    I'm super glad you're a happy customer, thanks for the really thoughtful review! Your suggestion on layering info is definitely food for thought, and overall this video was just very entertaining - thanks for using me as clickbait! (I take it as the highest form of flattery)

      Hey Jazza, I got these brushes, I noticed a few have an issue with increasing the brush size. They seem to break. I use larger canvas sizes in Clip Studio Paint. For some the texture size isn't linked to brush size and I don't know how to link it myself. 😞
      (*Update*) After looking into this issue, it seems this is a fault in the programming of how brushes work in CSP. In some instances brush size and Partical Size are not longer linked and so you basically have to use Partical Size as you would brush size. I have found this corrects the issue.

      @@Crazy_Sue I use them in CSP too, but they always disappear after closing the programm, and I have to reimport them every time. Did that ever happen to you? Still hoping for a solution ^^"

    The layering question is one that is probably not easily answered because, with me personally anyway, it depends what you are working on that determines what you do with that layer and what style you are doing. I personally overuse the layers in digital art, and that sometimes works against me. but the good thing about overusing layers is it is a lot easier to merge layers together than it is to try to separate them later.

    I really appreciate you showing how you changed from your initial sketch to the final helmet. A good reminder that we aren’t stuck to the first idea.

    About the layer question, the workflow I've seen most of the time is painting on a layer below your sketch until the sketch starts "getting in the way". When the rendering is detailed enough you either turn off your sketch completely or create another layer on top of everything and continue painting on that so your sketch gets slowly incorporated into the final art piece.

    I bought the brushes but was very happy to see your review and your thoughts. It sounded like a great price to me and I am just learning digital art so it was great to get a huge set of good brushes all at once instead of 20.00 here and there. I hope you get more traffic to your channel. very in-depth review and great camera work.

    It is interesting to see people buying brush packs... I've been doing digital for the past 7-8 years I have always settled with the default brushes or make my own brush set but I end up using just 1 brush or 2 at most for everything.... I can't imagine using or even trying out 80+ brushes 😅😂 Good review btw 👍🏻

    After watching the whole video I went to the comment and was surprised to see there are none. Your video was so well put and entertaining to the end I assumed you were a huge art community RUclipsr. I didn't get the handbook (yet), but firsthand experience those brushes work like a dream. I've used them for plants (and this isn't just the grass brush), clothing texture, snow, sky, adding auras, metals, etc. I haven't used all the brushes but the water brushes are a fun go to along with the charcoal. I've used the fog brushes as well. Overall highly recommend and I also would state play with them use them in ways other than what they were created for. The fog brush was great to making auras/ working on a smaller scale to create softer snow texture. I have bought 80 dollar digital art sets for photoshop and jazzas brushes are just better. Honestly he's being humble at his price point because they could have easily marketed for 50 bucks at the cheaper end. Anyways just an artist giving a perspective on it I do DnD freelance with my fiance I help with the art while she writes and does stats, so this pack has been beneficial with that.

      It's a bit of a process to learn a program, but very fun. There are many advantages with digital. Various tools in the program give you a lot of power, and you can still do everything by hand.

    Is anyone able to tell me if the brushset works for affinity photo? :D

    • @CursedMonkeyArt
      @CursedMonkeyArt  Год назад

      It's made to 4 programs, listed on his site. There is a 5th that can take them that Jazza mentioned in a recent video. I don't know if Affinity would do it. Perhaps if it can import photoshop brushes, it would work. Even if it can take photoshop brushes, I wouldn't count on them working as designed.
