I love that you use so many materials collected from the forest making crafting much cheaper . This is not a cheap hobby normally but your tips make it very affordable for youngsters or people with a budget .
Fun facts 16:50 if you're ever having trouble spreading this kind of flock, get one of those small metal tea filter balls. They're usually really cheap and they'll have a smaller spread. Plus it's just fun to shake around lol If your cardboard thing gets warped by PVA glue, just add some to the bottom and it'll flatten out again. This trick doesn't work for hot glue / Superglue as far as I know.
I recently tested something. If you have foam that gets warped from Hot glue and super glue, throwing a bunch of PVA glue on the bottom DOES NOT FIX IT. Please learn from my mistake as I take this L
I made some of the flocking. It was for a miniture greenhouse. It worked a treat. I kept the lumps in to add texture and build up the places I wanted it to look unkempt. Was a fun easy project. The flocking not the greenhouse hehe
I really like the colours you've got in the rocks. Way more interesting than just a black base and drybrushing with grey and white. I'll have to try some like this. The blue with red and orange hints really work.
I think that the redish looks like the old linseed oil protectant that old barns were painted with they used to add rust particles to deter moss and other growths that would deteriorate the wood
drop a little blob of glue in a flock box. when its dry out you will get a little bush or turf of grass. sprinkle the flock over clear nylon and heat it with a hair dryer until it starts to melt.
Good stuff! I use store-bought static grasses, but I am too cheap to also buy an electric applicator. My peasant solution to make the grass stand up was to rub a balloon to build up a charge and then to hold it close to the surface to lift the fibres. Not sure if that would work with your home-brew grass, but it might be worth a try. And you won’t electrocute yourself. Thanks.
Hello. Try to use a plastic bottle with holes in the cap for the flocking, creating pressure in the bottle you will release the flock and get more vertical grass
I love your style bro! You show how you really don't need to be super accurate and can still pump out awesome end results. That fact that you use a kitchen knife is amazing!
Always awesome. Love how you upgraded and brought it altogether. 👍🏻 BTW, you live in a northern climate. Did you notice how the hot glue over the makeshift tree look a lot like when rain freezes onto branches. Could be a nice thing to use for any snow/frost based crafting.
Hello Lucas, I have never played DnD but have always wanted to, neither have I ever been interested in making models of any kind. However you make it look so relaxing and so much fun! You have gotten my sub ever since I saw your first video. I have ordered crafting stuff today and hope to make something cool soon (although Im pretty sure it will take me a long time before I even reach peasant level crafting). I would love to see some of your gaming sessions, as I am sure everyone else here would! The world of DnD and it's rules is still a confusing concept for me :P Looking forward to more of your videos!
I usually use spray adhesive on my little builds since I usually cover the bottoms in a thin layer of hot glue. Also, try finding some heavy rocks if you have warping issues, I do that and I haven't had any noticeable warps, at least none that can't be hidden.
Love it, mang! After I clear off my cutting mat of all the MDF kits I've been building, I'm itching to try to make some scratch-built terrain and ruined buildings. I'll use your techniques! Cheers, --Bo
Although this mini diorama is super cool I’d love to see a similar floating island diorama! I think it’d look super cool if you used clear PVC pipe to hold the island up or something of that nature
Dude your channel is very good. I'm from Brazil, and I'm always waiting for a post from you. I made a channel here in Brasil de Craft and got a lot of your breath. Thank you!
Compared to your figure, that door is very small, like maybe gnome size, but certainly not human size! Nonetheless, it was a good terrain build. I can imagine that house on a wind swept cliff, on a stormy day, with grey clouds rolling by, but no smoke from a fire because there is no chimney. Rough living conditions.
@@tiny-grimes I tried two pieces of scatter terrain, one was a bunch of ruined concrete walls and the other were some supposedly alien plants (just some weird fake plastic plants, really). For both cases I just closed the hole with tape and covered the whole surface with sand (and pva glue, of course). After the glue properly dried, I just sprayed the thing with cheap grey primer. There's a video on Terrain Tutor's channel where he uses CDs as bases for a sort of modular forest, really cool stuff.
I can't remember, have you made flock from saw dust before? I know I have seen other crafters do it and mixing that flock with the static grass you are using makes for a great effect.
The one thing that stops me from being able to try so many of your cool techniques is that trees like that just don't grow near me, so I can't use bark! But I love watching your videos anyway!
I'm no way pro using flocking but I did a 3'x4' grass board a few months ago and discovered that using the lighter shades before and then covering the whole thing with darker or browner flocking worked better to unify the look and make it less patchy.

@@BardsCraft Just a quick question will mod podge make a massive difference to table top terrain because I can not afford it yet and also thank you replying to my other question.
This video is in a more casual and messy format, hope you like it!
As long as it has painting brush noises we can wait 😉
Bard's Craft Really liked it , the video overall had a more vibrant vibe to it 👍🏻
Why did you stop using dill and other herbs?
Humour is still present, so I don't mind 😅
Go flock yourself 😂 nice move to epic

Your kinda like the bob ross of diorama crafting.
Relaxing voice and music. 😊
He's totally the Bob Ross of diorama! These videos are super chill.
Very nice conversion. The dark blue is a very good undertone and that white lichen can be good for the trees if dipped in glycerine and painted green.

Tip: if your base is bent from the white glue, just paint glue on the underside to bend it back.
Ok I'll try that when I make my ruins
aaahhh thanks Patrick!

Looks ch better in a natural setting and having a bit of a repaint .Looks realistic now 😀
Bard's Craft! the sexiest diorama content on RUclips!!

If you put a layer of pva or paint on the bottom it will correct any warping. Love the channel.
The thing you do where you timelapse your drybrushing has really helped my technique, thank you for making your videos.
Superb upgrade! Outstanding.

You just do wat jou like. That is great!
Could you possible try to build a wagon? Could be a fun project
Yeah like a war wagon!
That would be really useful

Can't wait to see what you did with that new grass 😁
This is awesome and makes me want to build some more terrain pieces myself!
Also, I wish more problems in life could be solved just by adding glue
This is wonderful.
FANTASTIC !!
Brilliant and love your your explanations 💜
Really Beautiful work
I loved it before the flocking and with the paintjob not quite ready! Very frimdark and suitable for frostgrave and mordheim

Nice work!

I love the bark rocks you make. What kind of trees are those near where you live?
Need some bark collection hints. Nlwant to go out and specifically get some bark. Which tree bark works best for you?
that looks great!
I really recommend to use a static grass applicator in Aliexpress its like 15/20 € its really cheap compare with the usual ones

Woo! I made some of that hemp rope grass from your video last night.

Have you ever tried using old CDs/DVDs as bases? They won't warp at all and are great for small pieces like this one from the video.
do you know how to prepare the CD for the painting? I think sanding first then base coat it.

hi how do you soften the wood or the bark you gonna chop to smaller part? are you soak it or what? great content btw!💖💖
Wylock combats the warping by painting both sides. Have you tried that?
Amazing.
Would adding cardboard strips on the bottom keep it from warping?
This inspired me to make a hobbit hole house. Thanks Bard :)
I Think that a video about building mid-sized houses could be interesting.

can you use acrylic paints to for such diorama's?
