The Cricut Mug Press is the newest Machine from the Cricut Brand. Released March 11th 2021 to the public. Cricut product experts and other social media influencers were provided the machine and materials early to gain interest in the machine. I was not provided anything for this video everything is paid with my own money and no one is compensating me for my views. The Cricut mug press is being compared and reviewed against the BetterSub mug press from Amazon. Cricut retails for $199 and bettersub at the time of this video for $139

The Cricut Mug press did impress me more than I thought it would and I am excited to share with you the pros and cons of this mug press vs the mug press by BetterSub purchased on Amazon. My Review is 100% honest. No one paid me for this content. No products or services were offered or provided for this video. All items in this video were purchased by me out of my own money. - Хобби
Thank you for sharing this video one thing I absolutely appreciate with you is how in detail you are and how even though you’re talking it doesn’t feel like it’s dragging on. Very nice I wish you the best
Wow! You did an amazing job with showing us ALL the intricacies of both presses...I really appreciate you doing this! Thanx SO much! 🥰
My press is coming tomorrow and I'm very excited! Thank you for doing the comparison. I always second guess myself and watching these videos are making me feel better for this purchase. :)
Which Press did you get?
Thank you very much for your honesty I thought you would’ve went with the cricket one but I’m glad to hear that you gave us your true opinion I just love your videos
Awesome review. You really covered all the bases in a clear and up front way, which I really appreciate. I'm looking forward to seeing what other things you do with the presses going forward.
I would love to see if they can do tumblers and stuff.
I really enjoyed this video... thank you for taking the time to do a decent comparison for us
Hi Corinne! Thank you so very much for your complete transparency, I truly appreciate your honest review and I look forward to learning more from your reviews/posts. Many blessings to you & yours!
Latisha
This video deserves a sub…
I take my hat off to you for going that extra mile and paying for the presses, making, editing and posting the video.
It has all the information I need to allow me to purchase a mug press.
Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much! This just made my day!
Thank you for this honest review! You definitely want to use a piece of copy paper around your mugs before pressing when using sublimation ink or it will transfer to the press.
Thank you so much for this very nonbiased review. I was at Michael's yesterday and I saw it but I wanted to see people's thoughts and how it works. This video has given me lots of information about the product and the one from Amazon. I will probably be getting the Amazon one since I like making designs. Again thank you so much
Looking at buying a Cricut and mug press at the moment and I found this to be a balanced critique of the products presented. Many thanks and well done - Subscribed.
Thank you. I appreciate your taking time to compare several variables. You evaluated fairly. Very helpful.
Your reviews are fresh and honest. Thank you.
Corrie, thank you for giving review that's not influenced by companies or agents.
I love your honesty! Thank you for doing this! Also, I have seen other videos where the tape over the design could prevent the color from being a vibrant. I noticed some color was left on the paper in the same spot as the tape. Hope that helps. I'll definitely subscribe. Looking forward to more videos! 🖤
You have to activate through cricut.how sad
Thanks very much for your detailed description of both machines and types of mugs. Very appreciative of your time!
First time i watch your tutorials! Excellent 💪🏼💪🏼thank you for taking the time to help us decide. Cricut machine is beautiful but that is all!
Loved your video!!! I’ve been waiting for this for weeks!!!
I am so glad you enjoyed it!
Good review. At this time, I am not planning on getting any mug press. We have so many mugs in our house already but I think the colors and being able to put your own ideas on the mugs are wonderful and may have been interested a few years ago. Thanks for investing in the tutorial. Really good review. One comment, others have been saying to put uncoated paper around the mug to prevent the discoloration to the cricut mug press.
Love the "hush calm your self " to the cricut machine lol!!! Ty for the review :)
Thank you so much for this information! I’ve had my mug presser for almost 7 months now and couldn’t figure it out. My dye sublimation sheets wasn’t transferring on the mug and I gave up. I just went to Jo Ann and bought the Cricut mug and it work!! I’m so excited!!
Sounds like you were not using mugs made for sublimation. Unless the cricut mugs are on sale I wouldn’t buy them. They are pricey. I recommend 143vinyl for mugs you can use code CORINNE to save on them as well
LOVED YOUR REVIES AND YOU ANSWERED A LOT OF QUESTIONS I HAD.
Me too very professional
Thank you so much for this review. I just got the Bettersub press and I tried an off brand infusible ink. The infusible ink had a different temp than the press suggested, so my first mug was a fail, but I'll try again using the correct temp for the sheets. I am waiting for my sublimation printer to arrive so we'll see how it goes!!! Again, thank you so much for this video review. It's really helpful!!!
Thank you so much for making this comparison video! It gives me a lot to think about.
Absolutely fantastic comparison!!! I love that you didn't get to practice before sharing everything with us. All the other videos I've seen were obviously sponsored by Cricut because they had the presses before they were for sale. So they had time to practice before their videos. I love your honesty and comments on both presses. I almost got one today, got up to the register and because of a price issue, walked out without anything. Thank you again for the true and honest comparison. I sincerely appreciate it.
❣❣❣❣❣
i have the same mug press from Amazon. I have been doing 400f for 3 mins for Infusible Ink and by the manual for sublimation.
Hello Connie thanks for the honest review on them both I'm trying to figure out witch one I want this was very helpful 🤩
Wonderfully thorough and thoughtful review!
Great video. I found a cricut mug press new for $100 on Facebook. And it looks way more convenient to own and use. Also I think the warranty and customer support will be way better with cricut, I hope. But dealing with Amazon sellers... They aren't so great most of the time.
Thank you for this video, I just got my Mug Press. and this was very helpful.
Thanks for sharing. I have a heat press machine that came with 3 additional attachments for mugs and bottles. I was going to purchase the cricut one to go with my Maker, but thank you for saving me the time and money
Excellent review! I have no desire to buy the mug press, but really enjoyed your thorough testing!
Same
VERY helpful video. Just starting my research into this craft and this video seems like a “one stop shop”. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your review and openness!
Thank you so much for the unbiased review and for the comparison that you carried out. I looked at the mug press when it was announced, hubbs and I discussed it and he decided a 5 in 1 was a better option, especially here in Australia, as the cricut mug press does not go on sale here until around November and looking around the $300-$400 Aud mark. The 5 in one cost us $224 aud. Thank you for your honesty :D and have subscribed to your channel. Oh and you have made me more confident to try the mug press I have now. :D
Great video, it's hard to find this comparison, but I came to the same conclusion you did for sublimation and went with the Bettersub Mug press. Thanks for the great detail and comparisons.
When you sublimate use parchment paper between the machine and the cup and it keeps from staining your machine. It really helps! Amazing review!
I agree- protects your machine!
I'm with you about the tape removal, drives me crazy. lol You did a great job on the comparison test. I received my Cricut Mug Press today so I will be trying mine out tomorrow. I have a regular mug press too so I'm not sure the Cricut is going to be a big improvement. Thank you for this video.
How did the cricut mug press do for you compared to the one you were using?
Thank you for an honest review. You are appreciated 💛
Thank you for your sweet comment!
Thank you for your HONEST opinion. Much appreciated!
A good, thorough comparison of both machines. I bought my Maker for cutting fabric for applique mainly and maybe a few other things. I was curious to see what this mug press was all about but I wont be rushing out to buy one, Cricut or from Amazon. It gets really expensive. The infusible ink sheets are eyewateringly expensive and there is no way I could ever afford a sublimation printer but it is good to see how these things work. Thankyou so much.
I brought my mug press at around Christmas sales last year and used AFFIRM which you will find in the list of outside places to charge. I paid mine off in 6 months, but you have choices. Easy way to do craft buying.
You did a great, super comprehensive comparison for the products, thank you so much for doing this! Reviews like this enable more confident purchasing.
Thank you; this was very helpful and thorough. Immediately subd after watching first 2 mins; you gave a very honest and helpful review
Thank you so much for the reviews. Thinking of joining mug craft business and your video made me think of getting myself a cricut press and follow to learn more. Am so new to this field.
There is a lot of cool things you can make with mugs! The color changing mugs are really fun as well. I have a couple more videos using the Cricut Mug Press so be sure to check them out!
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you, sure thing going to check them out so I can learn. Hoping to make some 💰 with time
Great review! Very helpful :) Thank you!
So helpful! Thank you for investing your time and money so we can all learn
I know nothing about sublimation or infusible ink for mug transfers and found your video informative on the two products and gave me some direction on what to watch next. Thank you.
Your video was so great!! Thank you so much!! 💞
Fantastic review. Thanks for the comparison.
I found you today because RUclips put you in my cue! Thank you so much for the awesome unbiased review of these mug press’s. I think it’s butcher or parchment paper that you need to put around your cups would stop your sublimation ink from staining the inside of your Cricut Mug press. Thank you so much for the information of the printer you use for your sublimation ink, as well. I think I might be interested in doing sublimation.😺
I'm so glad you found the video. The bleed wasn't from the cup itself but above it where the gases were releasing.
Thanks for the awesome reviews!
Thanks Corinne for taking the time (and materials) to do this video for us. It was a great video and had lots of info and a great comparison for the machines. I do think the Cricut press would be ok if the price wasn't so high! I do like the other press though. Thanks again!!!
Thank you so much! Very good review
Thank you for this comparison!
i love the disney design. once again thanks for a great video.
Thank you for the review!!!
Ty for your review, definitely helped.
Great review, thanks!
Thank you for your honest opinion!
Very informative video thanks!!!!
Thanks for the review!
Thank you, you did an awesome job comparing
Thank you for sharing. I think I like the cricut press better because personally I have difficulty with my right hand and I would be able to handle to cricut press better.
Thanks for your honest review I will stay with my mug press
Love this review! Thank you💜 question... When you use the sublimation paper do you need a sublimation printer and if so, what do you suggest?
Yes you need a sublimation printer and ink and I use an epson its linked in the video description
Love this.. I’m a sublimator and was going to get the Cricut one. So thanks.. 6 minutes is too long for a mug.
Awesome, thanks for the great info.
Love your sweater!😍
Excellent review!
Also, when taping the art to the mug, would you get better results if you allowed a minimum distance from the top and bottom (say 1/8") so the artwork can be well pressed against the mug? It appears that when you tape the top and bottom edges, that process may be keeping the press from fully pressing the art to the mug. If there is a minimum gap from top and bottom, you wouldn't need to tape, and the press may press the art more evenly with no gaps. (I'm assuming, based on the little experience I have personally.) Thx for reading.
Thanks for your bias opinion
Your were both helpful and took much time to explore both . Again thanks
Thanks for this video!
most honest comparison so far...
I saw one the other day that I swear she actively screwed them up.
thank you ! you answered a alot of questions.
Valuable information , thanks.
Outstanding review
thanks.. im so new to cricut. thank you
Love your review. Thank you. And thank you about the printer. I have been wanting to buy one just for sub and I think I like yours better then the ecotank one. Their the same price but yours seems to print and press better then the other.
Isn't the one she linked to this video and ECOTank? Just asking because I want to get one.
@@jeannegrady780 it is an ecotank but this one works and prints better than the ecotank ET-2760. It's also cheaper in prince by $60 near me. I can get this one $239 instead of $299.
I have the 4700 but any eco tank will work. I think either has the same quality I just got the 4700 because it was only $230 on sale at Target when I got it
Fabulous review👍😍👍😍. I have been considering getting a mug press, won’t be buying one, since I would want to due sublimation, would be quite an investment to get started. I really appreciate the thoroughness of your review, likely the best review I have ever watched 👍🤓
Just FYI you can design your sublimation designs and send to multiple folks on etsy to print and ship to you. (If you do not want to invest in a sublimation printer)
I already have a cricut mugpress and with your link i got the better press for
Good review thanks
Ty for doing this 😁
THANKS SO MUCH!! This is probably the MOST INFORMATIVE - UNBAISED review I've seen. Thanks so much, you've helped me with my decision. Going with the Amazon Brand products. Sorry Cricut.. Not today.
Thanks for this video.
thanks for the info🥰
Great Video! Thanks!!!!
this was a very informative video, would you consider doing a sublimation project with the toaster ovens people are using ...
Sure if I can find a cheap toaster oven :)
@@CorinneBlackstone You will need a CONVECTION oven. I found mine on new on eBay for about $50.00. You can also try Walmart and Amazon for far less than a Cricut mug press.
great job thanks for the help
Thank you for this video💖can you tell me where you got the Disney print 🌿l would love to use it💖
its from the membership with auntietay.com
Great information- Thanks- Will Look For You- Palm Springs, Calif-
Great video. Good job.
Really appreciated all of the information. Great review. I am not a fan of the infusible inks, so good to know that it really is the best media for that machine, and other media not so great. Saved me $199!!
btw i read comments and joined Auntietay. another great tip!
There is a knob on the non cricut press that you should adjust for the cup you are using so it will fit easier - plus so you will apply the correct pressure.
Loved the Revview.. I have to wonder though if the infusible ink in the better sub press would have worked better if you had used the cricut timing and if you had centered the mug and not had at edge of press Just curious. The Cricut mug press looks much simpler to use but the can not be used for anything other mugs no bigger than the 15 oz size .. Does the Better sub press have an option to purchase other pressing sleeves? looks as if they can be changed like on other presses.
Oh can buy other sleeves but they are very expensive
My epson 4700 will be here friday! I vant wait to start my sublimation journey, love all your videos♡
YAY! I am so excited! I can't wait to see what beautiful things you make!
Hi Corinne! I really enjoyed your video. I am nee to sublimation and inquired with Epson directly about a sublimation printer. They have the F170. Are you using sublimation ink in place of the printer's supplied ink as a conversion? Thanks in advance. FYI..the Epson F170 is on back order for 6 months and really want to get started 😁
Yes I converted my printer. I have a video all about how I did it
Corrine as you play and learn with the amazon mug press, I would love to see more videos on it. Sublimation is something I've been thinking about but haven't taken the plunge yet into purchasing a printer. I would love to do mugs but would like to find a more cost effective alternative to the Cricut mug press.
I actually returned the Amazon press due to the heat it put off into my room and the smell was horrid. My throat burned for two days after using that press. I kept the Cricut one
@@CorinneBlackstone Oh wow! Thanks for the update. This is good to know. I have a small craft space and asthma so maybe I will be better off waiting for the Cricut mug press to go on sale. I watched a video that Angie Holden did testing various sizes of mugs and tumblers and was able to successfully press them by turning them upside down. It looks like the Cricut mug press may be able to do more than just the 2 sizes of mugs.
Thank you for doing this!!
Can you share where you got the file for the wrap around you did with the printer & sublimation ink?
It’s from auntietay.com you have to join her site to have access to the files
I have the Cricut mug press and I love it. I have done over 500 mugs with only sublimation, of the 500+ less than 10 of those did not turn out good and that was user mistakes because I did not tape well.
AWWWWW just the woman I want to ask this question to...
Can you do FOIL on mugs with the Cricut press?
Do you have other Cricut machines too?
I’m not sure if it is compatible Bestsub but I know for one press you can buy an attachment that makes it usable for a multitude of sized glassware. That is largely why I’ve been leaning toward the Bestsub.
Thank you for your honest review it is much appreciated.
