- Uke Nation - Jake Shimabukuro and James Hill on ukulele and Anne Janelle on the electric Cello playing Michael Jackson's Billie Jean on July 12, 2014 at the Winnipeg folk Festival. First time these two ukulele legends are playing on the same stage with the help of some Girl Power! :)
This was a truly amazing moment. James and Jake sharing a stage together for the first time ever. It was a privilege to be there for it.
I went to watch some music legends who I hadn't heard of until a few days ago, or so I thought. I only started playing the ukulele 2 weeks ago.
When I was in Kona, Hawaii a few years ago I walked into a music store and requested some music for me to remember Hawaii once I had gone back home to Canada. I only realized today while perusing Jake Shimabukuro's website online that I already had one of his cds. However, it is in Storage so I forgot about it completely. So blessed to be reintroduced to this talented musician this weekend.
I love it when Anne adds that great little bit of harmony - so perfect for this arrangement!
I'm shocked at how great this trio is.
Especially the melodic looping section .... I live for those trance like music loops ...
