I came here for the weird/cheap hoopties but we are a long way from that now. I miss the days when Hoovie was driving around in Buick Park Avenue Ultras and AWD 90's minivans. I can't even blame him. I'll fully admit that my particular interest in cars is, to put things lightly, very quirky. There probably aren't a lot of views to be had catering to people like me. I'm very happy for him and his success. But I miss the old Hoovie and I kind of get the impression that he may miss it too.

As a European I find it so weird how difficult it is to "own" a car in the US, liens, titles, tax payments on a used car, we all don't have that over here (Netherlands).
We do have some sort of title which states the car is registered on your name (I guess it's about the same?) and if you lose it it is fairly easy to get a new one send to you the next day, after which you can sell your car immediately, no tax, no lien, no nothing, no waiting for papers to clear, the new owner can just register on his/her name, pay € 10,25 registering cost and done.

@@microchrist6122 The amount of people doesn't matter, it's all automated so would serve 333M just as well. It's the enormous tax yields that give the Dutch government the ability to streamline all car related processes. And it's mainly the low taxation on car ownership in the US that explains why the US has the worst infrastructure in the 'developped' world. No insult, just a fact.
The Netherlands is one of the most expensive countries in the world for car owners. Ownership tax for my compact diesel car (1285 kg) here in NL is € 1700 a year! (incl particulate penalty). Americans would never believe it. And a midsized gasoline sedan of 1500 kg is € 932 a year! And of course the expensive fuel and the BPM, that's an extra tax on top of the purchase price of new cars. One fifth of the price of a new Golf GTI is BPM and then an other 21% on top of that is regular sales tax.
That (and our population density) does buy us infrastructure that is among the best in the world, I try to find consolation in that.

@@microchrist6122 Sorry about the late reply, I didn't get a notification. Yes all such processes are automated. Road tax payments are automated. Gets automatically deducted from my bankaccount every month. It might be possible to make such payments manually, not sure. But also if you make a manual payment, you have to use a specified payment detail that allows their system to automatically match the payment with the corresponding invoice.
Also with traffic tickets, if a speeding camera photographs you speeding, letter with the tickets is printed and mailed automatically. I expect a shift to e-mail in the future.
And If I don't insure my car, govt system knows (because insurers mark the vehicle as insured in the system, a vehicle without that mark is in infraction) and sends me a warning, after a couple weeks it sends an automated ticket of € 450 due to uninsured vehicle. If I let my tech-inspection (apk) expire, same story. You'll get a warning but after a couple weeks you get a ticket in the mail (€ 90 last time I had that years ago). If you don't want to use your vehicle for a while, you need to log in to the RDW system and temporarily deactivate your road-registration.

Tyler, at least you knew the bubble would burst. That’s one of the reasons I like your channel. You’re honest and will only sell a certain car when the time is right. I’m like you, I buy a car because I like it and want to keep it and drive it. I only have two cars but they are rare. 67 Corvette 427 fuel injected, tank sticker, what makes it rare is the colour. GM only sprayed one car. I’m not saying what it is. I also tracked down my late dad’s 69 Olds 442 W-30. It has a rare intake manifold and carburetor setup with ram air. It’s painted candy root beer brown and instead of having the “ SS “ hood stripes it has a unique pinstriping design. The only thing that turns people off is the olive green interior. I don’t know what GM was smoking when they came up with the brown and green exterior/interior, but I’ve gotten used to it. Again, these cars are not for sale. My dad paid 4200$ for the 442 back in 69. It’s insured for 400k and that’s lo-balling it. So Tyler, I know exactly how you feel about your keeper cars. If you sell one, you might not find another one ever.
