@@gombocdimensional9050 I honestly have no clue how people can play this game for so long haha, or really any game like this. It's fun to watch Kevin play but I'd die of boredom. All the hours spent and stuff. But I also tend to play games for the story, so that my actions actually lead to some sort of progression or have a point. But I'm glad some people do enjoy it!

I love this series so much! It inspired me to do my own hermit play-through (but on the Stardew Expanded Immersive Farm 2, which is WAY easier than the beach farm) and I listen to thise series on repeat while I grind through my own playthrough. Thanks to Kevin for all the hard work on this series, it doesn't go unnoticed!
If not for Kevin, I would have never tried Stardew Valley. He makes a game that typically ain't my thing look like so much fun that I gave it a shot and I gotta say, I love it. Maybe I'll try the Sims at some point too.
This challenge series has been hilarious and amazing. Definitely worth the wait for this episode. The long-form content is great for this kind of video. Keep up the great work, man!

I love it when Kevin goes back to this series it always makes me want to go back and play stardew valley on my phone, I become addicted to the game again. It's also very helpful, I only got into stardew valley a couple months ago so it's great to see how to make things or how to do things quicker following what Kevin does. Although his version can be a little..interesting 😆
It's a shame it ends , but I'll surely rewatch it monthly

The mushroom trees would have given you a few mushrooms that sell for a fair bit. Probably would have been helpful in the early game

This series inspired me to get stardew valley for myself.
Can't wait until Kevin installs one of the slavery mods and makes the villagers that mocked Hermit with their festivals and flower dances on his mess of a farm
Technically the chickens can be fed. He only needs grass starter and some area for the grass to grow (so no tiles)

I found out by just me becoming a noob and not paying the game for years and coming back that if you let the chickens out to an area with grass then they would eat the grass and you would not need to feed them its just they don't go out on rainy days and winter so they can't eat with those conditions

I've watched too many SDV pro players, it's actually pretty refreshing and entertaining watching someone who has no clue or a laid out plan playing as naturally as they could. No calculators, calendars, cheatsheets whatsoever

i avoid people who play games the most efficiently, in other words, playing the game like everyone else, acting like an npc in doing what works best instead of focusing on having fun. never doing anything different from whatever the hoard does

You should try doing like a vampire challenge. Only going outside if its dark or cloudy. Definitely easier than not leaving the farm at all but could still be entertaining if done by Kevin.
That sounds almost as challenging, there are NPCs you would have to memorize the schedule for since some of their houses close not long after dark. Not to mention certain shops.

kevin should definitely make more longer stardew videos with weird challenges like this one. it totally fits the newish format of longer videos with a semi-nostalgic game and this is definitely one of my favorite series!
Maybe on streams like play as a vampire or only as a meat eater(so no eating plants or plant based food amd can't farm and can only sell animal products)
Kevin having the auto grabber and not noticing there are eggs in it is the most Kevin thing.

I'm gonna miss this series, just as much as I miss the one chunk series. Although most of Kevin's videos are one shots of the games he plays, he's super good at making this specific type of content

I wish he did more too! I was obsessed with the one chunk videos. Kevin's channel Is actually a pretty good marketing strategy haha, he gets to do a bunch of things that all different people will like and enjoy but also repeats some things without over-saturating. Just enough to keep us hooked. As expected from the leader of this cul- erm, channel.
And here I was hoping that Kevin would learn that you can plant all the fruit trees in the Greenhouse on the "Bricks". Still Hermit has done well, he needs a rest. It's past 7am.

A tip for anyone that gets animals in stardew: When you're placing your barn and coop and putting down your fencing around it, make sure theres grass under one or more of the fence posts (and a path or something around the outside of the pasture area to prevent spreading outside), and the animals can't eat that grass, so you will have a constant source of grass growth. The amount of tiles you need to keep all animals fed depends on your pasture size, but it isnt hard to experiment with and I think it's really handy.

Absolutely LOVE this series. In fact, after many years of watching Kevin play games and thinking, "Hey, I should play that myself someday..." and then never actually doing so, this series was the one that actually made me do it. I've been going through a rough time IRL the past couple months and playing Stardew has been a godsend for stress relief. I started with the beach farm just like Hermit, and now I've got a thriving, beautiful farm and over 2 million gold. Thank you Kevin for not only providing us with great entertainment via these videos, but for inspiring me to start my own Stardew adventure.

If you put tappers on the mushroom trees you get mushrooms daily except during the winter. If you upgrade your house again, you get the cellar where you can put casks to make your wine even better and earn a ton more money.
My new hognose snake sat calmly on my hand for the duration of this video.... she normally hisses and musks on me. Clearly Kevin has a natural Irish ability to charm snakes.

Went through a deep depression and didnt watch Kevin for almost a year, It took me about 4 months to catch up on all the videos I had missed but I told myself I needed to watch them all and in order. I'm so glad I've finally got to catch up, it was worth every minute.

Same thing happened here, except I didn't catch up on everything and it might be years and years before I do. I also only started watching a few years ago so haven't watched all his older ones. But I don't mind missing some videos because, one day all my fave youtubers will retire and live their lives so >.< I will always have some videos to come back to watch. (We all grew up with our fave youtubers so most of us can't even imagine them not being on the platform one day lol) So try not to feel pressured! The vids will always be there.

I can only imagine this series was an editing nightmare because of how much footage you probably had. But every video made in this series was great. Then I see comments saying it's the last one, gonna be a bittersweet watch, but I'm glad the series existed while it did. It's always a treat watching Kevin struggle with the ridiculous challenges he imposes on himself.
