Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority 2005 Neoplan AN460LF Dual-Mode Articulated Trolleybuses

Another fleet compilation for your viewing, this time, a recently retired fleet of buses, MBTA's 2005 Neoplan AN460LF Dual-Mode Diesel-Electric Articulated Trolleybuses.
These buses primarily ran on the Silver Line 1, 2 and 3 lines. I believe that this fleet of Neoplan artics were the only Neoplan Dual-Mode Articulated Trolleybuses in North America. These were replaced by a new order of New Flyer XDE60 "Xcelsior" Artics which were spec'd with a BAE Systems HybriDrive Series-ER hybrid system which allows them to run in Battery-Mode underground.
These buses were powered by a Detroit Diesel Series 60 EGR engine, Skoda Motors in trolley mode, and a Kaman Drive Generator(think of it as the transmission of sorts).

These were almost as old as the Mbta Retired RTS Buses! The 1994s 0002 numbers 2 0138 lived 2 b 23yrs old in Revenue passenger service until December 29th 2017 they also had Nova RTS Buses from 1995 that were in service 4 22yrs until December 29th 2017 they were originally supposed 2 b retired by mid fall of 2012 but thankfully that was because of the CNG Nabi buses getting junked shredded & scrapped 1st so the RTS Buses lived 5more yrs until December 29th 2017! This must’ve lived 18yrs old pretty darn Good 4 these Buses!
