My limit for APSC is the first 56mm f1.2 or the new 18-23-33 f1.4. Any bigger thing is non sense (for that I would go directly for Full frame). I don’t understand the hype for latest bulky releases from Viltrox for Fuji. But instead we still don’t have a small kit lenses with WR, a decent 23 f2.0 or a decent and WR 18 f2.0.
@@tomaskroupakkfoto4132 it’s rediculously big for basically no reason. The Full frame RF 85MM F2 Macro is smaller. Optically the 75MM 1.2 is just as sharp if not sharper, has a significantly wider aperature, and is half the cost. The only benefit of the 90MM is closer focus distance and slightly better auto focus.
@@tomaskroupakkfoto4132 the only place the 90MM is better is auto focus and close focus distance. Otherwise the 75MM is on par or better in most areas. Also with the 75MM if you never updated it that’s why you were having so many issues. Mine was awful when I first got it before the update. It’s still not as good as the 90MM but it’s on par with the new 56MM 1.2.
@@tomaskroupakkfoto4132 what do you mean by shitty copys? If it’s just regarding the auto focus you probably don’t update it (made a massive diffence) or your expectation of the auto focus were to high. It is on par or better than the 56MM WR.
The video is a bit misleading, in the way that none of the photos displayed are from the two lenses. There are still some slides saying that "lens for m43".. so many incorrect information put into a single video. You should just keep the background clean if it's not related to the two discussed lenses
Before showing the images I've put some text giving context. You have the exif data on each image. You just don't have to skip seconds and it will be all very clear. Thanks for the feedback.
have you used the voigtlander 27mm f2? i don't see any results from you on the 27mm f2 from the filename result or is it the XF 27mm 2.8 filename is the voigtlander's one?
No - it's not available yet in my country., I layout my buying process as I've said. You can see pictures here ruclips.net/video/rECg10WYGiA/видео.html and on Instagram Fujifanboys. The voigtlander is good, no questions ask. Just the manual focusing it's a question for me.
@@enshongmiranda not to be mean but my comment was to clarify if this is merely opinion sharing (maybe genuine or for filling up content) or based on experience because I too am curious of 1) the lens value:performance ratio and 2) his genuine opinion from use experience. I see this as thoughts sharing now and I hope others are aware about it too (or maybe I'm the only one not aware of it). I heard from another RUclipsr that dislike manual lens find this lens very fun and usable to his set of bodies (XE4, XT5 and XPro3) so I was wondering if it's just him or others as well. I know the distance scale is limited but it's better than nothing at all like the XF 27mm 2.8 or any other Fuji lens right?
@@amaniahnuar Try watching Samuel Streetlife or Iamtongue if you want to see actual experiences with the Voigt 27mm f2. There are videos by actual Japanese photographers who use it too. I love manual focus lenses and for me, the Mitakon 35mm is the best. Closer to the Voigt, I like the TTArtisan 25mm f2. It's cheap and the manual focus ring is pleasing to use (the haze can be bad though). Manual focusing on the X-Series is very easy. I highly recommend the TTArtisan 25mm to start off and try manual focusing. It's cheap enough to not really be a big loss if you end up not liking MF.
@@amaniahnuaryou have a film distance scale on Fujifilm cameras. Here is a lens very good at manual focus TTArtisan 23mm f1.4 ruclips.net/video/_gWNriLMvnE/видео.html
I have the xH2 with the oled 5.7mp evf, peaking, magnification, Ibis. I don't think MF will be a problem. Also APSc cameras are not as hard to focus because lenses have greater DOF than FF cameras. If you balance out the 1 F stop faster lens this will still be like a f4 on a FF camera. If you use the 3 meter marking and F8 aperature you can zone focus. Or you can experiment and mark in paint a 5 meter focus mark on your own.
If 5 meters is so important and the rest of the voightlander lens' attributes meet your requirements, then make your own mark. Stand 5 meters from a wall, focus via the finder, then put a mark where the lens is at. I do this on many of my lenses. With a silver lens, a red sharpie works great. With a black lens, a tiny dot of nail polish works, use a color that pops from the black. I have sharpie marks on my exposure compensation dials to zero them quickly while I'm not wearing my reading glasses. These are just tools. Make them work the way you want them to.
I agree with this comment. Just use paint. It is such a minor thing that it shouldn’t even be mentioned as a con. I put a new infinity mark on all my m42/m39 lenses because they focus past infinity when used via adapter.
Multumesc Tudor - best thing about your reviews is to see your wonderful photography of Bucharest - city where I was born.(Your photos make me miss it.)
This is the exact thing that's going on in my head. The viltrox 75mm is probably the best lens I've used for the money so I know the 27mm will deliver. But the voit is so small and fun to use.
Any lens of the same focal lens even if you compare a f1.2 to a f 1.4 ,the 1.2 will be larger. The Voightlander is a manual focus lens will be smaller because it has no focus motor and it much slower. I have several Viltrox 1.2 and 1.4 for Fujifilm and the size is no issue. Not everyone is buying cameras for street photography. I also have some Voightlander lens for Nikon ZF and they are great lens, but if you need a lens that capture something that happens quickly ,by the time you can manually focus you will probably miss the shot especially when using apertures with shallow depth of field, if you're not pressured to get a shot and have time to work with your subject the Viltrox lens will give you great results.
I have the Voigtlander and it's fantastic, although of course, occasionally I do miss the fact that it's manual focus; especially for lower light people shots. But 570 grams for the Viltrox is too much for me; it's almost the same weight as the 55-200 lens or the 700-300 lens (they're both 580 grams), which for a walk-around prime lens makes no sense to me. The new Fuji 1.4 lenses (I happily own the 18mm f/1.4) weigh in at around 370gr, which is fine, but that's as far as I want to go.
Would love a 27mm 1.8. That will probably give you the best of speed/size. So over seeing the 45mm in pancake form at 2.8. Good to see Voigtlander go with f2
The samples you show have nothing to do with what youre talking about Sony, Ricoh?😂 Kind of confusing. I still use the original Fuji 27 2.8. Good enough for me.
What about this. You need a modern portrait lens which is not a telephoto one and not a wide one. Which options do you have? 1. Fuji 35 1.4 - no wr, old af system 2. Viltrox 33 1.4 - no high end image quality 3. Sigma 30 1.4 - weak image quality 4. Fuji 33 1.4 - perfect but really expensive Also 40 mm will let you get a little closer to your subject and you will get a subject separation with keeping more connection to the subject than 33 1.4.
If your'e okay with a manual focus lens (which maybe doesn't fit the bill for a "modern" lens), the TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 is a nice cheap option. Several reviews say it’s their sharpest lens for Fujifilm.
@@jaegerschtulmann Well I do like it on my X-T5 (sharpness is decent for my taste), but to be fair I don’t have too many lenses to compare it to, and I’m fine with imperfect results at this price range.
I'm not sure. I would go for this Viltrox 27mm 1.2 for IQ and bokee. It is the best lens in this range, but it is big. Then Sigma 23mm 1.4 for IQ, bokee is busy (maybe too wide for portrait). Fuji 33 1.4 IQ is lower than these 2 but bokee is better than Sigma. So personally I'll go Viltrox 27 1.2. The only 2 areas where camera make a significant difference is portrait and sport/wild life, getting an excellent lens for Portrait is a must. even if bulky. Get a second hand pancake if you have to for street...
It's not the same - as I've said you don't have enough focus throw, so it's irrelevant. It's not well optimized so the marking will not be of any real world use.
@Tudor_Mateescu I see, that's an entirely different problem, though. While the marking can be solved, this one likely not to the full satisfaction. You could make two dots with glue, one on the focus ring, and one on the self made marking. When they align, you know you are at 5m. Admittedly, it's not a very appealing solution.
