Both stood just feet away as they stared into the eyes of each other. Their love was still there, but it was covered in pain and grief. They were too far gone to be able to feel once again. They had gone through the hell of a journey to be disappointed yet grateful. Grateful that the other was "safe" and alive. But the realization struck them both.
