printing emails only makes sense if you have a scanner. Then you can scan the print and finally answer to the email while attaching the scan of the printed original email. This is really the only real reason to use a laser printer in 2022.
Great video. I actually bought this printer based off your review. I love it when I print document on via Microsoft word. However, I'm having trouble with the printing quality when printing PDFs. It leaves slight jagged outline on the lettering. I've tried to change the media settings, chang the DPI and still the same. I'm desperate. Does that mean laser can't print sharp text? I'll really appreciate your respond. Thanks!
Can you show us to set up the tray as when I print it ask me to put paper which I have to feed one paper at a time from the top feeder and I don’t know how to make it use the papers in the tray. Also when I switch the printer on and try to print a page it asks to look for a printer then it says no printer found which I have connected it (I lost count) to my wifi and when it goes to sleep I can’t make it to respond, it might be an easy printer to use but when you don’t know how to work it , it becomes frustrating, as there is no booklet to explain all the possibilities to use this printer, can you please make a video to explain all the different possibilities and how to achieve it, thank you
Thank for the video, I actually found one outside my apartment the other day. It was even loaded with paper. I been putting off setting it up but hopefully it works. I have much use for a printer like this since I print out black and white receipts and mailing labels quite often for my business..
I’ve bought this printer so far so good 1st BW printer I’ve owned. Can I have it connected to my Mac with the cable and also print wireless from my phone
Great review, quick questions can you connect wirelessly but without an Internet connection? Like a non-wifi connection but wirelessly? Apologies for they way I asked 😜 it’s just my Internet is a bit temperamental. Thanks in advance 👍 sorry just to add with my iPhone?
You don’t need the internet to connect. Just access to a home WiFi router. As long as you have working wifi in the house you can print to it. Hope that answers your question?
This is a great printer. I print a lot of documents on it. I have noticed it is starting to squeak and slow down a like wheat Suggestions do you have to fix that issue.
The parts are not really serviceable and there’s very little that you can perform maintenance on. I would recommend calling Brother technical support to see if they have any suggestions
? I have brother HL-2179W, its software is not compatible with my new macOS 11.5.2 Big Sur and I'm informed Brother apparently is not going to develop a software. So, what Brother laser printer has the compatible software to work with my Mac OS 11.5.2 and is similar to the brother I have? Simple is good. Mucho thanks mon.
99 percent of us don’t need color printers. The most common things we print are bills, notes, emails, etc. this is perfect. Great review.

set mine up but the print is huge…takes two sheets to print one regular page….cannot firm instructions on how to fix this!
