Coming from 2019 P100D owner with 37k miles, I can attest that tires are an issue…for me I went about two years without a single problem but then within a short span of a few months I had to replace all 4 tires $$. (All tires still had plenty of life in them) One was from running over a bolt in the highway, which isn’t a Tesla issue. Then I ran over a city sign that was laying on the road and it slit the new tire, again not really a Tesla fault. Then, the worst one, driving at night over bumpy railroad tracks, both passenger side tires got pinched and the sidewalll blew out. I do think that is more of a Tesla issue because the low profile 21” wheels and a heavy car. Needless to say after all that trauma I decided to change to 19” wheels. The 19” wheels provide more buffer for bumps in the road and I get a good increase in range near 10% extra. Also because the wheels are the same (not staggered) I can rotate all 4 corners. I will likely never get a low profile wheel on another Tesla again, unless the roads are perfectly smooth. About the pricing, I was very close to pulling the trigger on a new Model S long range due to the huge price cuts and the opportunity to transfer FSD in Q3 of 2023. But honestly my P100D is great and I’d rather not pay extra taxes and insurance and registration for a very similar car. Also the Tesla “sales people” were super pushy which was a huge turn off. I personally wouldn’t pay for a Plaid, I’d rather have longer range. The joy of 0-60 has worn off on me as I approach my later 30’s. I drive my P100D in chill mode, cause I really don’t care about snapping my neck off. I guess I’m just getting older. If I were in my 20’s, I’m sure I would care more. Regarding tire wear, I believe people that burn thru tires in 10k miles are accelerating/braking more aggressively than the average person. I had my original tires for over 30k miles and they still had at least 10-20k miles left in them. I also drive like a grandma or have fsd do most of my driving.
Yeah definitely. Sorry to hear about your tire issues. They definitely get worn from ripping it on the road, which if you have a plaid, thats the whole point! Hahahah. Respect for those that dont want the plaid tho for sure! Best of luck with your tesla my man thanks for watching and leaving an awesome comment.
You should upload your Plaid videos on X. The biggest Tesla community is on there. You’ll probably be able to get many more views there. At any rate, I recommended this video there.
Current price for Model S Plaid... With 21" Wheels... Red paint.. dark interior is $106,490 . I get that it is disappointing to have purchased when it was at a much higher price point. Having said that.... When they offered to transfer the free supercharging from my current 2015 P90DL to a new Model S, I jumped on the deal. $91,990 for Plaid in Ultra Red, 19" wheels and Cream interior. I get the months of FSB.... 90% sure I will just purchase it then. Total then will be $103,990 with free supercharging for life. Sweet deal!
I will never buy a new Tesla. My 2021 Y Performance dropped about 8 thousand dollars after I purchased it a month late😮. I got smart and just purchased a a 2021 Model S long range for 52,990 with 30,400 miles on it and it’s immaculate! Bought it from Tesla and it was a leased car, one owner 😊. I saved at least 30 to 40 thousand bucks. Tesla prices are just too unstable.
I totally see where you are coming from, but i sorta disagree. For one reason really. The speed. Cant get anything like it for that cheap, with the tech like this. Its amazing! Not perfect, but amazing.
So you left Albuquerque with just 3 tires? No wonder your wheel fell off when you left Jacksonville. Everyone knows driving a car with just 3 tires will mess it up bigtime.
BAHAHAH no no that was very far apart - I was stuck in new mexico for a week and got a temporary replacement, then got an official michelin replacement. The wheel fell off many months later bc of the wrap company that did my car. They didnt tighten the wheel, and my insurance company lost the lawsuit. I got screwed over big time.

It's $90k now and it's a great deal at that price.
Its an insane deal. I dont regret making my purchase when i did, paid off anyways, but man! What a steal!
Happy birthday Jett!! Thanks for taking care of ToZo when he needed it most. 🎉❤
How's the insurance on the Plaid? I have a model Y LR in Florida and the insurance is just a little higher than a regular gas car

The 19 inch wheels won’t cause inner tire wear. May not look as sharp as the 21 inch ones but the tires will last much longer.
Interesting - maybe I should look into that. I am also considering the track set.

this wrap looks sick bro, but i would take out that red outline of the rims
thanks bro!!!
33k on my plaid 19’ same tires. I drive it very hard. Something is definitely not right with the tires.
“and from there my wheel fell off”.. no details as to why?
How did the wheel fall off?
The wrap company didnt tighten my wheel :(
Can you make some 1/4mile runs so we can see the power loss over time? Please. Thq.
Yes! I been meaning to do this. I am going on a road trip soon maybe Ill try it out on my trip! Thanks for watching my friend.
Did you lose range in 40,000 miles?
No sir!
Makes me think these cars where too overpriced to begin with?

@@TozoTeslano where else can you get 1000 hp with all the tech for less than $140k
