@@flyguy8068 it's the lack of popularity. I love them and use mine, but I'm usually one of a very few at the mountain that day and sometimes the only one.
i went looking for ski blade videos because theyre hilarious and to my surprise I only found serious ski blade videos..until this one, thank you for the excellent cinematography
Hey youre the bees knees and shell toed elbows, love this, Im currently you know, losing my mind, got those 5th element el chubb skiboards, got a super deal on boots then couldnt figure out how to secure my boot in my binding, were about to get a bundle of snow this weekend finally, I work 7 days a week and cant take a day off but Ill be heading to the mountain Sunday as long as I can, only been down the slopes once, that was 2 years ago, went with two buddies and theyre competent snow boarders, I rented the skiboards, got a lot of hate on the mountain, couldn't tackle the bunny slope when I first started, by the time we left it was raining at 32 degrees and made pure ice on the whole mountain, most people were just sitting and waiting it out because apparently conditions were pretty bad, my friends couldnt keep up with me the last few runs, kids were screaming at me to fall, it was the fastest Id ever gone in my life outside of a vehicle and it felt great, I wanted more speed that day, anyway I cant figure out the boot situation so I open about 600 tabs on skis bindings and boots, Im swimming some may say drowning in the sauce of snow sport, all I need is the slightest push of guidance and I will be eddie the eagle off and shining down the hills, any advice on where to look or what brand is quality, whats a good price, am I worthless garbage that should just accept my loose boots and rock it like a rocket and keep my dollars in my pocket, or if living life to the dullest can be turned to the fullest which way do I go?
Nice vid. It is much fun when you are with group of boarders. Normally I ski, but boarders are slow. So i take the blades for fun. It's more difficult, because you can fall easier forward and backward. And it's heavier for the legs.
I knew the terrain park and some of the cliffs looked familiar. The video covered some runs off Great Western/snake creek Upper and lower terrain parks off of Crest, and cliffs off of Milly Express.
I haven't skied in 10 years but last pair I rode was ski blades and I remember them exactly as pictured. A completely ridiculous and hilarious way to get around a mountain. I was never 1/10 as good as you, though.
I've been thinking of something like this, but narrower, to be used for skating (with or without poles) on ice up walking paths that you often get in parks and on sidewalks. How do these wide things work on such surfaces for skating?
These are just plain wrong for a large person or eh..hmmm older person. It looks like you grabbed your kids ski's and tried them out is what it looks like. Onto the physics, at least from just watching the user appears shaky and out of control when doing crafted turns. On other words, this idea needs to move on to the idea file. That's my opinion and personally I'm happy to not see them on the resort...
+Roger Diotte Yeah, it does look a bit weird, but I can tell you, it's great! I have no problems controlling my Snowblades, although I am 186cm tall! That's mostly because they are not just shrunk down/ kid's skis, they have different edges, which prohibit you from doing a snow plough for example. I think one should at least try them once, because they look different from what they are ;)
How does this not have more views?? Not only is the skiing surprisingly good, but this video is hilarious. Keep em' coming!
Tons of respect to anyone that still has and rides skiboards.
Why u say that? What's the big deal with using em?

this is the best video on youtube
@ILLYA GAMING stop lying
I love how every time he's in the air he flails his limbs like "oh shit". Zero finesse, and yet so much skill.
best video about skiblading on youtube. kudos to you, dude
Just started skiboarding and this was inspirational!
Great inspiration for my first day skiblading tomorrow. Watching the "outtakes" video helped a ton, too.
Did you survive or quit?! Lol
@@googleuser-ly2ek Ha! Memories. It was terrifying. I survived, and never went skiblading again.
0:31 i through that you were 30 feet into the air wtf

This display of athleticism is on par with any of the greats. Ali in the jungle, Usain Bolt’s world record, and the gnarliest ski blading.
Hidden gem of snowvideos
That looks like a lot of fun

I always had the perception that with my snowblades, while slower and with less 'brakes', I get more control less demanding for my legs 🤔
Then your snowboarders are slow af😅😂🙏

i know this was a very long time ago, but did you use nonrelease bindings?
bo r the bindings do not release.
+bo r the bindings do not release
@@Exuberator aren't those bindings more dangerous for certain injuries ?
I wanna buy snowblades, but not sure with which bindings
Jordy Beat they are short enough don’t really need a release.
@@Exuberator OK! Any recommendation on which to buy?
love that stance at :20 it's so 70s
Dude! Awesome.
楽しませてもらいました!
where do you buy them
Any recommendations on ski blade brands?
Revel8, and I think " head" makes them as well also K2 if I'm not wrong .
But there are quite a few brands that make skiboards.
@@wavesound501 Thank you!
how long are those? cm?
Usually 85 to 100 cm

Should have taken out those two pole polishers at the end too! Lmao!
They mean no harm, but doesn’t mean no respect
I love BIGFOOTS !!

YES! I use to own and use a pair for Bigfoot ski blades! No lie, I enjoyed skiing on them more than anything else.

Why can't you snowplow with them? I'm a new skier, 5'4" and I ski on 130-140 cm skis. Short skis seem a lot easier to learn on.
