All 67-69 Z28’s were all 4 speeds, an automatic transmission wasn’t available until 1970 in the Z28. You could order the gauge option in the 68 Z28. And no that’s BS that the manufacturer installed Sun Tach. Maybe the Dealer did but if they did it from the factory then there would have been Tach RPO option. I bought a 68 Z/28 in ‘74 and it had no console or tach. If you had the console then you could order the Tri gauges that fit in the console. Mine was British green like this one with white stripes, but I had the rear spoiler.

Nope I've heard of a couple of special order Z28 s that came from the factory with power glide trannys for nhra automatic class drag racing .
Man I love those MOPARS, those are my dream cars! A older friend of mine still has his green with black interior 1969 Z28 302 4sp that he bought himself right after he graduated Hi Skool! I always liked those Prowlers but I wished they had put a supercharger on that V6 to give it the oompf it needed! That gold Datsun 280Z looks just like the one my best friend had in Hi Skool 1981 except his had Ttops ✌💖☮
It was so fun to walk along these Mopars! I would love to see your friends 69… and I think that Datsun deserves its own episode! My dad had one when I was a kid… actually he had 2!
@@CarsShopsAndCollections Right on, I loved all those old Datsuns before they became Nissan! Someone in my family always had one like a '81 pickup, '78 B210, '80 510 wagon mostly because of the gas prices of the late '70s but I will admit I had a '73 Plymouth Fury III 2dr Sport Coupe 360 4bbl that got 12 mpg that I drove to school in 1981 even tho gas prices were around $1, it was around .70-.75 when I got my license & the car a couple years earlier

@@CarsShopsAndCollections candy red with black vinyl on that fastback type top, black vinyl interior with factory 8 track & AC & all I did was some good detailing, new BFG white letters & true dual exhaust with cherry bomb mufflers! Unfortunately middle of my Junior year a drunk Tboned my passenger door folding it into a U but with the insurance money I got a '78 gold/tan Ttop Z28 bank repo that needed a $1200 pay off
The wings are differant because? The trunks are bigger on the super birds! Check it out when you open the trunks they just clear on both the dodge and plymouths.

68 z28 didnt come with a performer intake,they came with a factory intake.part # 3917610,that stuff about the dealer putting that tach in is total bullshit.you could get the rally pac option with factory tach

For me, if I had that kind of money, I would love to own some of these classics. But since I don't, I have to settle for the toy versions. 😂😂😂
Used to be all about horespower...now it is all about "collectibility"💸💸🤮🤮
