Campfire videos show the viewers the reality of living off grid in Alaska. Not everything is rainbows and unicorns. Some Alaskan RUclips channels magically afford to buy new properties, new atvs, new tractors, new tools, new vehicles, new trailers etc, and having an open wallet approach to homesteading. This is not true Alaskan homesteading. Flat Tire Farm channel is truly a no BS channel and spot on realistic to how its like living in Alaska with this lifestyle. Commiserating from Palmer LOL. Keep up the great work guys!
Thank you so much for saying this. You’re absolutely right, a lot of channels take the open Wallet approach and make it look like fantasy homesteading. It’s simply not like that. Living in Alaska, you totally get it. I appreciate you and this is my favorite comment of the day. Be blessed my friends.
Our real feel here in Ga today was 102. We worked out in the garden for almost 5 hours. Im sure some on here was even hotter than me. It was miserable. I really love your channel
You accomplish plenty. Your happiness is more important than what others want you to do. Campfire chats? How did you come by 40 acres? How much of that is cleared? Rolling hills? Wet lands? Do you sell any of the farm meat and eggs? Why did you decide to be a vendor at a farmers market? Chats are good.
Always loved fireside chats! I don't always have time to watch videos, but from day 1 that I found you I've always made time to watch yours even if it's few days later. For any new people, if you haven't done so, go back and watch the past 2 yrs of back videos. Chrystal and Reeve, and everyone have a great day!!❤
Crystal even if we don't see you do anything the drone footage of the area and the animals that to me is a perfect video not necessarily even seeing you let it run for 5 minutes too short videos when you say that word again just different ones but anything to me I love
I get you on the temperature thing. I had a pituitary tumor that had to be partially removed, it killed the function of it, I was supposed to be cold sensitive, but I literally live in a desert. Heat has been the enemy. We hit 102 degrees in the spring. I can’t take that.
We luv you two and this type of episode is fine with us. A friendly chat is much appreciated because you get to update us on things going on with you both. In the list no mention of Sourdough Crackers? Ha! Thanks so much.
Sending love right back at ya! 💕💕 I have a question for you. Do you have cloudberries where you live and what’s your favorite thing to do with them? We have some on our property, but I usually don’t get to them before the birds do! I’d like to harvest them and make some awesome with them.

After my stroke, I spent 4 years in Idaho with my sister and her husband. For 6 months out of the year, we stayed at their primitive camp way up in the mountains. It's not for the weak or weary. Talk about cold showers! Our 'living room' consisted of chairs encircling a fire pit. I loved every minute of it. It was my rehab, learning how to walk those mountain trails. I would take a bunch of 5 gallon buckets in the 4-wheeler to fetch water. Anyway, I know what you mean. I enjoy campfires for sure. I also enjoy all your videos as well. Keep 'em coming as you can, I'll be watching when they are available. Love you guys and all the critters. Until next time, friends, stay well and God bless.
Sounds perfect to me! 1 thing I don’t miss is the hum of all the appliances, the fans, and well pump. I don’t think people realize how much background noise they have in an on grid home. I love our peace. Thanks friend.
Holy cow, you guys are busy! Love the campfire video. We've just been cutting, bucking, & chucking firewood so far this spring. Almost got the finished portion of the woodshed filled with birch😊. Gotta finish the 3rd section & fill that, then the next projects on "the list" begins...speaking of that list..Mr. Reeve, do you know of any good painters around? Nice to see you both as always. I would love to support your soap business but after you emailed me the price to ship to Vancouver! Yikes. It is just insane the cost to ship to B C. Will have to figure something out. Perhaps you can start selling at a few local shops here like Granville Island which is huge for kiosks. I think it is great you two are sitting and relaxing just chatting. Polar bears look good and healthy and most of all happy. Take care and Cheers!
That’s a lovely idea friend. I did ship to a friend in BC recently. It was about $23 for a 2-3 pound package. Still really, very expensive. But as long as it’s less than 4 pounds it’s not horribly priced. I think there’s a lot of people that are our viewers where the price just put them out of being able to purchase the soap. I totally understand that. There’s lots and lots of ways to support our channel. Watching videos, making comments, and especially sharing videos. That helps our channel out tons and tons. We appreciate whatever kind of support you are willing to graciously give us. 💕💕
We love and enjoy whatever you can give us - keep the Fireside Chats!! After all you are sharing your life with us, which is apparent we enjoy more than our own! I enjoy any anf allof your videos!! The camp fire chats are at least a way for you to relax, yet we get an entertaining video! That’s a really great idea for reusing water. Unfortunately our garden is way too far away from our house. We don’t use enough water to even make it all the way to the garden. Ha! Most people use 40 to 50 gallons of water to take a single shower, we use 40 to 50 gallons of water in a week.Ha! And that would be a lot of groundwork for a little bit of gain. It’ll be a long process. First, we have to save the money to get a well, then increase our solar system, which will be another huge chunk of change. It sure sounds to me like y'all need to find a hobby or two.... In my highly educated and therefor most esteemed and heavily-valued opinion, campfire videos are good, but we can Make Campfire Videos Great Again (MCVGA) by doing them live! (Not that I'd be awake, but that is irrelevant.) -Dusty

Hey Wade, it might be something we do in a membership area in the future, but it’s not something we’re going to do in our channel right now.
Привіт. Дивимось всі ваші відео. Дуже подобається . Взагалі подобається дивитись про Аляску. Привіт з України
Hello! I’m glad you enjoy the videos. Be blessed friend!
Can you wear shorts already?❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yep. Definitely shorts weather. It’s also mosquito weather so we tend to stay as covered as possible without melting. Ha!
Happy Father's Day Mr Reeves. I like the campfire chats & of course all the others. You two are so cute dressed alike...lol Do they still make bon bons? 😊
Ha! We totally didn’t plan it, just working the garden all day. 💕bon bons are likely not cool anymore. Ha!
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska lol your to funny 😄
Love campfire chats! Love your videos! Nice fire ring. I lived in Alaska for 15 years. I miss it very much. So your videos feel like home. I am currently living in Kentucky and hopefully can make it back to AK in the future.
We’ll welcome you home when you get back here my friend.
I love this kind of video 👍 it's good to catch up with y'all and hear what's going on. Our GA homestead doesn't require a snow shovel but a lot of resources go into staying cool through the summer, lots of solar projects!
Thanks! Someday we want to build a solar dehydrator. It’s on the list. Ha!
Love Fireside chats! You two are cool! Hope you finally had dinner. I had forgotten a lot on the list that you accomplished in the fall/winter. You are amazing. ❤️🙏🏻Val
Thanks Miss Val, we love you too. 💕
Ha! Love it. Not doing lives. 😊
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska Methinks the lady doth protest too much. Come on! You know you wanna! All your friends are doing it!
You work with special needs people in Alaska are there a lot of special needs people there? What type of jobs do they get when they get older?❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Miss Simone, I’m not sure of the population density compared to other regions. My practice is primarily pediatric so it’s focused more of academic success than job placement. Sorry friend, I don’t have those answers. Be blessed. 💕
