I probably asked Brian if he was ok about 2,410,968 times over the following 24 hours because I just couldn't believe he walked away from this one relatively unscathed... thank the mtb gods he's an absolute tank. THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!
Is there any footage of it from another angle or was it just hi filming that day? Looks gnarly from this angle but i cant quite place how the OTB rotation was with his angle. Super happy all is well though. Reminds me of my brother eating absolute shit when we were kids on a sketchy dirt ramp near our house. Lost his air, i thought he was dying being like 10 years old or whatever with no knowledge of first aid.
Brutal, I glad you're okay. Your channel always inspires me to keep growing my channel and riding in amazing places. Thanks for always staying true to you buddy!!!
It's not a secret how incredibly strong you are physically, but what's even more admirable is your mental strength. Continuing the ride with a smile after that fall... ? Jeez Luise! Most people would've lost the mental battle from that point on. Mad kudos, Brian!
I broke my leg one ride and kept going thinking it was just a little bruise! Haha the adrenaline is real from start to finish in thise sport, we dont realize we're hurt till the next day haha
Yep. Fuck that. Even climbing down that kind of shit is hardly worth it. A mountain bike is just insane/dumb. I want to get a bike but it'll be easy trails, logging roads, that kind of thing. I have a deathwish but that's just slow and painful. Unless of course you fall off a cliff or break your neck! Good luck to all of you doing this!
If you need your van checked, Antero Automotive & Alignment in downtown Buena Vista can get you squared away. The owner of the shop is my uncle. A cool fact about those tunnels at the beginning is that Red Bull Racing drove their f1 car through them during the F1 USA Road Trip. The video is worth a watch!
Brian your skills have gotten so much sharper over the years! That was a crazy tumble! So glad you’re ok. This has been my favorite series of video you guys have ever put out. The three trails you’ve ridden in this series so far look fantastic! Keep ‘em coming!
Anybody who’s stood at the section where you fell knows how Gnarly that is. local here. Mad props for just going for it! The b is a real one for sureeeee. Cheers man!
They make such comfortable elbow pads. When it is not blazing hot, why would everyone on rough trails not be using them? FWIW- My 55 year old wife is the toughest mountain biker in the world. Last year while riding at Oil Well Flats (Canon City Co highly recommend) she had an over the bars. When I caught up to her she had huge chunks of cactus in about 5 places including a huge one on her forehead. She insisted on finishing the ride because, "If I am going to mess up my face I am at least getting a ride in".
My GF has crashed (and gotten right back up) enough times that we don't ride without full pads and full face helmets. If you get the right one (we like the Kali Invader) you'll hardly notice it's a full face. Gotta protect that money maker!
1. OOF! Glad you emerged banged but not broken. 2. You need a bluetooth OBD-II reader for your van so the ultra-vague check engine light doesn't spook you for no reason. Tons on Amazon, of course. I think the one I have is called Blue Driver. Worthwhile purchase. Just don't leave it plugged in 24/7 as I've heard that can cause issues (but that may be an urban legend).
Been watching you for a long time. Have to say your technical riding is really impressive !! It’s crazy when features that would once scare you look rideable.
Hi from the UK, I just love your videos as I've just retired at 62 young and getting back into riding, took your advice, and got myself an osprey 5 pack to carry my stuff and water it fantastic thanks
Fear no repair with OBD2 for the CEL I second any previous comments. One of the best purchases for a car owner and I've ever made, I got a Blue Drive OBD2 reader. Repairs are easy when you know what to expect. Keep up the vids great stuff!
Ya know how when you watch somebody crash and you get that twinge/shock run through you, even though you're only experiencing it vicariously... You weathered that one pretty good. You're one durable dude. Carry on!
Glad you're alright Brian, but those who follow the trend and are going without hydration packs, this is where they more than pay off, when you take a hit to the back and it takes it instead of you. Mine saved me already a good one and meant I could make the big riding trip just 4 weeks later and let's not talk about having the stuff you need, when you need it and plenty of water.
I can smell that "good" bathroom from here. I also agree with you, hit 'em up when you got them! I haven't seen the crash yet, but hopefully you are fine!
Have you considered a odb2 reader for your van? I'm no mechanic but its easily saved me and my friends good chunk of change. Easy to google the error codes, and eases my mind knowing how severe the error is. One of the fixes was literally just resetting the error and restarting the car, that would have been a $240 fix. That trail was nasty and the slam was even more nasty! Still looked like a good time!
Absolutely shattered for you both (and myself) that the trip has been cut short. I really love your Redemption vids BK. They're so much fun watching you guys push yourselves. Super entertaining and cannot wait for the next one. Keep the videos comin Brian!💪🏼From a long time follower
Great Video! Brings back lots of memories, camping at Elephant rock, mountain biking all around the area, and whitewater kayaking on the Arkansas River.
Glad you're okay! Great footage and amazed you kept going. Glad to know you're human but can't believe that's your worst crash with everything you do. Keep riding!
Hey Brian that was an amazing ride and a pretty nasty crash. There were not a lot of soft spots to land on. You were lucky to walk away relatively unscathed though I'm sure the next few days were pretty hurtful. Could have been much worse. Been off the bike almost 3 months now after a crash. Good to see you could continue your lap. Kepp riding!
Just came home after I threw myself over the bars too (Front wheel got stuck on a small dib like 12:59 because I wasnt paying enough attention) and this video is what youtube recommended first lmao
I will say that I’ve been following you for awhile and your videos are always 1st person which is sick, but the single track sampler posted that video of you the other day following you and wow I’m amazed at how good you are on the bike. Seeing you bike in third person made me realize how good your maneuverability skills on the bike are. Love your channel btw
I know right??? same here! Brian can actually shred on his bike! Also, I think he's on a 29'??? and he's throwing that thing around under him like it's nothing 😍
Buy an OBD2 reader for that check engine light. It'll tell you what's going on via an app on your phone and you can get some idea of whether you need to be really concerned or not.
Head over to the Cottonwood Hot Springs near Buena Vista to ease that back pain. They have multiple pools at varying temps AND a steam room. I was there about a week after separating my acl in my shoulder and ohhhh did it help!
Took that like a champ, gg 🤙 It's worth considering what you need to take with you to self rescue. I like take some paracetamol, mostly used for headaches. Might be worth considering something stronger maybe even co-codamol for ride enders. A large (5"x4") adhesive wound dressing (saved the day with my sons elbow), couple medium adhesive wound dressings, few bandaids, space blanket and mini antiseptic tube. The whole lot in a baggy weights less than a few grams. Instant Ice packs in the van, used plenty on the kids bumps. If I was riding as far out then I'd consider taking one. Ibuprofen gel I was so sceptical about it wife got some for her knee and tired it out on a pulled neck muscle wow miracle stuff (esp since I don't like/wont take Ibuprofen tablets they're hell on the stomach). I've used it for lots of aches esp inflamed Achilles tendons/hamstrings its a god send.
Wow! You sure know how to bounce! Hope you're on the mend without medical intervention. The next video will tell! You're killing it! X Games Brian! Agree with the comments that it's time to up your protection game riding black and double black diamond stuff! Not a full face or pads riding type... yet! It's about time to consider them though. I already wear knee warmers much of the time, so actual pads would be pretty welcome. But some of the other stuff? The heat might just do me in! But now that the weather has turned, not so much this time of year.
Gnarly spell! Your cat like reflexes have served you well! One of our boys just broke his collarbone, and I believe that the crash would have been much worse if he was not so agile and fit.
That was insane, so was that trail in Ep.2 Crazy stuff. Glad you're ok. I took a handlebar to the ribs about 2 mos ago and even though I was physically able to ride after 2 weeks I could sense myself balking at stuff I should have ridden for the next several rides. Mental games are cruel.
Nail polish is your friend for that scratch. A. recent crash this summer made me rethink my elimination of using a camelbak. I'll be using one next summer with some spine protection along with the new Fox proframe full face. Also, highly recommend BRAVE SOLIDER for that 'rock' rash. Best stuff in the world for cherry burns!
Pick yourself up a scanner, you can get one at just about any auto parts store, it'll save you money if you already know what wrong with it when you take it in to get fixed or if you fix it yourself
I rode Vitamin B over the summer and when I saw that first section I couldn’t imagine cleaning it. Luckily didn’t have any bad falls during the rest of it, but man it’s easily one of the more demanding trails I’ve rode in CO. I was wiped by the time we got back to the car.
Just get a code reader for your van. They're pretty inexpensive and you'd be able find out if the check engine light is really a concern or not. Another perk is that you'd be able to clear the code if it's something dumb.
Your luck, if you want to call it that, was bound to change, especially after the great run down the Ore Shute the previous day. Still if you don’t push the boundaries sometimes, you’ll never get better. What is remarkable is how after taking a direct hit to your back, you weren’t hurt more. What did Sarah have to say after you told her?
That looked like a painful get-off! Glad to see you walk away (ride?) from that one. Keep the videos coming, and its great to see the sponsor's coming through! Hope your next sponsor is Mercedes or Winnebago (Revel 4x4)!
I probably asked Brian if he was ok about 2,410,968 times over the following 24 hours because I just couldn't believe he walked away from this one relatively unscathed... thank the mtb gods he's an absolute tank. THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!

"You're okay?"
"Yeah."
"I find that very hard to believe."
Well he had the nice soft rocks to break his fall 😩
Hopefully he continues to heal both physically and mentally. His progression is inspiring. Both of you have improved so much.
My thumb actually started hurting WORSE when I got back home, what the hell?!
Brutal, I glad you're okay. Your channel always inspires me to keep growing my channel and riding in amazing places. Thanks for always staying true to you buddy!!!
Glad you're enjoying the adventures!
With the one hour charging speed alone, it is more than enough reason for me to grab one.
I do like the handle at the back. It makes carrying it around a whole lot easier.
The fact that the River 2 has a 3000 charge cycle means it could actually work for 10 years.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how you're both mic'd up. SUCH a pro move. It makes watching and hearing conversations SO enjoyable,
Glad to hear it!!
Brian! Stoked you're all good. That was an insane slam.
New video soon pleeeeeze!?
Thanks my dude!! Up and over is no good!
It's not a secret how incredibly strong you are physically, but what's even more admirable is your mental strength. Continuing the ride with a smile after that fall... ? Jeez Luise! Most people would've lost the mental battle from that point on. Mad kudos, Brian!
Best thing you can do after a crash if you are still able to get back on the bike and not too hurt is to do so immediately.
I broke my leg one ride and kept going thinking it was just a little bruise! Haha the adrenaline is real from start to finish in thise sport, we dont realize we're hurt till the next day haha
If it was any worse I don't know how strong my mental game would be!
Yep.

Big crashes like that make it hard to continue to focus and ride. Great job mentally Brian!
I just love how Jesus takes some time off to ride bikes with you and even do some laundry afterwards. Respect.
You need to get an OBD2 code scanner so you can get an idea of why the CEL is on. At least it would give you an idea if it's critical or not.
Most one's aren't bad unless there flashing.
Brian your skills have gotten so much sharper over the years! That was a crazy tumble! So glad you’re ok. This has been my favorite series of video you guys have ever put out. The three trails you’ve ridden in this series so far look fantastic! Keep ‘em coming!
So glad to hear you're digging this Redemption series!!
The fact that you can walk away from your worst crash ever, that's a strong rider man. Glad you're good.
Got very lucky!!
Pro-tip: Always carry an OBD II scanner. Inexpensive and at least you'll have an idea what the CEL is for.
Brian, you are a tank. That OTB didn’t look to crazy, but the landing zone looked lethal. So glad you walked away. Keep up the good work.
Anybody who’s stood at the section where you fell knows how Gnarly that is. local here. Mad props for just going for it! The b is a real one for sureeeee. Cheers man!
Thought I had it!!
They make such comfortable elbow pads. When it is not blazing hot, why would everyone on rough trails not be using them?

Every man for himself! LOL. Good on you for keeping your composure and finishing the ride after that gnarly slammer.

Man, so many people have them I'm surprised my cousins or friends haven't called me up at this point to help!
Ya know how when you watch somebody crash and you get that twinge/shock run through you, even though you're only experiencing it vicariously... You weathered that one pretty good. You're one durable dude. Carry on!
when i fall in a ride i just cant recover mentally, phisically is way easier for me. huge respect brian!
Straight from lamentations about a troublesome Chrysler to a shot showing a ~1992 Previa. Love me those Previas!
Built to last!!
Glad you're alright Brian, but those who follow the trend and are going without hydration packs, this is where they more than pay off, when you take a hit to the back and it takes it instead of you. Definitely should get one!
Didn’t look like you stiffened up too much out there. Glad it wasn’t worse. Hope your recovery has gone smooth. Always love the videos man🤘🏻🤘🏻
Keep it loose!
Brian: "At least I didn't make any weird noises getting the wind knocked out of me"
Also Brian the rest of the trail: "Eugh" "Ha" "aughhh" "hohoho"
Hahahaha
...that was lucky bro, good thing you are built with titanium bones, and, most of all, you have got a RIPMO!
Radiator may have iced causing the check engine light to come on. They make a blanket specially for that to keep it from icing over.
Took it like a champ!
You should grab a Bluetooth ODBII scanner so you can read the error codes on your phone when the van throws a check engine light.
Absolutely shattered for you both (and myself) that the trip has been cut short. I really love your Redemption vids BK. They're so much fun watching you guys push yourselves. Super entertaining and cannot wait for the next one. Keep the videos comin Brian!💪🏼From a long time follower
Loving Redemption CO so far!
Great Video B, cool to see Alex shredding with you out there. Banger !!! 👍👍
Holy.....that's why i always wear a back protector when riding gnarly stuff.
So glad you survived that "off" Brian, but that back looks like it hurts a lot man. Excellent video throughout, as always! Cheers!
Great Video! Brings back lots of memories, camping at Elephant rock, mountain biking all around the area, and whitewater kayaking on the Arkansas River.
So cool!
I used to spend my summers in Buena Vista when I was a kid, long before MTB was a thing. Cool to see the tunnel again.
Very cool!
Kudos to you Brian for continuing with those gnarly rock sections after that fall! Hope your back heals up quickly!
Thanks Seth! Much better now!
That’s a hidden jet up there, everyone rides Monarch Crest and Cottonwood in and around Salida. I love that trail, the top is around 9000ft.
What an absolute relentless trail! Nice riding through the pain
Glad you're okay! Great footage and amazed you kept going. Glad to know you're human but can't believe that's your worst crash with everything you do. Keep riding!
The three of you are absolutely incredibly thumbs up in tackling such bike trails. Selamangat BKXC! (Congrats BKXC!)
Thanks!

Man, can’t believe you were able to walk away from that one. Glad you’re ok! Great vid!
Fun to watch.
Glad you’re alright, crashes like that are scary.
Ride on 🤘
this kind of treal is what i like. watching from the phillipines...
also like biking
The squirrel catcher on vitamin B is no joke. I have yet to ride it, props for trying it!
Alexe's skills have improved so much after he took a long time off!

I had the same moment. I thought I was about the same skill level as him. Watching samplers video humbled me, quickly.
I know right??? same here! Brian can actually shred on his bike! Also, I think he's on a 29'??? and he's throwing that thing around under him like it's nothing 😍
Thanks so much!!
Glad you rode away from that crash man. Adrenaline must be pumping to get through this ride.
Haha yep!
Glad you’re ok! Also-you should get an OBDII scanner for your van so you can figure out what’s wrong on the road! I use the BlueDriver and love it!
I definitely should just buy one of those scanners!
Cheesy commercial intro had me rolling.
That trail is nuts!
Haha glad to hear it!
Buy an OBD2 reader for that check engine light. It'll tell you what's going on via an app on your phone and you can get some idea of whether you need to be really concerned or not.
Glad you are generally fine. Rare to see you fall. Enjoyed the video - very tech.
Glad your not hurt! More stories for the future grandkids!.
Most definitely!!
Hope you are mending well Brian. Love the videos you guys make as they inspire us all to test ourselves.... In moderation of course. Cheers Lads. 🍻👍
Riverpromax 2 years daily use. Love it.
Get a code reader for the van so you know if you can ignore the check engine light for a while.
Head over to the Cottonwood Hot Springs near Buena Vista to ease that back pain. They have multiple pools at varying temps AND a steam room. I was there about a week after separating my acl in my shoulder and ohhhh did it help!
Oh man, should have done it!
Took that like a champ, gg 🤙

That moment when you commit to a line, and realize you screwed up but it's too late to correct! De worst!
Wowsers. What a hit. Glad you're okay man. Great start to my day... I just came from watching episode 2 and now this one.
I wouldn't mind wearing the full face more often, I just forgot to bring it on this trip!
Really enjoying this series! You guys are riding these trails better than I ever have. 🤙🏽
Thanks!!
Gnarly spell!
Your cat like reflexes have served you well!
One of our boys just broke his collarbone, and I believe that the crash would have been much worse if he was not so agile and fit.
Spill*
That was a hard hit!!! I felt that. Glad you're okay BK!
Those are some gnarly looking boulders 😯 glad you’re okay 🤙🏻
Big bad boulders!
Most definitely! I actually hurt my ribs later after I got home and they are still sore!
Build a little diesel, drip heater system really simple to build and you can put it inside like a little harbor freight pelican case
I dream of hitting these trails.. maybe see you out there one day
He said "this trail used to be illegal" ...
Commencement of the display for perhaps reasons why...
:crash, wreck, burn, etc...
😅🤭😎🤷♂️
Glad your doing ok after that hit. Rest up and ride out. Redemption CO is awesome so far.
Hola amigo, cuando vendrás a Chile a conocer rutas por estos lados, saludos desde la serena.
Oh man, I almost forgot about the scratched stanchion!
Get a cheap OBD2 scanner.. you can see what's causing the light on your dash and reduce the worry .
Quite fall. Lucked out better then I did. Good to see you’re doing good!
Hi Brian! This track is too much over the comfort zone! Take care!
Pick yourself up a scanner, you can get one at just about any auto parts store, it'll save you money if you already know what wrong with it when you take it in to get fixed or if you fix it yourself
4:02 HUNGA! YOOOO!!!
Great ride. 👍🏻. Looking forward to the new bike build. 🎉
I'll see you on the trail that rock said...
I spent a week there hiking around gods hand and WOW that place is beautiful
most guys would have called it after that crash. you are a beast
I’m gonna buy a back protector now. That looked painful, and just a couple inches from a spinal injury!
I rode Vitamin B over the summer and when I saw that first section I couldn’t imagine cleaning it. Luckily didn’t have any bad falls during the rest of it, but man it’s easily one of the more demanding trails I’ve rode in CO. I was wiped by the time we got back to the car.
Very demanding!! It is only about 8 miles "downhill" too! I was glad to be done.
I was scared for your $1,000 derailleur this entire video!
🤣
Hahaha!
This series is so enjoyable!
That's cool you have mics on each other for us 😍
Just get a code reader for your van. They're pretty inexpensive and you'd be able find out if the check engine light is really a concern or not. Another perk is that you'd be able to clear the code if it's something dumb.

Haha, that would be awesome!! It's great to have support to keep this thing rolling!
As B went over his bars he thought.....what a great spot for a commercial??
Huge fan of you from south Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
This is a huge ZENDURO place! :D
