This is probably the last time my friend Funmi (Loves You) Ononaiye went out. You guys helped to prepare his wings to fly away! It is beautiful the way you all played together...it is bigger than the music business - this is Music!!! God has BLESSED us all by giving us FUNMI ONONAIYE 1968 - 2023. Fly brother fly RIP
Herlin could swing the whole planet. He is truly a connection to the origins of the music in New Orleans. Emmet keeps putting together great musical combinations and great credit is due to him. He is a torch bearer, as is everyone on this great recording.
It is now past obvious that EC is one of the great jazz pianists of this music's long and glorious history, a history which is being explored and extended is each and every one of his solos.
Yeeeeeaaaahhhhhh!!!! That's the shit right there! And happy faces! Reminds me of seeing Elvin live, such joy. Jazz shouldn't be all gangsta scowling bullshit. And Herlin said it right there, "...gave a lot of people a lot of joy..." That's what the music is all about.
yeah - I've seen players smile like that - but they need to be at a level where the physical issues no longer presents any friction for them; no one would say Herlin is a technician, but his level is so high, it's transparent
Great! As a tenor player myself, I have to say I am a huge fan of Stacy Dillard. I have had the pleasure of performing with Herlin here in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Énorme ! (HUGE) Mr Riley , what an epic intro on this tambourine ! A great time to spend in front of my desk for once ! Greetings to all the band and thanks to Emmet for hosting everytime such a high level of music, humanity, and thrills ! >>Peace from Paris

@Meira A, thanks for your beautiful words of encouragement and love for the music. The play list is especially thorough too! 🌹

It's great to see Russell Hall again. Bruce Harris always delights
I was wondering what happened to him.
been listening to this for a month straight, anyone else?
This Emmet session are oustanding and full of joy!!! Nice to be there soon enjoying good jazz
fantastic to see Russell back in the house
First time hearing Stacy Dillard, I believe. Now I need to learn and know more. The band cooks.
The great, great, great,,Herlin Riley!! A legend for any drummer
The groove began with that tambourine and just kept going! Had me tapping my feet, bobbing my head and dancing in my seat 😊
Herlin could swing the whole planet. He is truly a connection to the origins of the music in New Orleans. Emmet keeps putting together great musical combinations and great credit is due to him. He is a torch bearer, as is everyone on this great recording.
Russell Hall has got to be one of the most relaxed bassplayers I’ve ever seen.
It is now past obvious that EC is one of the great jazz pianists of this music's long and glorious history, a history which is being explored and extended is each and every one of his solos.
Welcome back Russell!!!❤🔥🔥🔥….we missed you tooo much !!!
Russell is the shit man. Glad he’s on this
Herlin is so swingin’!
That hypnotic bass line and groove on You Don't Know What Love Is knocked me out, in a good way.

Herlin Riley has started a new category of drummers: those you have to the one that you have to visualize him playing, it's so beautiful and visual!
Thanks!
Wow. That version of Stella by Starlight is really something else. Wow.
Great! As a tenor player myself, I have to say I am a huge fan of Stacy Dillard. I have had the pleasure of performing with Herlin here in Copenhagen, Denmark.
"Harlem Shuffle" would fit right into a Blue Note recording of the early sixties.
that pure tone bass drop at 19:23 is KILLING ME stop
Lots of power in these drums - another great event at Emmet`s.
Wow,,, shades of Art Blake's jazz messengers sounds great
One of the most fun and engaging streams in awhile, absolute perfection! It is always good to see musicians enjoying themselves, as they deserve!
OMG! my happy place - hand clapping and feet tapping good! Loving this so much
Stacy...beautiful playing!
And that very topical Crystal Waters quote in Rush Hour 😊
There was a lot of magic💫
神回です‼︎‼︎
