So stoked to see that you’re still doing this type of filming and not using those lame ass drones or playing background music during the ride. Love your channel!!
Get back over here. Wak yo ass up! Drone footage wouldn't have been that bad on thus video in a few spots, he just didn't really need it. Alright, go back to sleep.
Glad to see some people utilizing and enjoying Tahoe! I used to live in SF and Tahoe was always a Favorite of mine and as an Easterner I have ONLY good things to say about it all- ride safe guys!
“A little bit of chunder”... nice euphemism for pedal strike city. And that view of the truckee from above is always breathtaking. Nice summary of one of the many sweet rides in the area.
That area is still on my to-do list for North Tahoe. Funny thing was that while you guys were riding that, I was on the other side of the hill riding Big Chief trails at the exact same time. Weather has been PERFECT that weekend and the small storms we were getting made for some serious brown pow!!! Now to get you and Robert (B1KER B1) over the hill to Carson City to sample our singletrack. I know you rode with Jonathan Lee in Reno (actually he is how I found your videos when I busted my leg in 2016 as he and I raced together for a short while) but I think that Carson has MUCH MORE to offer than Peavine Mtn. But then again I am biased!! Great vids as always!
I live super close to this trail. I'm going to have to check it out sometime this summer. I love it when channels provide detailed directions to the trail they were riding.
I’ve done this route many times, nice ride along Thunder Cliffs, Twin Crags, dumps you out where there is plenty of parking, heliport is there and fire station.
Youre in my old stompin' grounds. Glad to see park rangers arent being called like in late 70s early 80s. That was the funnest part for us..blaxingbdown the mountai runnin' from the rangers or cops. Thanks for all the great videos. Me and a buddy got left in South Lake Tahoe in high schooll. We walked all the way around the Nirth shore. Took all night
Thanks for being consistent with videos and all the entertainment. Your videos help me get motivated to ride after those long works days but want to ride afterwards.
I road this section of the TRT ~10 years ago with a hard tail ... the last section back down to Tahoe City is the only place I've ever gotten a *triple* pinch flat (3 holes in the tube) - it's that rocky. Fortunately one of the others riders in the group had a spare tube.
Great video--your editing choices are really good! Your vids do a great job of taking the viewer along for the ride. Being East Coast viewers, you give us a very tasteful feel of "place" in your work. I love the extra footage of town here (again, it really contributes to the "travelogue" feel!) Well done!
It's so nice to encounter trails that have a little bit of everything. Decent climbs followed by tons of flow with some jank mixed in. Really cool stuff on these trails!
Very nice. I was able to get three Tahoe trips in this year myself. On the south side though. We were fortunate enough to have my buddy’s wife shuttle us as well. Best trails with the best views! 👍
Got directions to the same trail from one of the bike shops when I was there last year. Great ride. Had an encounter with a large deer. Rates on my all time list.
Dude, the views on that trail and the trail itself are amazing,, BUT I gotta say that the editing on the video is on another level, really cool info with the little cards..
I watch your videos every night, help me to relax and your videos I must say are well put together. Thanks for sharing with us. Will be looking out for the next trail adventure :)
Rad vid Brian, Tahoe is amazing to ride, like your comment about not seeing much wildlife mountain biking vs road riding, I rode some trails near the Grudge in Simi yesterday just before sunset and saw a mountain lion perched up on a ledge on those rocks, and was glad I had my bear spray!! You have mentioned always wanting to see a mountain lion while riding, trust me it will scare the shit out of you!
Just camped out on that trail in July! I was over by Spooner Summit (just outside of Carson City)! No kidding did we have a hard time finding a good camping spot 300 ft off the trail! Some of the best views you can find though!
You should do a video where you make a "must do rides" list broken up into a few regions of the US. So "must do West coast rides", "must do PNW rides", "must do east coast rides". It could be a cool series to highlight your all time favorites.
You’re doing a great job on your edits these days Brian. Well done. I love that you don’t add any freaking music! Please never do that! Another epic ride dude. Keep up the good work👍🏻.
Nice fancy new overlay effects Brian! I like the trail name & difficulty animation. I would suggest the swoop sound effect being a bit quieter though. Sorry to invade the RUclips comments, but I wanted to clarify some info about your commentary regarding Trailforks selling ridelog data. This is not true, but It has been something we've thought about as a possible revenue source, but not in the way you describe. We could sell some sort of special features using aggregated ridelog data to land managers. But most the aggregated ridelog trail usage data is available for free publicly on the website already, we'd have to come up with some more data or remove some of what exists from the public (but still make accessible to trail associations for free). We've given trail data away for free many times to various city planners, consultants, researchers, non-profits. We should charge more often for that, but we don't have the time and resources to manage it, so it's often easier to just give data if they agree to our data-use terms. But this is trail gps track data, not ridelog usage data. We've never given or sold that to anyone in any form, nor would we. Like I mentioned above the only thing we could possibly do in the future is sell access to aggregated and anonymized views of the ridelog data matched against our trail data. (Example: www.trailforks.com/region/tahoe-city/ridelogstats/) We would never sell or give away the actual ride gps track data. We do have a deal with Garmin to provide trail GPS data for their Trailforks powered basemap on the new Edge 530 and 830 devices. Basically we are too busy too even pursue selling data! We do use your ridelog data for Trailforks though, to help improve the map for everyone. That aggregated data is used to determine what the most popular trails are in a region, average times to ride a trail, determine the most popular routes, generate popular routes & help suggest routes matching your ride history. It also helps contributors improve the gps track accuracy of trails. And provides those trail usage statistics that can be a valuable planning and advocacy tool for trail associations. I will stop rambling now! :P I need to ride Tahoe, it's always too early in the year when I'm down that way for Sea Otter.
Hello Brian, I think that there are a wealth of trails waiting for your blessing in the Bear Valley /Lake Alpine area. Was there on the weekend of October 5 & 6 and was pleasantly surprised at what was there.
Dang! Another place to put on my wishlist of places to ride, of course after I get a new mountain bike. I retired mine from offroad use and gave it to an old Retired Navy guy who just needed a bike for back country roads.
Not many people really are. There's an amazing story "This American Life" did about a woman fighting for her life against a rabid raccoon. These animals are far more powerful than you'd ever imagine. Worth a listen.
Oh and regarding merchandise, would have one over here in England pretty quickly if there were other colour options. I know you don’t wanna be bogged down with multiple boxes for every shade of black, but red I just cannot wear. Now blue/navy/slate I could get along with 👍
Kind of surprised this is your first time in the area since your so close(*for the channel). Reno, Tahoe, and Carson City has a vast amount of great trails
Was just there. Did a different trail/route. Saw a huge black bear on our ride and tons of bear scat on the trails. If you feel like being fancy, go to Garwoods for dinner. Very good.
If you haven't been there, you should check out the Rim Trail from Stanford Rock/Twin Peaks down to Tahoe City. Perhaps the best section of the Rim Trail.
We will finish the Stanford Rock Project this year. TAMBA has built nearly 5 miles of bike optimized singletrack on Stanford Rock. We have about another mile to finish this year. Converting it from old logging road to bike optimized singletrack. One of the best, and least well known views in Tahoe from the top. Stanford Rock sits on top of a rock “castle parapet” with unreal views. We completed the summit section in 2019.
Damn shame we spent 6 nights in Mammoth in September 2018 when we were over from the UK and didn’t stay a few nights in Tahoe. That riding looks so much nicer compared to Mammoth, which is basically trails full of kitty litter. Nice video, now with pop-out tags 👍
Watching from NC, hehehe-- Just wondering since your Brother is in such amazing shape you guys don't ride together or film more often? Seems his 2018 Spectral is holding up well, I have a 2018 6.0, I didn't want to break the bank on my 1st full suspension, upgraded seat and carbon wheels. I am 64, still out there and happy with green/blue intermediate trails, keeps me in far better shape that the typical guy my age.I have 4 days off and been checking Trailforks myself for a few days of riding
Brian, I honestly thought we were going to see a mountain lion, or a bear during this ride, judging from the title ALL TIME surprise. Loved this video, your production level, and bullet points in the video are top notch, you are for sure head and shoulders above everybody else, loam ranger is a close second, lol. Yeah love seeing you, and your brother ride together. Cheers from Newfoundland.
So stoked to see that you’re still doing this type of filming and not using those lame ass drones or playing background music during the ride. Love your channel!!
Yeah because awesome looking drone footage and good music to create an even more immersive viewing experience is sooo terrible!
Glad you like it
@@br2973 that just doesn’t fit the mood of this video
Get back over here. Wak yo ass up! Drone footage wouldn't have been that bad on thus video in a few spots, he just didn't really need it. Alright, go back to sleep.
Glad to see some people utilizing and enjoying Tahoe! I used to live in SF and Tahoe was always a Favorite of mine and as an Easterner I have ONLY good things to say about it all- ride safe guys!
The thing about hiking/biking the Rim Trail or Mt. Tallac -- wherever you stop or if you get to the top/end -- the view is breathtaking
Most definitely!
“A little bit of chunder”... nice euphemism for pedal strike city. And that view of the truckee from above is always breathtaking. Nice summary of one of the many sweet rides in the area.
It was a great day!
The editing design looks awesome! Keep it up!

I did big Chief the next day!!
I live super close to this trail. I'm going to have to check it out sometime this summer. I love it when channels provide detailed directions to the trail they were riding.

Thanks for all the great videos. Me and a buddy got left in South Lake Tahoe in high schooll. We walked all the way around the Nirth shore. Took all night
I love the little pop up graphics.(especially the ones naming rivers and lakes) They are a nice touch.
I've been to Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side, when I was in Reno... it's nice.
Thanks for being consistent with videos and all the entertainment. Your videos help me get motivated to ride after those long works days but want to ride afterwards.
My pleasure!!
its amazing to see a real brothers riding together and its all i wanted ride with my sons and brothers its so cool i guess.
I used to live in incline village this is a great video being stuck in Los Angeles San Fernando Valley now!! Home sweet home my friend nice video!
Quebec, hawaii and lake tahoe ! talk about a winning streak !!!
Haha most definitely!!
I'm digging the new graphics (landmark labels, temperatures). Very high quality stuff..
"I'm not prepared to fight a raccoon"...Love it lol
Haha, it’s crazy how intimidating an animal that stands it’s ground is.
I hiked a portion of that trail when I was in SF on business. BEAUTIFUL area! Nice to see you back out with Justin! Be safe! Thanks!
Thanks dude!

Thanks a ton Eric! Glad you dig the vids
Love the way you marked points of interest on the video! Super cool video looks like a good ride!
Was in Tahoe last summer (from the east coast), I want to move there. It seems to have just the right amount of everything.
It's so nice to encounter trails that have a little bit of everything. Decent climbs followed by tons of flow with some jank mixed in. Really cool stuff on these trails!
Yeah it was mint!
Loving the graphics in this video. Clean, informative and not to distracting.
Great to see a big Chanel showing love to my local trails!!
Nice video. Love that area and have always wanted to go there. Keep up the good work of inspiring others like me to get out there and do it to.
I love the conversion that you do for the temperature and distance ! Makes my life soo easy.
Thanks bro great vid!
Really love the descriptive editing on this video. Nice touch.
I love it when the weather is perfect for riding
Lake Tahoe is always so beautiful!
Very nice. I was able to get three Tahoe trips in this year myself. On the south side though. We were fortunate enough to have my buddy’s wife shuttle us as well. Best trails with the best views! 👍
That’s great!!

I like the editing with this video
Love the new labels for the trail and lakes now in your videos
That is definitely a dream trail! So beautiful. Thanks for taking us there
Keeping the XC in BKXC still alive! I dig it!
Big time!!
Was in Tahoe a week and a half ago. Had my eyes out on Mr. Toads Wild ride ! Such a killer trail. Tahoe is minty !
The editing in this video is my favorite for all your videos.
Thanks!!
Ahhh. BKXC, a cup of coffee, and some of my favorite Tahoe trails. Best way to start the day
Dude, the views on that trail and the trail itself are amazing,, BUT I gotta say that the editing on the video is on another level, really cool info with the little cards..
Thanks!
Tahoe is so beautiful. Glad you showed if off.
Lake Tahoe is awesome anywhere, everywhere, anytime, and everytime!... even in winter :)
I’ve been there...awesome! Try Flume Trail via North Canyon from Spooner Lake. Fun. Beautiful.
I watch your videos every night, help me to relax and your videos I must say are well put together. Thanks for sharing with us. Will be looking out for the next trail adventure :)

Holy moly that’s crazy!!
Nice video. Love my Ripmo because it’s fine for pedally trails as well as gnar. I have that Wolftooth lever on mine and love it.
Awesome!
Damn, BKXC! You really improved your editing skills over the years! Really nice to see!
Keep on rollin! :-)
One of your best videos I’ve watched. Nice job. Looks like an amazing trail system.
Thanks Bill!
Great video Brian and what a nice ride. If I am ever there I will have to do it, thanks man.
It was so good!
Just camped out on that trail in July! I was over by Spooner Summit (just outside of Carson City)! No kidding did we have a hard time finding a good camping spot 300 ft off the trail! Some of the best views you can find though!

Thanks for that clarification, Trevor!! I appreciate you taking the time, as we all know the paranoia with data is a hot topic.
"I'm not prepared to fight a raccoon!"
Hahahhaa. Best line of 2019
Riding this next week! Thanks for the inspiration!
I usually ride TRT from Brockway summit to Tahoe city when I ride that area.
John Murphy yea I like it from brockway summit to the base of Squaw
Nice trail!! New editing is so good!!
Love it when you show maps. Bcpov does it a lot and it’s great
Nice editing Brian ! Getting really good with the popup stuff ! Like it !
Hello Brian, I think that there are a wealth of trails waiting for your blessing in the Bear Valley /Lake Alpine area. Was there on the weekend of October 5 & 6 and was pleasantly surprised at what was there.
Oh nice! I’ll have to check it out
Loe the new editing on the information, thanks for the awesome video!
Lake Tahoe is majestic! Cool video man.
I’ve camped at star lake and it’s such a cool spot
Haven't been watching every video for the last while; the new annotations on the video are good, keep it up!
Oh man, this ride looks like a ton of fun...not much of this type of ride on the Island...gotta road trip! Loving the new graphics Brian!
Make it happen!!
Love the new edits!!
Dang! Another place to put on my wishlist of places to ride, of course after I get a new mountain bike. I retired mine from offroad use and gave it to an old Retired Navy guy who just needed a bike for back country roads.
Keep the wishlist long my friend !

Those are trash pandas :-p
Not many people really are. There's an amazing story "This American Life" did about a woman fighting for her life against a rabid raccoon. These animals are far more powerful than you'd ever imagine. Worth a listen.
Epic Trails, Epic Views, thanks Brian.
That was quite the view through that entire video!
Gorgeous ride. I'm only a few hours away and it's my skill level. Totally going to ride this fall.
Get there before the snow!
@11:25 How do you operate a Reverb hydraulic dropper with a Wolftooth cable lever?
Oh and regarding merchandise, would have one over here in England pretty quickly if there were other colour options. I know you don’t wanna be bogged down with multiple boxes for every shade of black, but red I just cannot wear. Now blue/navy/slate I could get along with 👍
awesome video and style. Definitely adding Tahoe to riding destinations!
ok, i'm just at 1:17 and already like the new graphics. Bravo Brian !!
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
thanks to your YT videos, I was able to make out to downieville, south lake Tahoe and Northstar. definitely will be back
Oh hell yes!
Kind of surprised this is your first time in the area since your so close(*for the channel). Reno, Tahoe, and Carson City has a vast amount of great trails
man your production value has gotten really good!
Awesome!!! Family First!!! So stoked for you, my brother does not like to ride😏!!! Be thankful yours is at the same level 🤘🏽👍🏽🤙🏽Live-Life-Loud
Another great video Brian actually looked like one I could manage with some of the family
Wow, another great vid, live out there for a year as a kid
That was awesome... nice to see you ride together as well 👍
Lake Tahoe is now at the top of the list.
Nice!
Digging the new editing touches🤙🏼
Brian and Justin - you guys are the John and Hank Green of mountain bike videos! 🤙
Hahaha yes
Nice use of transitions. It's looking more and more professional every year, yet you haven't changed the recipe. Nice man! 😃✌️
Was just there. Did a different trail/route. Saw a huge black bear on our ride and tons of bear scat on the trails. If you feel like being fancy, go to Garwoods for dinner. Very good.

Immediately hooked to your channel. Great action + great scenery 👍
Rode the flume trail earlier this summer. Incredible.
I love this video and can't wait to ride this.
How cool Is that trail man...looks soooo good!
I really enjoyed your biking skills have you ever think about "continental divide trails" maybe for your bucketlist.
Definitely thought about it, but it's so big!
Brian, I honestly thought we were going to see a mountain lion, or a bear during this ride, judging from the title ALL TIME surprise. If you're in Tahoe again try the Standford Rock loop
Beautiful looking place. Nice ride dudes! 👍
