Fantastic review! You say you didnt know there was something this powerful and portable but what about the Cayin C9 surely thats more powerful and very high quality?
Again most thorough review of interesting product there’s little opinion about yet! Is perhaps ferrum Wandla within the scope of review? It’s gaining popularity and so far there has mainly been midfi dacs on the channel
@@wavetheorysound I just got it and it’s really interesting with the oversampling filters and actually performance for the price. Will test it with hypsos next week
I know the use case isn't exactly the same, but I am curious to know how this amp compared to a mid-tier desktop amp, such as a lake people G111 mk2, or Violectric V222?
Man, love the review! I've actually been listening to music through my HPA-23RM and Focal Radiance. I'm curious to know what interconnects are your using? I have the X8s for my headphones and I just ordered X8 interconnects. I was looking to order the Chord Hugo2. I would like to know how has the difference between each of these components together and with/without each other. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I haven't used Plussound interconnects. But a Plussound X8 copper square weave cable came with my Radiance and they sound great together. TBH I find the Hugo 2 and the Radiance also to synergize very well. I might prefer that combo over Radiance + HPA-23RM. However, the Enleum has a bit advantage over H2 with harder to drive loads. H2 isn't all that powerful.
This amp has to be able to compete with the Hugo 2 amp section. It is probably better being more specialized, but the overall value can’t compete with the Hugo 2 because of the DAC.
@@_DeepGroove_ it is about comparing the amp sections of each component. The DAC being the same even from one of the amps from the comparison is null and void. Heck. You could use a Qutest to the HPA 23 if you wanted separates in the purest form. Qutest and Hugo 2 are essentially identical DACS.
There are several good options. If they're a bit bright for you Plussound X8, Eletech Inferno, and Danacable Lazuli Reference w/ upgraded 3.5mm plugs are great. If you like the treble then Gladiator Caesar line Argento silver, Lavricable Grand silver, and Danacable Rhapsody are all good as well.
@@_DeepGroove_ I am not sure what happened with the A series and have never heard one, but the only units in production how are HXXX, so if you buy one new, that's what it will be. The H series is totally different to the original XXX series, totally different PCBs and a few components.
Sir you are always perfect in your reviews. thank you for your great job.
Brilliant, thank you! I’m only halfway through but just had to comment
Very informative.
As thorough a review as can be asked for 🍻

Yeah for whatever reason opportunities for hi end dac reviews have been relatively rare. Wandla is on my radar so 🤞

It’s not Hugo 2 or Enleum, but Hugo 2 alone or Hugo2 + Enleum. Since Hugo2 cannot drive the most demanding headphones you have a use case

your fuck!ng hugo is not in the same league. chord products are very dry and fuck!ng boring
Great video thank you. I was just reminded what cable would you recommend for HE1000se? Thanks again.

@@wavetheorysound thank you, appreciate your response. Keep up the good work.
Great review. Missed answering one key question though - does it drive Tungstens? 😏
I didn't have Tungsten at the time of the review, but Ryan says Enleum stuff drives it well.
Hi does it synergize well with 1266 TC
Are you planning to review aune s17 pro?
👌👍
How much of a improvement in sound do you get from going from the hugo hp output to the current output?
The current output will "be the biggest draw" 😂
3 to 6 battery life seems like the only shortfall.
Not really if you consider to add an external battery for long sessions, still transportable, also use 18650 replaceable batteries.
I want to give my tip to your human companion
Ballsy
You got to try the AMP-23R! (HXXX serial# series)
The fact that some series/units sound worse than others is very worrying, and so far Enleum has not openly addressed this issue

@@rustygates3367 Thank you for the details! But is it different better or different worse?
