I Just PASSED my test this morning , only 2 minors 🙌🥳🥳 thank you for all your help and support Travis! This video couldn’t be anymore in time! Good luck everyone for their tests too! 🙏🏻💜
I took without my test without telling anyone, When I passed I got my parents round and said "I've had a big argument with my instructor and he's told me I can't drive the car anymore and hes given me this", passed across the pass letter and they look and just couldn't take it in, I was like well what does it say? then they were stunned haha.
Speeding is the main one, keep your speed down there is lots of mobile speed cameras about recently, don’t tempt fate, stay below the speed limits it’s not worth it, especially in the first 2 years, if people are being impatient it’s their risk let them overtake, you aren’t the one who’s risking getting caught
I also did my test without telling anyone… I just asked my dad to watch my 2 year old daughter while I nipped shopping (I have her full time on my own) I passed my test went home didn’t say anything just handed my little girl my pass certificate and then said “daddy can give you a better life now) that feeling was immense!! 🥰
£100 fine. 3 points on your licence. Increased insurance for 5 years. And you don't get anywhere any quicker. Is it worth it? Also, worth noting, Speed Awareness Courses aren't an option in Scotland.
I passed my test 7 months ago and today it's being taken away as I got 6 points for holding my phone, I was at the end of my street and haven't been gone for even a min from my house! and I am usually a very safe driver I was only going to check for traffic as I was running late for my exam. please be careful to all new drivers its ridiculous how strict they are
Sorry to hear. Hopefully people will read your comment and not use their phone. I hope you manage to get your theory and driving test sorted quickly. Good luck
Oh bummer. Well rules are not being on phone unless ur car is parked and the ignition is off.. I think? Or maybe just parked. Well better safe than sorry 😅
Thank you. I just can’t afford a car so it’ll be a long while until I’ll be able to drive again….and then on my own. I have to be so careful. I am on probation 2 years. Just 6 points and I’ll loose my license and I would have to do it all over again - I can’t let this happen.
A £100 fine is a small problem, it is the points that cost you the money, big money. Your new driver insurance is very expensive add three points to your licence, which you have to disclose to your insurers and your premium might be 25% to 50% higher for three years. Points get removed from your licence after four years despite them supposedly being for three.
New deiver insurance is horrendous..my first policy was more than I paid for the car ...but back when I did mine there was no theory or hazard perception test ...or indeed no 2 year probationary period...but then I didn't buy a car for 4 years after passing my test so that wouldn't have been an issue ...I feel sorry for the younger generation doing it now...
I've had my license two years and I've still got a clean license. Unlike a friend of mine, who smashed into an oncoming car on a single track road because he went tok fast around a blind bend four weeks after passing. He got five points. Its reasons like this that make me want to keep clean, even though it won't affect me the same anymore 😅
I think you should be able to pay to remove points seeing as most companies are greedy nowadays. Think about how much money they’d rake in plus it’s a legit way to make money instead of them gouging our pockets. So let’s say you get done for speeding for example, if you don’t pay the fine, you’ll get points. plus i think fines should have an expiry which means if you don’t pay the fine after it’s expiry date, you get the points
Yep. Passed a year ago and insurance still going to cost me £900 next year with a years no claims! Unbelievable. Need to be 21 to get anywhere near decent price
I’m 3 months into my 2 year probation after passing and am being really mindful of my speed. Also making sure my phones in my bag or glove box. I do wonder if a mini version of the speed awareness course should be shown at the end of the theory test as so many seem to speed. I’m getting fed up of other drivers on my tail but I’m definitely sticking to the speed limits.
I originally got my automatic only license in June last year, but then upgraded to a manual one a few weeks ago. Will my probation period have reset cuz of the new license?
I passed my test over 2 years ago with only one minor fault. Simplest way to avoid points for speeding: don’t do it! Want to avoid driving without insurance etc. don’t do it! 😊 Edit: I’ve not had any points at all in that time (touch wood it stays that way)
