Whats good y'all! Thanks for watching today. Two notes: 1. Any of y'all using the contemporary series? What's your thoughts? 2. The last photo in the behind the scenes ended up looking weird after the video exported.. not sure why but probably going to make that one a black and white.
Thanks for trying out the 45, and glad you're considering the new I series Contemporary lenses. "Sometimes you need a lens that's more convenient that makes photography fun." Exactly! :)
Bro, your videos are so pleasant to watch and I am truly following your work. Your videos are the only ones that I am watching almost immediately (after a day or two) after you release them. Great work.
In August, I also picked up the Sigma 45mm f2.8 DG DN L-Mount for my SL2 for $639 CA. For the money, it's a wonderful lens. Its minimum focussing distance of 9.45" (24cm) is great as well. All my lenses are primes except for the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens L-Mount. Like your Panasonic, its bigger and heavier but it is my only zoom and weathersealed. I think this Sigma 45mm is one of the best values out there in L-Mount. A constant 2.8 and being small and light (7.58 oz/215 g) for carrying around is great! The autofocus is fast as well.
I recently picked up the Sigma 85 f/1.4 DG DN for my Leica SL2 and I love it so far. Super sharp and crisp, and it's not that big either. It definitely balances well with the heft of the SL2.
The 45mm 2.8 is pretty awesome. I use it on my Panasonic S5. From the Industrial style old school build to the quality of the pictures. Especially black and white. You should check out the Sigma 65mm F2 coming soon. I believe there are four in the new I series. 24, 35, 45 and 65.
Love it on my Sigma fp! I was going to adapt an M-mount Voigtlander 35mm but might go for the other new Sigma lenses you mentioned. Hope you get to review those too!
Amazing!! I’m glad you tried it out that’s one of my favorite lens on my SL also it focuses super close and is really goood for portrait They just announced the 35mm f2 would love to see a review on that if you ever get your hands on it
I tried out the Sigma 45 briefly on my SL but ended up buying a manual focus Voigtlander 40mm f1.2 The sigma was built great, compact and had auto focus but the Voigtlander won on bags of character for my portrait work. Next lens for me is probably the Panasonic S Pro 16-35mm f4 to dive into video more on the SL. Plus that new SL2-S sounds like a winner, winner, chicken dinner!
I love that lens :) When I got an S-series I got the behemoth ART 40mm as my first prime because of my experience with the XF27. Going to get some of these I series lenses as compact options.
maaaaaan that shot with the red truck am sure you took more than one shot there it looked like one of your favorite scenes but still enjoyed this am a big sigma user favorite one 18-35mm try it, by the way new hair style CLEAN....!
Hey Evan, so I noticed you photograph mainly using the screen instead of the EVF. Maybe you could talk about this, I'm curious because I always use the VF (not electronic), should try your method
Thanks for the video. One thing... ”vignyee” is not a word. The word comes from the French word and is pronounced vignette with clear emphasis on the t as it is a female word. Take care
Dope video bro! Maybe I’m tripping but when you were taking those photos it looked like you were doing a focus and recompose. Was that what you were doing or were you leveling it out? Also liking the haircut homie! Keep up the good work ✊🏽
4:17 The "V" is silent. It's pronounced "in-yo-fae" ;) Seriously though, I'd love to see your reviews of the 24mm and 65mm i-series lenses next. Maybe you should get a T/TL-series camera for street and double-duty FOV with these i-series lenses.
Lesson 1. Just get off my rear end and walk around and shoot. Just see what I come across. Maybe a Pulitzer Prize will come our of it, maybe not, just shoot. 2. You're in Georgia? Why didn't I know that before? (Just watched previous video with Dawsonville in it, so it's all like one video.) Time to get up, walk around and put Fort Valley on the photographic map.
Hugh Brownstone (Three Blind Men and an Elephant) has a great video on the new Sigma lenses - ruclips.net/video/atsvOQ7svE8/видео.html - worth checking out for all L-mount owners.
And you didn't saw the Sigma in real life if you think it's big. 😉 I have both the Sigma and a Fuji and the size, with the hood, is about the same as the Fuji 50mm f2 (without the hood!)... of course, the barrel is larger and it weights a little more, but it's pretty damn compact. I was very surprised when I first receive it, as, like you, I love the compactness of the Fuji lenses.
Why doesn't anyone use the eyepiece any more, what is it about using your multiple thousand dollar camera like your phone? Come on people it's a camera and we should use it as intended or just use your smartphone.
I'm not sure your understanding what the issues are for night time photography as enabled by more sensitive sensors but inherent lack of detail. I think he should be shooting from his waist but he did not buy that style of camera obviously. I also think that the issue is more using the finger to trigger then him having it away from his face. The body as a tripod Works far better during the scanning as to stability if you introduce a delay or trigger it with a blink of your I literally. It's amazing to me that there is a secondary market for the Boise eye frames but they don't have a shutter control via Bluetooth by blinking while wearing them. I am still in the market for the audio piece you hang over your neck but the eyeglasses if they added some minimal retinal control would be worth $100 used for sure. I guess they need to partner up with Instagram?

I love how Evan snaps stellar photos in seemingly mundane and boring places.
It goes to show that your only roadblock is your imagination.

Yessss. Pumped to see a new classic Evan Ranft POV street shots video. It’s what got me hooked years ago
I recently picked up the Sigma 85 f/1.4 DG DN for my Leica SL2 and I love it so far. Super sharp and crisp, and it's not that big either. It definitely balances well with the heft of the SL2.
I hope that they will release some lenses for Fuji next year. Fingers crossed 🤞
Really like your style (very cinematic), editing and the subjects you select. Top! 👍👍
Your BTS videos are probably one of the best photography videos!! And to be honest, I really think that the first photo is the best of them all.
You should try the new Sigma 35mm f2 lens!
Love it on my Sigma fp! I was going to adapt an M-mount Voigtlander 35mm but might go for the other new Sigma lenses you mentioned. Hope you get to review those too!
you know I'm copping that 18twenty6 hoodie 🔥
Thank you for sharing , I will consider it for my SL2-S. Nice pics, by the way !
Sigma makes great lenses...I use them on my SL and can't complain at all!

Gainesville! Rare to see my city in camera reviews. Love it
Yo Evan 🔥!!
Huge fan of your work man
Pretty cool as usual. Great shots too
This focal length is almost like my Fuji 27mm/2.8 in FF. I love this focal length. It is very versatile.
I love that lens :) When I got an S-series I got the behemoth ART 40mm as my first prime because of my experience with the XF27. Going to get some of these I series lenses as compact options.
YOOO! New haircut! I love it ! (Loved the photos as well haha ! :)
maaaaaan that shot with the red truck am sure you took more than one shot there it looked like one of your favorite scenes but still enjoyed this am a big sigma user favorite one 18-35mm try it, by the way new hair style CLEAN....!
I love love love mine with the Panny S1.
I really want the 35mm f2 from sigma on my SL2, instead of my APO 50mm from Leica, which is heavy AF
I miss photography, videos like this makes me want a camera again 😪👍
Hey Evan, so I noticed you photograph mainly using the screen instead of the EVF. Maybe you could talk about this, I'm curious because I always use the VF (not electronic), should try your method
IT is partly for "making of" use ONLY I assume. Might as well wear "glassfinder" if by wire.
The 90mm is amazing especially for gimbal use
Love my Sigma lens on my Olympus OMD E-M10 mark II
Nice video. Enjoyed it.
looking forward to the Sigma 24mm f3.5 DGDN
Wouldn't M10 be small and powerful? Or it's the price tag? Thank you
what mic were you using at the table when ur Dog was there. noticed i didnt see any wires so curious what kind of wireless mic is that
I love your new hairstyle! ❤
Thanks for the video. One thing... ”vignyee” is not a word. The word comes from the French word and is pronounced vignette with clear emphasis on the t as it is a female word. Take care
Thank god I've been waiting on a BTS video for WEEKS. Question: do you find the 45mm length awkward at all? Thanks Evan 👍
Dope video bro! Maybe I’m tripping but when you were taking those photos it looked like you were doing a focus and recompose. Was that what you were doing or were you leveling it out?
Also liking the haircut homie! Keep up the good work ✊🏽
That looks surprisingly nice paired with the sl2
Even better with the supplied metal lens hood.
Can you try Zeiss c sonnar t* 50 1.5
Or cinemagic cinema lens for streetphotography ?
Really nice images.
Do all the images have some sort of a filter on them ?
Nice, how are you enjoying the SL compared to the Q? Best
hi do you need adapter to use this lens on Leica SL2? thanks
hey Evan! good stuff bro! btw, did yiu get a chance to check out the SL2S? would love to hear your impressions on that baby. cheers!
Solid lens with that size
Would be so dope to design for your brand!
Haircut! Woohoo!
Photography should be fun. True story.
$600 is not expensive? Wow, welcome to your world.
I use this lens on my Sony A7 mark 1. A very small combination.
4:17 The "V" is silent. It's pronounced "in-yo-fae" ;)

nice tune
where can i sell one of these?
Dunno... The photo at 4:53 the best one
lol @ the camera hold trolling

What's wrong with 'shoe repair'? The beautiful banality of everyday life :) Nice pics Evan, thanks for the vid.
How many weird ways can hold the camera😂😂🙌
A million different ways.
I have the 45 f2.8 with my Sony A73 and it is not sharp. Not happy at all with it.
Evan - Awesome video as usual...loved it. Why don't you try the Nikon Z6ii....it's a very camera for both Stills and Videos
Like ya cut G
How do you get money from this ?
Yay
New Hair cut?
This lens is very soft, wide open...
Hugh Brownstone (Three Blind Men and an Elephant) has a great video on the new Sigma lenses - ruclips.net/video/atsvOQ7svE8/видео.html - worth checking out for all L-mount owners.
X-mount has clearly spoiled me if you think that's small ;)
And you didn't saw the Sigma in real life if you think it's big. 😉

Vignette is pronounced like Beignet?
sl2 has the one of the best evfs in the game yet you don't even use it. Why does this bother me :)
Fun fact, if you type fun fact people will read the entire thing (I want my like)
Wait. That thing has autofocus?!
Yes it’s really a Panasonic
@@WhoIsSerafin Well not really but I get where you're coming from or why you might think that way.
Small and inexpensive lol
Early gang!!
Why not use Leica lenses with leica body. I thought that the lenses are the main reason fo buy Leica
Their lenses will cost you a leg and a arm in comparison to the good quality lenses from Sigma and Panasonic that cost only fractions of the cost.
@@rockymhs I know that but the body isnt cheap either so why not buy an a7 or r5 while your at it
@@krzysztof6123 because someone wants Leica’s color science and not your typical Sony or canon
If you actually watch the video he addresses this exact question, he said it’s because Leica doesn’t make an L-mount lens that small.
@@gorf959 cant m mount glass be used with some sort of adapter?
