Great video, thanks for the update! I was worried a little bit and my family (who live in Thailand) didn't want us to go there as they are worried. But I think we will give it a try in 2 weeks ^^
The area around Chang Khlan road has been devastated, so many streets underwater so many houses and businesses inundated. There are so many cars parked on Mahidol road to keep them out of the flood waters.
We have seen some, this seems worse than what we have seen in the past though however it isn't widespread throughout the entire city. Other areas of Thailand such as Chiang Rai are suffering from flooding as well. Thank you for watching!😊🙏🏻🇹🇭

@@TheNarrowGate Hi there. Heard that it flooded again the past days and it's worse than the last one. Saw posts of tourists stranded. I'm supposed to go with my 72yo mum next month but she is having second thoughts now because of the recent news. She's worried it would still be raining and flooding in the coming weeks which would delay/extend recovery efforts. How are things in Chiang Mai now? Hope you're okay. Thanks for any info and advise you can share.
Returning to Thailand for an extended stay (3 months) in late November... ... had made arrangements to close out my stay with a couple weeks in Chiang Mai in early February. At present, I'm booked in places in and around the Old City -- east gate, the night market, and a short stay near the SW corner of the Old City. I'd intended to make a trip up north through Chiang Mai, perhaps Pai and/or the Golden Triangle... ...but am now not so sure about all of that, given possible road conditions and the status of other recovery efforts. (and, yeah, some concerns for environmental health issues) At the end, was looking to take a "first-class" bus to Bangkok to catch my return flight home. Given this, any particular advice or precautions?
Early February and you could be looking at the smokey season because it tends to start around that time depending on the year and the amount of rain that we have. Chiang Mai is much better in November, December and January in my opinion. I have never taken a bus here so I can't speak to that. The flights to Bangkok from Chiang Mai are pretty inexpensive so we have opted for that. Thanks for watching our channel and best wishes for a wonderful adventure here in Thailand whatever you decide to do!😊🙏🏻🇹🇭
One thing that really stood out in all this flooding in CM & other provinces is how many police or Military you saw on the roads helping or helping evac residents etc..... I saw absolutely ZERO Ok thankfully resident helped residents even with information updates on FB like this. But it does make one wonder
You meant there are usually police and soldiers around helping the regular folks. But this time/during this flooding, you saw none of them around helping the residents. Do I understand it correctly?
