Love all your shows Shaun,I been bringing catching up,Darren gee was the only one I couldnt listen to after only 10mins in,but that wasn't your fault bro👍
John is amazing so articulate and a great voice for recounting his stories and experiences. Thanks Shaun love your channel as always and thanks John for coming back. You always bring a chuckle, what I love is how I find myself being in your story, be it your POV or watching at the side as things unfold like a movie. That’s the mark of a great storyteller👍👊

I've got to be honest ..I could listen to John all day ...he has an innate intelligence and you can understand how he survived the situations . He also has a fantastic way of simplifying things ...his use of metaphors really draws you in , he's my favourite guest by far .

I started with Thompson and I’m working my way back. It never ceases to amaze me how highly intelligent and articulate people like John end up banged up. It sounds like he got square, but wouldn’t a biographical movie about his life be a great thing?
I'm not sure if it deliberate, Shaun you look and sound like you are a hostage in the 'message from our sponsor', was the vigilante in the room forcing you to speak?
Great interview Shaun ! I love when the two of you are on together,it just flows . Johns story’s are so interesting , I will have to go back to watch all 4 again, as sometimes I missed bits due to laughing. Your smile & laughter is so lovely to see ,just a joy to watch.
Not altogether true. I was there. If you were a white boy; and not just a "Caucasian " dude, it time to saddle up. That comment sounded like there was some kind of flood of Irish folks. The Shamrock was indicative of the tip because it represents the purest of the race...
I can't stress enough how good this guy is to listen to. It's like listening to a reading of a steinbeck or bukowski book for mine. Pure entertainment.
Shaun if you want to blow everyone's minds do a deep dive and dig on Arnold's background .. particularly his father and paternal family side. Unbelievable .
What a birthday present, thanks Shaun, I was 53 on the 13,..highlight of my day a couple of hours of great content with John.. I have to call it as it is and there's no better content company on RUclips I've seen than shauns and his team.. And people pay the BBC nearly £200 a year for that constant supply of sh#t and the real talent is here.. Well. Shaun us boys of 68 know a good thing when we see it.. I absolutely love John Abbott and i could listen to him talk all day. Some great questions posed to him here especially the last one, his response about older men passing down their wisdom was spot on. I love how he brings up Wildman throughout the interview 🙌. Legend. Thank you Shaun
John Abbot ought to make his own YT channel podcasting on Japanese history, interesting anecdotes and his wealth of life experiences would be ideal and very successful!
love listening to John,.... have to correct him though on one of his stories,... sourcing the paper is actually harder than sourcing the plates when it comes to counterfeiting money.
I think John is the example of how a regular guy can make his way through life on his own terms. Put in a terrible situation and over coming it. Like he said, elders sharing experience with the younger.
I do tip. My husband used to take Mr. Pink's view and not tip at all before we got married, but has since changed his tune. John Abbott being an ex con would've been good in Justified a show from FX about a US Marshal in Kentucky.

I was on a 4 yard for 3 yrs and went to the chow hall for lunch like any other day. But this day, a cocky Sgt decided to sit in the ABs shot callers spot that everyone on the yard knew not to go near. Silence fell quickly as we all lined up for our trays. Nobody was eating, just watching, waiting. Sure enough a youngster smashed the Sgts face with his hard plastic tray and all hell broke loose. I was literally walking out when this happened so I didn't catch a beat down for not participating. The C.O. in the tower did make us all hit the dirt right outside the chowhall while pointing his AR15 directly at us. What's strange is I felt no fear. I wasn't a tough guy in prison, played alot of basketball and was a teachers aid. But to this day if that CO had decided to open fire, I may not be here. What's strange is that part of my life seems like someone else's. I did a full 5.2 yrs and I do have the occasional nightmare but other than that, it's as if it didn't happen. Strange.
