Excellent adventure day. I really hope to ride this place one day without all the insane overgrowth. I was hoping to get my cut out already but have been busy with work. Have it out in next day or so.
Yeah, I rode our here a couple years ago...sucked wind up some fire roads to the ridge, dropped all the way back down to the creek only to be stopped dead in my tracks by impenetrable thickets...ugh. Did manage to chase a bear down the trail though! 🤣 Down to get back out to do some work!
Used to hike all over that area as a 10-13 YO kid. Kudos to you three for staying on the trail I remember so many time losing the trail and roughing it to get back down to Cache Creek. That cold water is always welcome in the July and August heat.
in life is to create a memory a memory that lives for ever and thank you bro to sharing that memories to us specially to me because even if i cant go to that place it feels that ive been thier too riding with you!thank you Brian!!!!hope you stay healthy and stay riding on your bike and im keep on watching to your vid.
To your point at 6:10, you're right, that grass was brought in by European settlers, but in its place before were golden Poppy's. Our "Golden State" motto didn't come from the gold rush, it came from the "golden" hills covered in Poppy's the settlers saw when they arrived.
Another trail I learned about through Brian's video and not that far away. So much potential and just waiting for an organized trail cleanup event. I used to rip through that area on group sportbike rides years ago. Maybe Cache Creek Casino could sponsor something? Hate to see it degrade like that because some parts of it are pretty damn nice and flowing while others need just a couple sticks of dynamite and heavy shears. Thanks again for the fine coverage and appreciation of the great outdoors.
Wow .. beatiful sun tan : ) Next time you go there, please recall to hire a bike at Ben-Hur's, having blades each side will leave the trail ready for the next guys ... But seriously ... good to see you back on trail. Cheers.
That looks like an awesome trail!! Take some power tools and hike it instead of riding. Get that stuff cleared out. Would be a super fun trail for sure.
Gotta show some love for the ATVers, they maintain most of the trails near me while the town does 0. It angers me when people who enjoy hiking hate ATVing in the woods but they’re keeping the trails clear and alive.
“Oh no, a screw is coming loose from my brake lever!” He says, before proceeding to crank the free-stroke adjustment screw all the way in... Might want to double check what you were tightening there, Brian!
I didn’t know that mountain bikes are allowed out there. That place is more of a 4x4/OHV/Dirt bike place. There’s trails out there that connect to Knoxville. Nice ride thought!
Treacherous terrain beautiful friggin Trail B, and yet it still looked fun as hell, Hey just out of curiosity why dont you have or keep a can Repel around the even have the Eucalyptus natural type for ticks and fleas at least for the heavy brush areas. Great job guys !!
Just be careful in that heat. Did a hike to the peak last year and the heat almost beat me! Theres a cool ammo box at the peak with a sign in sheet if you can find it ;)
For your van build have u thought about putting magnets on the ends of your wooden poles in your curtains so that they lock together to roll up but come apart to get by.
That screw you tightened is your bite point adjustment. It was supposed to be out like that. When you cranked it you definitely changed the way your brakes worked like you mentioned later.
You should leave/hide a couple sets of loppers at the end of where you last cut. Then you just pedal to that point, do as much cutting as you want/can, then you can ride back down the way you came. Eventually you will get through to the end of the loop. If your friends can/want to help, the tools are always there.
I hate overgrown single tracks because I crash once due to my handlebar getting tangled with a branch during a downhill section. Pretty nice adventure though! I wonder if rattlesnakes occur by these parts...
gonna need to get a UTV out there to set up a FOB, with tents and a trailer of water to work out of. then haul up some hedge trimmers, weed wackers, and machetes and go to town on that trail for a week or so
The type of ride I love its an adventure not a ride and it is much better for overall fitness. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. :) Still here watching your progression bro.
I was getting PTSD from a ride i did on my channel called the Falcon Trail. It's on the central coast and has great spots in it that you want to love, until the bushes and spiders webs smack you in the face. Great video as always
Hi. Which Grips do you use? Are those dmr deathgrips? Because they Look a little special with those little Finger patches. If you can Fall ist Like that😁
That screw on the shimano levers aren't technically supposed to be screwed in all the way... they are your "bite point adjustment screw" although you don't get much out of that adjustment on a shimano brake system.
I have to comment: Wish you had put on a mud guard on that front tire. I'm seeing specks of mud flying all over the place. Cool trails and I'll be checking that area out soon.
Dude, to be way out there with such a small amount of water is just crazy! You are literally taking a massive risk in that temperature. Kids watching this video, you have got to set a good example.
this man is the best mtb youtuber i have ever seen. He has interesting content, good footage and very positive!
Love seeing a main character in a serious mtn bike RUclips video on a ... hard tail!
This dude has the BEST GoPro footage of mountain bike trails.
agreed

@@janmaly1591 That would be great. It is getting better. Doesn't look like it but it is slowly getting better.
@@OverTheHillMTB thanks, I'm glad you like my vids. What is YT duty?

Insanely difficult looking. True back country adventure. 16:15 rock scramble was sweet. Thanks for taking us along.
"I almost suffered a catastrophic testicular injury but I was able to miraculously avoid it" 🤣
Thank God bc they be getting some use!
That’s why we have 2🍒

this ride is epic. There's a feeling of 'lost world adventure' sort of thing.
Thanks Brian, I really enjoyed the patreon cut of this. The extended cuts are amazing and I enjoy seeing more of your rides.
Poison oak on a < handlebar width trail... Seems like a great day for gloves, Brian! ... And of course Aaron would like something like this 😛
Hard work but trail building Rewarding.
Great work BKXC.
Ripmo shreds trails and leaves all round bike mower. Another great video Brian, getting me through lockdown. 👏🏻
Now THAT is a proper adventure! Love it!
Bravo BKXC pour la vidéo, paysage magnifique et parcours génial 🤘👍😉
Wild is extreme and beautiful.wkwkwk pleasure and pain. From 21:20 I can feel that riding, victory ride.
Yaaass.. that view at 16:25 🤩 . Great vid as usual 👍
Damn brian i think thats the first video in a while that it seemed like u had a really good time...awsome video keep going
Nice video Brian! Bushwhacking at its finest! I love the rocks and tech!

Jeremy Clarkson would say " SPEED AND POWER".
And James May would take it slow and safe
Oh, wow. Brian is slowly morphing from James into Jeremy.

Nothing says sufferfest more than starting the video with MTBing Adventures!
I'm learning that the moto guys here in Idaho clear all the downed trees in the spring... so I like them and welcome them on the trails!
Brilliant Brian. Looked a great day! 👍
Lol “screw that lets go to Rockville”
Also that cockpit set up is goals
That looks like an awesome trail!! Take some power tools and hike it instead of riding. Get that stuff cleared out. Would be a super fun trail for sure.
restoring a trail is way easier than building a whole new trail, Cheers to the builders
loved it man, totally adding shears or a saw to the kit.
When the pandemic is over you should organize a subscriber dig day for this trail
Proper (RUGGED) fun trails Brian 🚴😉👌
Gotta show some love for the ATVers, they maintain most of the trails near me while the town does 0. It angers me when people who enjoy hiking hate ATVing in the woods but they’re keeping the trails clear and alive.
I Spent the whole sighting 😴
You r really good at what u r doing
Best Wishes from Tunisia 💓
There’s some trails in the Cleveland national forest in SoCal that are similar....so much potential but so far out there it’s hard to maintain.
yeah, when he hit that thick growth I thought “Bell Ridge”
“Oh no, a screw is coming loose from my brake lever!” He says, before proceeding to crank the free-stroke adjustment screw all the way in...

Man this trail seems like it would be a freaking blast! The earth is taking it back slowly
Treacherous terrain beautiful friggin Trail B, and yet it still looked fun as hell, Hey just out of curiosity why dont you have or keep a can Repel around the even have the Eucalyptus natural type for ticks and fleas at least for the heavy brush areas. Great job guys !!
I felt it. The whole way. Love it man!
Just be careful in that heat. Did a hike to the peak last year and the heat almost beat me! Theres a cool ammo box at the peak with a sign in sheet if you can find it ;)
Laughed at your robot voice. Been in the "brambles of death" before. Hooking your pedals, bleeding shins, that's the life.
Favorite commentary "Recreational Death March"! LOL
For your van build have u thought about putting magnets on the ends of your wooden poles in your curtains so that they lock together to roll up but come apart to get by.
That was a long ride out :o I do enjoy some not all long videos. I could watch trails like this all day :D
bro PLEASE tell us your GoPro settings and upload settings! No matter what I do I can't get my footage looking this good even in-post...!!
That looks like a fun time exploring!
Epic footage on your video, very enjoyable. Now how would you rate that trail Brian? Thank you. Barry
Brian btw what was causing the 'clunking' 💥from that coil shock ?
Respect!
Wonderful and crazy trip :)
Wow Brian! Some serious bushwhacking!
Pitching in, making trail dreams come true.

Holy shit he almost died at 23:00 ... what a save! lmao
i was 100% expecting Brian to have a chilled coke waiting for him at the end
I'm feeling like the nearest bike shops should get together and pay to have trails like this worked on
That was brutal! I thought you had a pressurized water hookup on that van?
Love your vídeos bro 🤘🏻
gonna need to get a UTV out there to set up a FOB, with tents and a trailer of water to work out of. then haul up some hedge trimmers, weed wackers, and machetes and go to town on that trail for a week or so
Be very careful as bigfoot dwells these lands in search of tastey mountain bikers!! Sweet footage BMC 4 Life!!
Hey brian, do you like the Rockshox coil over the Fox air shock on the ripmo? Thank for the videos!!!!
Oh man I got ptsd from seeing a chain stuck between the chainring and frame. Did you lose any paint down there?
I really want to go on a big ride now! 👍🚵♂️
The type of ride I love its an adventure not a ride and it is much better for overall fitness. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. :) Still here watching your progression bro.
Looks like a lot of trail maintenance needed there!
I was getting PTSD from a ride i did on my channel called the Falcon Trail. It's on the central coast and has great spots in it that you want to love, until the bushes and spiders webs smack you in the face. Great video as always
Oh man what i wish that i could ride the places you ride. It's hard to find trails like this here in Sweden.
He stores it inside. He has videos about his van.
Man, this is good. I think there's a problem with the gimbal though... The motors are quite audible :(
"ah ah yes" love the video
Hi. Which Grips do you use? Are those dmr deathgrips? Because they Look a little special with those little Finger patches. If you can Fall ist Like that😁
New subscriber to your channel. Awesome vids. Do you sell any decals, stickers? Thanks for answering.
Where is Sarah? Excellent track!!
being smart at home proly...
Question for ya. Are you storing your bike outside the van when you travel? If so, how is it holding up with weather, rock etc... Thanks.
Is that a yellow Sainsbury's bag in the back of your van at the end?
Brutal and adding tics to the equation with possible disease . Dont forget the poison oak and it adds up to an epic ride and fun for all
That screw on the shimano levers aren't technically supposed to be screwed in all the way... they are your "bite point adjustment screw" although you don't get much out of that adjustment on a shimano brake system.
This is pretty much what all mtn bike trails look like in the northeast.
I have to comment: Wish you had put on a mud guard on that front tire. I'm seeing specks of mud flying all over the place. Cool trails and I'll be checking that area out soon.
Love the video 🚲
What is that hooded robe that works good for changing called? I could use one of those!
@10:40 you need brush hooks for that chamise
One word, BRUTAL!
Organized volunteer trail work I'm up for it😀
By the way B you're making quit a few new scary sounds on your close calls lately LMAO !!!!
What are the stats on your bike!
On that trail, pruning shears are like taking a pocket knife to a gun fight. A chainsaw is the only hope; Chamise grows super fast!
Hi im from the Philippines, i always watch your vid and it inspire me to ride, im a fan and can i have your old bike haha
You should try Sram brakes, they are easier to modulate
Good shit man!! I got a trail like that over by me so I feel your pain!
Cool bike to!
Dude, to be way out there with such a small amount of water is just crazy! You are literally taking a massive risk in that temperature. Kids watching this video, you have got to set a good example.
How do you like the coiled up V2 compared to the Air V1 now that you have some time on it
Im not first ,im not last ,but when bkxc uploads i click fast
This trail has insane potential. You just need a proper trail crew to go out there for a solid weekend of work!
Youre buddy riding a hardtail, how tough can it be?? How is the AXS and Zipp wheels working out?
That is rugged country. Spent many summer days there on fire assignments.
looks like a good place for forearm guards, 510 impacts, and a jockstrap!🤣
Are there any ticks in the hedges?
