Am a Bengali currently living in Odisha and I must say the level that Pokhalo has reached in this region is simply amazing.... Needless to say that it is my fav summer food ❤️

This reminds me of what we eat in the South of India, fermented rice also famously known as “Pazhayadhu” where water is added to left over rice and allowed to ferment. Typically we mix buttermilk and eat with pickle like “maavadu” spicy tender mangoes or even small raw onions.
This video in particular is one of my favorites. And I was rewatching it. So there you see bhaina's hand all pink and get to know the holi fun he had. But today I realized when the camera goes a bit off lighting that bhaina's whole skin tone has got a shade of pink. And that made me laugh so hard. 😂 Love you bro. Keep rising and keep entertaining. ❤

I think the second one is better than the other two. I am a Bengali we used to call it "Panta" & usually have it in summer. I love to drink the last & the best pakhal water(torani). Yummy 😋.
Hi guys !! I thought it would be wonderful to let you know that there is a very similar recipe from assam called "Ponta bhat"/"Poita bhat"..it 99% similar except that we don't add curd to it and that its not found in any resturants as yet. Accompliment are pretty similar such as fish pora, aaloo bharta, dal bharta, small fish chutney etc..its usually eaten during the summer season in rural areas..and you really need to take a nice nap after having this as you might feel a bit sleepy. May be you get a bit intoxicated by the fermented rice..who knows !!! Hope you enjoyed knowing this 😊
