  • A Day in the Life of an Optometrist
Welcome to the optometrist’s office! It’s always a fun time here - if you don’t mind long lines and lots of people. Today, we’re looking at what a typical day is like at an eye clinic. From checking vision to prescribing lenses, it’s all in a day

very sorry for late reply. Crazy RUclips did not notify me that there was a lot of comments already. To answer your question, if you would like to get into optometry you would need a 3 years undergraduate before you can apply for optometry school. But I have to be honest it would be very hard to get in since there are only 2 schools/universities that offer optometry, Waterloo and another in Quebec (don't know the name). Since one is in French, then the rest of Canada is trying to go into Waterloo and they accept a very limited number of student, less than 200 last time I know

there is no direct hire for optometrist because you need to be licensed in Canada to be hired. Regarding optical assistant, no one really directly hire optical assistants and opticians are also a licensed profession here.
