? 😊
Not usually.
@@TheLadyoftheHouse thank you for answering! This takes me a lot of time. Maybe I’ll try just paint them too ❤️
You can get a morganite ring in white gold. They run 2700 in the zac pozen line in helzberg. Same ring Make sure to negotiate, wherever u go. I never knew to do this.
Thank you! I will most likely get it in rose gold or gold depending. I know, it's not what's best suited for my coloring but I love the combination.
I love the pearlized look, so beautiful! I'm so glad you enjoyed this, thank you!
Saturday for nails as well.
It's nice to have a routine to look forward to!
I tried false eye lashes without success at all. Plus they tend to cover up your eye makeup. That’s all I saw was the lashes. Plus I never got very good at it
Yes, it can get too cake like trying to cover the line, I found anyway.
How often do you wash your dresses and slips/bras? Do you wash them all on delicate cycle?
I wash after each wear for everything. I used to wash on the delicate cycle but since I have a front loader, I just wash on the speed cycle. Now I launder my bras by themselves whereas before I would wash them with my dresses in a lingerie bag.
Love your dress. Have you ever tried red lipstick and nail polish? Would look great with your style - very vintage! 💕💄
And that's a good thing, It's only for a season and less stress!
I have to plan 1 or 2 days before doing nails. No laundry that day.
Good idea!
I'm glad I'm not alone! You *think* they're dry but go to grab a wad of laundry and ope! Nail polish ruined! Grrr!
My go-to polish is so easy to apply: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel. 187 Happiness Followed by the shiny ✨ formula topcoat. Nice size brush. Reasonable price. Thin smooth consistency.
I love they brushes, can't beat that!
Hello Nikki, I sure love this format. 🤗. Sally Hansen 182... Blush Against the World, my all time favorite nail color, I think you’d love it! Sending much love, I’m a Saturday afternoon nail doer here. 🤍🥰🤍
I'm so glad! Thank you for sharing Cindy!
Do you use the same polish on your fingernails and toenails?
Sometimes, like now because I don't really have my toes exposed. In the summer I don't mind a brighter polish on my toes.
I always have a hard time painting my nails, they always bubble. I'm a busy mom of five so, I'm always having to rush while I'm try to pamper myself.
There are seasons that they just don't make sense to keep up with, maybe the toes.
I am in a stage of life where dresses are not feasible. I am a breastfeeding mom so skirts for now. I look forward to being able to come back to your videos specifically for dress inspiration.
Wrap dresses were the only kind I could wear when nursing or button down but that could also take so much time. Baby can't always wait for buttons!
I second the wrap style! Also, women managed for eons in dresses before modern clothing 🤷♀️ but to each their own.
I've gotten so I totally ignore my nails, because if I pay any attention to them (like putting on polish), they will split, crack, peel, anything but be nice; but if I just ignore them, they grow like weeds and I have to cut them back cause they get so long, they interfere with doing things.
That's wonderful!
HAPPY FRIDAY! GOOD TALK NIKKI. SHARED TO THE BURGH!
Thank you Barbara!
Need your advice on facial hair removal..
HI 👋 NIKKI HOW ARE YOU?
LIKE ALWAYS NICE TOO SEE YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY😉
Thank you Rachel!
That's a great way to keep your eyelashes looking natural while enhancing your natural beauty, thank you for sharing what you like to do!
Thank you
My pleasure!
My wedding ring is an oval and I love it
How lovely!
