Thanks! We have to change the plug on our golf cart charger because an idiot "handyman" came to fix our garage door and tried to move the golf cart when it was still plugged in. He didn't fix the garage door either. 😡

Thanks Todd. I had to replace the ends of an extension cord and had no idea which colors went to which screw, with the black on the left gold screw. I also had to do the other side, the female adapter, and didn't realize at first that aside from the ground being in the same place, the black had to be on the opposite right side where the gold screw was instead of on the left like on the male plug end. So it's always Black to Gold, White to Silver. Live and learn. Again, for me your video was a huge help.

I would have liked to see you pull on it to see if cord is held securely by the strain relief clamping action.
Also, you can never get electrical connections tight enough with a Phillips screwdriver, that's why there is also a SLOT on the connection screws to give it more torque and hold the wires more securely.

I just mimicked what you did on an SJWT 3C/16 extension cable w/ a missing ground prong. Perfect fit. Looking at how the wires are held, it's easy to see why one shouldn't yank the cord out of a receptacle by the cable instead of the plug.

If your cord is better like a 14/3 the wire won't fit well in one of these Leviton, they are better for 16/3. Forget a 12/3. The Leviton I got, they stopped color coding the screws.

Is this Leviton model compatible with a 11.5 amp plug? (120 Volt Vitamix grounding prong broke off) I’m a novice but handy and your video is easy to follow. From my Amazon search, looks like this will work as this model came up as well as another Leviton 125 v.

I don't know why he's wearing gloves but what I do know is it's not to prevent electrical shock. Why would anyone do this with live current? When it's not necessary.

I just pulled my treadmill, That has been in storage for a couple of years, Out of storage for use. The 3 prongs on the power chord are still there including the grounding, none of them are loose. The grounding prong is fine. One of the two other prongs has a little rust and the other prong is fine. Is it Ok to plug into outlet or should I replace the entire end or will the rust on the 1 prong cause a problem.

Save yourself some time and aggravation and don’t buy this Leviton plug as this plug is a horrible design as it does not give any clearance for wrapping the wires around the screws and no direction. Poor design and this video is too general as some of the other commenters have pointed out.
